This multi-range radial flow turbine meter uses a low inertia turbine supported on robust sapphire bearings in a chemically resistant housing. Ten flow ranges, a choice of "plug in" end connection fittings, and two styles of pulse detection system make this meter one of the most flexible available. The unit has individual traceable calibration, and can be considered as simple apparatus when placed in a hazardous area.
The unit can be configured with fittings and electrical connections to suit OEM requirements. Particular advantages include a wide flow range, long bearing life and in-line design. Output is via a pulse, which can be monitored by simple electronic systems.

Derived from the FSC Series, the F2000 Quad
Series of fl ow sensors utilizes two fl ow transducers
which are 90-degrees electrically out of phase
from each other. With the addition of a second
fl ow transducer, it is possible to monitor fl ow in
both directions. The F2000 Quad is suitable for
up-down counters that can discern the leading
and trailing edges of the quadrature signals.
Current applications include using the F2000 as
a speed-sensing device on mobile equipment.
This bi-directional fl ow sensor can be used as
a governor, sending frequency signals back to
a PLC which enable it to make the necessary
adjustments. Other functions of the fl ow sensor are
in linear applications where accurate positioning
is required.

Litre Meter developed the Pelton wheel principle as the best to achieve accurate measurements of low flows.
A single turbine ring size is common to all Litre Meter flowmeters. The turbine rotor is based on a highly efficient 'Pelton Wheel' design. It is available in various chemically resistant materials such as PFA (Teflon)and PVDF. The rotor ferrites are sealed to make them non-wetted parts. Sapphire bearings are offered for maximum chemical resistance as standard. These provide a very low friction mechanically-robust bearing with long life characteristics.
The rotation of the rotor is sensed by an electronic system using the interaction of ferrites in the rotor tips with a pickup coil. No drag is imposed on the rotor which assists in the measurement of extremely low flows. This, coupled with the efficient Pelton Wheel design and low friction bearings gives the meter major advantages. The complete turbine ring assembly can be easily removed with the meter remaining in line if cleaning is required.
|
|
Titan manufacture flowmeters based on the Pelton wheel technique. This well proven method is the ideal way of measuring low rates of flow of low viscosity liquids. Advantages are wide flow range, good linearity and repeatability, with a compact, low-cost design. The unit can be built totally from engineering plastics, with no metallic parts in contact with the fluid monitored.
The 800, 900 and 1000 series flowmeters can measure flows from 0.05L/min to 30 L/min, or are available as simple flow switches, to alarm on flow failure, low or high flow. End connections are typically BSPF threads or hose barbs, other connections can be supplied.

FTB790 Series turbine meters with microprocessor-based electronics offer a durable, compact, high precision fluid measurement device, with total and rate indication. Information is clearly displayed on a large 6-digit liquid crystal display with two-point floating decimal for totals from .01 to 999,999. All operations are easily performed with two buttons for simplicity. The basic unit and display are powered by two lithium batteries, providing up to 4000 hours of actual use. Automatic “on” and “off” save battery life. Manual “on” allows view of the display on demand. Cumulative total, batch total and rate of flow are standard. A fifteen-point field calibration curve can be stored in memory. The turbine meter can also be ordered without display electronics. A special pulse output model (FLSC790-ND-P) must be ordered to obtain an open collector current sinking output operated on 9 to 35 Vdc. The output is a square wave pulse with a three-wire connection.
