With the magnetic distance- and angle industrial measuring systems of SIKO, compact single systems can be assembled.
Besides distance and angle also rotation can be recorded. Special sensors register the incremental segmentation of magnetic rings with a resoultion of up to 20.000 pulses per revolution. Advantages of the magnetic measuring principle are, insensitive against dirt and a flexible magnetic tape. Also with adverse environmental influences, a successful operation and an individual application is guaranted.

INTRA transfers inductive signals from one or multiple Bircher SafeTecâ sensing edges to an electronic unit for evaluation. The redundant evaluation meets the requirements of the German standard ZH1/494 for professional doors and gates.
The main advantage of INTRA is the capability to monitor sensing edges without mechanical or direct electrical connections between the stationary and moving part of a sliding gate. Compared to conventional sensing edge signal transmission via trailing cable, the INTRA system is virtually maintenance free. |

J16PS, J12PS, J10PS Position sensors: A Ge, InAs, or InSb position sensor consists of a single element photodiode with a quadruple electrode geometry. These devices can provide linear X-Y beam position information for professional lasers and other infrared beams. Positioning information is determined as shown in Figure 1. The PA6:4C preamplifier is recommended for Judson position sensitive detectors.
J16QUAD, J10QUAD, J15QUAD Quadrant Detectors: A Ge, InAs, or HgCdTe quadrant detector consists of four separate detector elements arranged in a quadrant geometry with element separations of approximately 0.05mm. The PA7:4 preamplifier is available for J16Quad and J10Quad detectors. |

The ODS Red-line program is a series of sensors based on optical triangulation, with different measuring ranges and resolutions. All made to be used environments, ranging from the very hot and harsh applications in the heavy industry to delicate applications in the laboratory. Some models are particularly appropriate for cold or hot rolling of steel and metals. The ODS Red-line sensors are used either for larger measuring ranges or for applications where a long stand-of distance is needed along with high resolution.
Nine different measuring ranges are available, the smallest cover 450 to 550 mm and the largest 2000 to 4000 mm. ODS Red-line sensors are available with measuring frequencies of 1 kHz, 2 kHz and 5 kHz. Higher measuring frequencies deliver shorter distance between the individual measuring points on a moving target, and also increase the possibility of averaging sufficiently to obtain the required high resolution.
All ODS Red-line sensors are supplied with a Select functionality, allowing the sensor to be programmed to calculate a user defined running average. Free software provides easy setting of the Select parameters.

With our new Professional laser-Distance Sensors DLS-B you measure absolute distances up to 500 meters. Thanks to state of the art laser technology the DLS-B device measures with a precision of 1.5 millimeters. It represents a cost efficient solution even at extreme environment temperatures as low as -40° C.
The DLS-B is an optical measuring device. You can measure, maintenance-free, distances on natural and reflective surfaces. You determine positions on objects difficult to access or with very high surface temperatures. Just as well you can measure distances in an aggressive environment in an easy and accurate way.
Serial, analog and digital interfaces are standard features for the complete DLS-B product line. This enables you to easily connect the DLS-B to a control system (SPS, IPC or PC)
The DLS-B device runs in a “Stand-alone-mode” and independently executes all programmed functions. Thanks to the flexible range of functions an external display can be connected directly to the DLS-B device via interface RS232 or RS422. Via a digital input, measurements can also be activated from an external button or switch.
For easy configuration of the DLS-B devices, the necessary software is at your disposal |

What is a professional laser?
Laser light consists of light waves of identical length which have a defined phase relation (coherence).
Laser systems also have a relatively small angle of radiation.
What are the distinctive features of laser systems?
Laser systems are used where detection of small objects or precise positioning is required. Due to the small angle of divergence this can be achieved over long ranges.
How dangerous are laser sensors?
Due to the small angle of divergence laser beams are focussed on a small area. The energy and power density on this area is extremely high. Depending on the technical data of the laser professional transmitter, this is a risk for human health, specially for the eye. ifm laser detection conform to the Euro standard EN60825 and the international standard IEC60825. These standards describe the operation of laser systems. In the standard laser systems are divided in 5 classes.
ifm laser sensors are classified in the laser protection class 2. Thus the laser power, also in the setting mode is max. 1 mW. When the laser beam hits the human eye the eyelid is instinctively closed. When hitting the unprotected eye the laser beam must cause no damage within a time of 0.25 s. |
