The prestigious Belgian institute ISSeP of Liege provided Elcis with the latest certifications ATEX II 2 G D Ex d II C T6 - Ex tD A21 IP 6x T85°C and Ex d II C T5 - Ex tD A21 IP 6x T100°C, according to CENELEC rules and CESI provided the Product Quality Assurance Notification.
This absolute encoder series is suitable for use on working environments with explosive atmosphere (except for mines with grisù) due to gas (G) and/or dust (D).
The available models are extremely sturdy; they are made in turned from rod metal with precision bearings and stainless steel shaft.

IGP Series
Using this manufacturer of potentiometer a maximum angular rotation of 3800° can be converted into a voltage proportional to the angle of rotation, through the medium of a conductive-plastic potentiometer.
This special "heavy-duty" version is designed to measure angular or linear displacement under the most difficult of enviromentat conditions. Simply yet robustly built, these units are suitable for use in all manner of industrial applications and engineering industry.
The cast housing is watertight. The single stage gearing is exceptionally backlash-free. Heavy-duty manufacturers of bearings allow for high axial loading on the industrial shaft; gearwheels or even chain drives may be used directly drive the shaft.
Sealing is achieved through the use of a stepped bush whilst electrical connections are made via industrial plug and socket mounted on the side of the unit.

Our phased-array ASIC technology allows for the widest air gap in the industry, with an approximate 0.030" air gap vs. other masked technology processes requiring air gaps of 0.003-0.005". Incremental professional encoder is the term given to sensors for recording changes in position (linear or rotating) that can measure both the distance and direction of travel.
They are also known as optical encoders.
Unlike industrial measuring systems that work continuously, incremental encoders have a solid measure with a repeating periodic counting track. The measurement is based on a directional reference and a count. |
