Pneumatic cylinders are typically made of aluminum, so sensors can indicate end-of-stroke from outside the tube. A magnet installed internally on the piston during manufacturing allows an external magnetic field sensor to detect the motion of the piston. The magnetic sensor can be placed anywhere along the length of the cylinder to read end-of-stroke.

Magnetic field sensors are activated by magnetic fields and are especially suited for piston position detection in pneumatic cylinders. Based on the fact that magnetic fields can permeate non-magnetizable metals, it is possible to detect a permanent magnet attached to the piston through the aluminium wall of the cylinder. Magnetic-inductive permaprox sensors from TURCK operate on a patented function principle. Thus they are capable of reliably detecting permanent magnets of various field strengths on all common cylinder types. They operate completely wear-free and are short-circuit protected; a weld-field immune version for welding applications is also available.

Linear Hall Sensors
All products of our linear hall family measure the vertical component of a magnetic field. The output signal is directly proportional to the sensed magnetic field.
Based on these principles, our TLE499x family of linear Hall ICs has been designed specifically to meet the requirements of highly accurate angular and linear position measurement, as well as current measurement applications.
The TLE499x product family comprises the linear Hall sensors TLE4990 and TLE4997 with analog output as well as the TLE4998 with three different digital output options. The TLE4998 interface options include Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), Single Edge Nibble Transmission (SENT) and Short PWM Codes (SPC). TLE4997 sensor provides unique temperature compensation which is further enhanced in the new TLE4998 sensor by unique compensation of stress over lifetime.
GMR-Based Angle Sensor
The TLE 5011 is a 360° angle sensor, which detects the orientation of a magnetic field. This is achieved by measuring sine and cosine angle components of a magnetic field with monolithic integrated Giant Magneto Resistance elements (iGMR). Data communication is accomplished via a bi-directional Synchronous Serial Communication (SSC) Interface that is SPI compatible.

The LINECHEK® Model 620L is a fully automated Line Leakage tester that can be configured to perform 8 of the most commonly required Line Leakage tests. The 620L has the most common measuring devices (MD's) already incorporated into the instrument and can perform patient lead tests with an optional scanning matrix. The 620L also features a continuous run capability which allows the DUT to be run without shutting down between line leakage tests. This remains true even in reverse polarity conditions. When configured with an optional Run test feature, the 620L can also monitor minimum and maximum readings for Voltage, Current, Watts, Power Factor, and Leakage Current. It can be configured for use in stand alone applications or as part of a test system when interconnected to any Associated Research Hipot or Ground Bond tester. The 620L may also be interconnected with the AC1000 Power source to provide clean power to the DUT and allow for full adjustment of DUT input voltage. For automated control of applied part test points, the 620L may be combined with the SC6540 modular scanning matrix. Lastly, Ethernet, RS-232 or GPIB communication interfaces allow for the automated control of the instrument.

STL's unique 26 bit ADC pioneers in a novel underwater system to measure magnetic and electric fields. Three or more sensor platforms are connected to a base station in a chain configuration by a single cable used for power and data transmission as well as for deployment and recovery. The analogue sensor front end is formed by 3 pairs of UEP Carbon electrodes followed by ultra low-noise isolation preamplifiers, a 3-axes low-noise fluxgate, and environmental temperature and pressure sensors.
The digital part is based upon a novel high performance 26 bit analogue-to digital converter. Consequent digital signal processing provide temperature and geometry compensated signal output.
The three magnetic and electric field vector components are complemented by a pair of high resolution tilt sensors to achieve the precise softwarealignment of the sensor platform with respect to magnetic North and the Earth's gravity centre. In addition the system can be equipped with sensors to measure acoustic and pressure signature as well as environmental information like water current vector, temperature and conductivity.
The sensor system includes also DGPS and, therefore, is able to track the target traces with high precision. All signal channel can be read out and visualized in quasi real-time.

Small and practical radiation monitors worn directly on the body are used for personal safety in strong electromagnetic fields. Visual and acoustic warning signals alert the user when threshold values are exceeded, for example during service work on transmitting equipment for radio relay, satellite and broadcast communications as well as radar and telecommunication facilities.
RadMan has been designed for daily use, not just as a warning and monitoring device, but also for taking quick measurements of EMF levels present in the immediate environment and detecting leaks in antenna cables.
The sensors are integrated in an orthogonal pattern, which allows them to measure electrical fields (up to 40 GHz) and magnetic fields (up to 1GHz) separately and independently of direction. This makes it simple and quick to test the EMF situation in the workplace at any time. RadMan is also an excellent tool for finding leaks in cables and power supplies for antenna connections.

Electronic precision DC load for small load currents
Where universal loads are highly inaccurate, i.e. in the range of low load currents < 10 A, the electronic DC load “ELA Precision” provides the highest of resolution and accuracy. Typically the working area ranges between a load current of < 1 A and 8 A and a load voltage of between 0.35 VDC and 160 VDC, at a maximum load power of 250 Watt.
The high resolution of the low load current in a load voltage range of over 0.35 VDC is suitable for a number of fields, in particular for applications in research and development as well as testing of solar cells and fuel cells.

Earth Leakage and its associated hazard can be prevented by residual current circuit breakers (RCCBs), also popularly known as Earth Leakage Circuit Breakers. The Selective Radiation Meter SRM-3006 from Narda Safety Test Solutions has been specially designed for environmental and safety measurements in electromagnetic fields.
