MiniCoders are designed for installation in drives as an alternative to the conventional industrial encoders. They are contact-less and are equipped with a magnetic scanning system which, in conjunction with a toothed wheel as measuring scale permits the measurement of rotary motion. This solution is exceptionally space-saving.

The electronic turn-counting technology used in the new absolute encoders POSI+ makes them very compact: in diameter 58 mm, their length is of only 45 mm. It allows also to design hollow-through shaft encoder, turn counting capabilities up to 16 bits and very high rotation speed. The max. resolution per turn is 524288 positions (19 bits).
Available in SSI and BISS interfaces, the resolution, the codes, high and low range, parity, rest to zero or other value could be programmed. Incremental signals and information about rotation speed and temperature are available.
A SSI to parallel industrial converter built-in a DB37 connector manufacturers provides parallel interface in the professional cabinet thus significantly reducing the wiring cost if parallel output is required.
The POSI+ professional encoders are available with solid shaft of 6 and 10 mm and hollow through shaft of up to 14 mm. Their excellent electro-magnetic protection allows the use in environment with high noise level. |

AMO's proven and original technology for length and angle measurements uses techniques for scanning high precision graduations
consisting of structures photo-lithographically etched onto steel. Based on this, inductive detection and integrated evaluation electronics
(in ASIC) have been developed further, to create a new and powerful generation of industrial measuring systems.
® The AMOSIN angle measuring systems are open hollow-shaft measuring systems, and generally therefore do not have their own
bearings manufacturers, nor do they require any couplings for mechanical connection.
® Operating entirely on an inductive basis, the AMOSIN systems achieve high precision figures as close as +/- 5 µm arc length, but
are nevertheless ver y well able to resist environmental influences such as dust, humidity and so forth, and also feature extremely high
resistance to shock and vibration.
The high precision is mainly due to the procedure used to manufacture the rigid steel measuring ring, and to the exceptionally high
quality sensor signal, with deviations in the sine wave down to < 0.1 % harmonic content, as a measure of the achievable interpolation
precision within the grating pitch. |

There are two types of rotary encoders: absolute and incremental. Absolute rotary professional encoders provide a coded angle information and avoid time consuming reference measurements and calculation routines in the controller. Incremental rotary encoders provide a pulse output signal and enable counters and PLC SUPPLIERS to calculate the position, speed and distance.
|

In rotary encoders with integral bearing manufacturers and stator coupling, the graduated disk of the encoder is connected directly to the shaft to be measured. The scanning unit is guided on the shaft via ball bearings supplier, supported by the stator coupling. During angular acceleration of the shaft, the stator coupling must absorb only that torque resulting from friction in the bearing, thereby minimizing both static and dynamic measuring error. Moreover, the coupling mounted on the stator compensates axial motion of the measured shaft. Other benefits of the stator coupling are:

Rotary professional encoders with integral bearing that are conceived for separate shaft coupling are designed with a solid shaft. The recommended coupling to the measured shaft compensates radial and axial tolerances. Angle encoders for separate shaft joints permit higher shaft speeds.
Rotary encoders without integral bearing operate without friction. The two components - the scanning head and the scale disk, drum, or tape - are adjusted to each other during assembly. The benefits are:
