AMO's proven and original technology for length and angle measurements uses techniques for scanning high precision graduations
consisting of structures photo-lithographically etched onto steel. Based on this, inductive transducers and integrated evaluation electronics
(in ASIC) have been developed further, to create a new and powerful generation of industrial measuring systems.
® The AMOSIN angle measuring systems are open hollow-shaft measuring systems, and generally therefore do not have their own
manufacturers of bearings, nor do they require any couplings for mechanical connection.
® Operating entirely on an inductive basis, the AMOSIN systems achieve high precision figures as close as +/- 5 µm arc length, but
are nevertheless ver y well able to resist environmental influences such as dust, humidity and so forth, and also feature extremely high
resistance to shock and vibration.
The high precision is mainly due to the procedure used to manufacture the rigid steel measuring ring, and to the exceptionally high
quality sensor signal, with deviations in the sine wave down to < 0.1 % harmonic content, as a measure of the achievable interpolation
precision within the grating pitch. |

Angle industrial encoders
The term angle encoder is typically used to describe encoders that have an accuracy of better than ± 5" and a line count above 10000. These devices are used in applications such as NC manufacturers of rotary tables, swivel heads of unit tools, dividing apparatuses, high-precision angle measuing tables, precision devices in angular metrology, professional antennas and telescopes.
Shaft encoders
Rotary encoders from HEIDENHAIN serve as measuring sensors for rotary motion, angular velocity and also, when used in conjunction with mechanical measuring standards such as leadscrews, for linear movement. Application areas include electrical motors, machine tools, professional printing machines, woodworking machines, textile machines, professional robots and handling devices, as well as various types of measuring, testing, and industrial inspection devices.
With incremental angle encoders and rotary encoders, the current position is determined by starting at a datum and counting measuring steps, or by subdividing and counting signal periods. Incremental encoders from HEIDENHAIN feature reference marks, which must be scanned after switch-on to reestablish the datum. Incremental rotary encoders with commutation signalssupply the angular shaft position value - without requiring previous traverse - with sufficient accuracy to correctly control the phases of the rotating field of a permanent-magnet three-phase motor.

The RESR and SiGNUM%u2122 RESM angle industrial encoders feature a ±5 arc second professional scale graduated axially onto a stainless-steel ring. Available in a range of 20 diameters (from Ø52 mm to Ø550 mm), Renishaw's angle encoders have a low cross-section and a large internal diameter to position easily around large internal rotors, payloads or services.
The rings also feature a unique taper mount which corrects for eccentricity of the rotor/shaft and ensures excellent accuracy, offering easy and robust fine adjustment of the ring's form and all installation tolerances. In addition, the rings offer a very low moment of inertia ensuring that whatever the installation, the system can be positioned with minimal torque and maximum speed.

PRAS1: Contact-Free 360° Angle Sensor in Ultra-Compact M-12 Housing
ASM GmbH sets the new benchmark for angular position detectors with the new development of a magnetic angle sensor in a very compact M12 housing. The PRAS1 sensor provides absolute position measurement over full 360° sensing range and is part of the successful POSIROT® family of magnetic angular sensors. With only a 1/2 inch diameter and overall length of less than 2 inches, this small sensor saves space and can be installed in the tightest locations.
The contact-free and wear-free angular measurement of 0° to 360° is achieved by using a position magnet. PRAS1 has a typical resolution of 0.1° and yields an analog signal through the use of a D/A professional converter. Three different analog outputs are available: 4-20 mA, 0.5-4.5 V and 0.5-10V. The industrial housing is rated up to IP68.
With its dependable and rugged design, the PRAS1 angle sensor is well suited for angle monitoring in a wide variety of heavy duty applications such as factory automation equipment, variable cock controls, mobile working machines, etc.

| The QR angle sensor is designed to measure non contact rotary displacement from 0 to 360 degrees without mechanical stop. A magnet needs to be fitted to the rotating axle and the sensor can be mounted opposite with a maximum 5 mm gap. This gives plenty of room for mechanical tolerances in extreme circumstances. In combination with our robust QUADRO® (PDF) housing you get a accurate sensor that withstands a few knocks. We supply a range of electronic input / output options with 8, 10 or 12-bits resolution to cater for the wide range of applications. Custom design housing with or without integrated magnet are an option. |
|
| The Schaevitz® line of rotary position transducers offers high reliability for absolute rotary position measurements in a range of specialized applications. The combination of a coder with ends of the road in the same case increases the reliability and the safety of the machines, because of two independent checking circuits in the same case.
The coder integrated provided information uninterrupted of the movement in 5-30 VDC with a resolution from 100 to 5000 increments. The programmable ends of the road, the catch of origin are regulated freely with the position wished.
The adjustment of the ends of the road is very simple: the case is assembled on the machine, the machine is then led manually to its limiting position, the end of the road is positioned with a key of programming. This procedure is repeated for the other end of the road.
The case is well protects by its cap against dust or any external intervention; all the signals are cabled on a manufacturers of connector with the back of the case.
These cases can also be provided with potentiometric.
COMP' AUT will be able to best advise the customer in the choice of the case being appropriate for its application.

Absolute encoders are devices used to measure lengths or angles and are used as distance gauges in line tools, in handling and automation technology and on testing units.
Absolute industrial encoders
These output positional information in the form of a numerical value (code). This numerical value is unique across the entire resolution range of the absolute encoder. For this reason no initial reference run is required, as is the case with incremental encoders.
With shaft encoders, a distinction is made between single-turn encoders, which provide a resolution on just a single rotation and then revert to 0, and multi-turn encoders that provide a resolution over several rotations. A further distinction is made between optical and magnetic encoders. |
|
| Absolute encoders have a unique value (voltage, binary count, etc) for each mechanical position. When an absolute industrial encoder is turned on, the position of an absolute encoder is known. |
|
A speciality of these industrial measuring systems is the ease with which it can be integrated into customers existing mechanics, regardless of
whether the mechanical parts are supplied to us for integration of the measuring ring, or whether AMO manufactures the special
mechanical parts, incorporating the scale body, in accordance with customers' drawings. |
