General description:
Incorporating a special dampener mechanism, X-Bar Boring Bars eliminate chatter for extremely fine finishes and extra long tool life. Providing smooth finishes at up to 6X L/D, the X-Bar is ideal for extended overhang applications. Costly carbide and standard steel boring bars cannot compete with the superior rigidity of the anti-vibration X-Bar. All X-Bars are equipped with coolant holes to improve chip flow. A wide variety of chipbreakers are available, including the new positive style ELU and ESU designs, in CCMT, TCMT and TPMT geometries.

|
Increased rigidity for minimizing bar deflection and chatter
The rigidity of the bar in the direction of the principal force is maximized because the thickest portion of the head is located as close as possible to the cutting edge.
Chip pocket design for excellent chip evacuation
The excellent chip evacuation allows minimizing tool failure caused from chip recutting and chip entangling. Moreover, damages to the work surface by striking with chips are suppressed.
The oil hole is positioned as close as to the cutting edge so that the cutting fluid can be surely fed to the cutting point.

WhizIn, another revolutionizing patented product developed by WhizCut, is designed to improve productivity of internal applications. It has been specially developed for small diameters in internal turning applications, and is unlike anything else on the market.
The WhizIn tool holder has the carbide bar mounted at an angle to achieve the maximum stability for a set diameter. By grinding away less from the base of the insert, the insert becomes more stable. Other benefits are less grinding time and grinding stress and that the coolant may go through the tool holder and spray directly on to the cutting zone.

A boring tool is usually a modular tool, consisting of a basic holder, adapter and a cutting unit in the form of a cartridge, slide or fine boring unit. A fine boring head holds a boring bar or cartridge. A reamer has a tool shank and a close pitch head with brazed blades. The tools, except the reamer, are radially adjustable within a specific diameter range.

Solid Carbide Strengthened Boring Bars (L/D ≤ 6)
New Concept for Non Vibration - Machining
Compared to conventional steel shank boring bars, Tungaloy's new concept allows for a larger overhang boring.
The carbide reinforcements increase the tool rigidity close to the performance of standard solid carbide boring bars.
The optimal combination of stiffness and elasticity minimizes incoming vibrations and allows for the highest machining accuracy.
- High machining rigidity (close to solid carbide boring bars)
- Minimized chatter especially at large tool overhang L/D ≤ 6
- Best workpiece dimensions accuracy
- Excellent surface quality
- Increased tool life

CoroDrill Delta-C R846
Sandvik Coromant has developed a new drill, CoroDrill Delta-C R846, for Heat Resistant Super Alloy machining in aerospace applications, such as the production of gas turbine casings. The new drill is designed for the continuous and reliable production of holes in demanding HRSA materials, which place heavy demands on the cutting edge. The geometry of the new CoroDrill Delta-C is optimised for maximum efficiency in repeat short hole drilling. The new cutting edge has a more consistent curve for added strength in the outer corners where cutting forces can be highest in demanding applications. This distributes the cutting forces evenly over the cutting edge – giving an even wear without sudden changes.
CoroMill Plura
The CoroMill Plura solid carbide endmill family covers most milling applications from roughing to superfinishing, keyslot milling and chamfering.
The endmills are designed with several length options to maximise productivity from short to long reach. They are supplied in diameters from 0.4 - 25 mm and also available in an multi-edged version for super finishing and a spherical version for optimised accessibility.
CoroMill Plura endmills are supplied in three different carbide grades covering wet and dry milling in steels, stainless steels, cast iron, heat resistant super alloys, hardened materials as well as aluminium.

Solid Carbide Endmills
High precision and wear resistance of solid carbide tools are a guarantee of success for economically effective cutting operations.
The new Tungaloy endmill series reaches exactly this high demand of performance. It features a wide range of tools for different milling operations of various work materials such as steels, stainless steels, hardened steels and nonferrous metals. As a result of our new development and field testing we are able to offer a new series of end mills with numerous cutting angles, made to fit the standards of work materials. Because of an oxidation resistant and stable coating (TiAlN-PVD), endmilling can proceed even at high speed. The simultaneous high process stability and reliability of the new Tungaloy solid carbide endmills can result in a decrease of production time and employee investment.
