Thermtrol's temperature probe thermostats meet the exacting demands of the toughest industrial and commercial applications. Probe thermostats are thermally sensitive bimetallic switches housed in a rugged brass or stainless steel case. The switches are manufactured to either make or break an electrical circuit at a factory pre-set temperature and reset automatically on cooling. Some devices can be used as controlling thermostats, which cycle open and closed more rapidly to maintain a temperature level. Other devices can be used as over-temperature protectors to limit a temperature from exceeding a predetermined value. Thermtrol offers complete design flexibility for custom probe thermostats. We draw from an extensive inventory of standard components and build the thermostat that is correct for your application.

| Mineral Insulated Thermocouples are manufactured from mineral oxide insulated metal sheathed cable. Mineral Insulated Cable consists of thermocouple wire insulated by compacted magnesium oxide surrounded by a metal sheath. TCP's Thermo-Pak M. I. Cable is manufactured to exacting standards from the highest quality materials available to ensure accurate and reliable performance with long life. Mineral insulated thermocouples are more durable, faster responding, longer lasting and capable for use at higher temperatures than ceramic insulator or fiberglass insulated thermocouples because the wires are encased and protected by compacted insulation and the metal sheath. Maximum operating temperatures of thermo-pak manufactured thermocouples are determined by the wire calibration type and the sheath alloy selected. |
|
Mineral Insulated (MIR and MIT) Sensor
Both the MIR and MIT sensors are manufactured from ready made, stock lengths of stainless steel sheathed, mineral insulated signal or thermocouple wire.
These sensors can be produced in either PT100 RTD or thermocouple formats.
The soft annealed stainless steel sheath is flexible and allows the user to bend and shape the sheath when required. MI´s are available from as small as 0.5mm in diameter, far smaller than is possible with fabricated rigid stems and as such are extremely flexible, though not as robust.
Various diameters and grades of stainless steel are also available to suit process requirements. These sensors are supplied as plain stems with lead wire as standard, alternatively terminal heads are available when required and various process connections to suit.
Sensors are available in single, duplex or triplex formats with resistance thermometers available in 2, 3 or 4 wire connection.

The bearings of industrial rotating equipment operate under arduous conditions - often for considerable periods of time. The most reliable indicator of bearing condition is the temperature of the metal beneath the shoe.
Recognition of rising temperature can provide a warning of the breakdown of the lubricating oil film; thus allowing machine shutdown and maintenance to take place - avoiding the probable catastrophic failure of the bearing and possible damage to its mounting. Conax Miniature Bearing Sensors provide a simple and cost-effective method to monitor bearing temperatures.
Features:
- For embedded applications in rotating machines
- RTDs - 100 ohm platinum, 0.00385 ohm/ohm/°C
- Thermocouples types J, K, T & E
- Single and duplex sensors
- Various styles and sizes
- Operating Temperature: to 250° F ( 120° C) |
|
Miniature Bearing (MBS) Sensor
A critical indication of the status of bearings on large rotating plant is provided by their running temperature.
Due to its small physical size the miniature bearing sensor can be positioned close to the bearing surface allowing it to sense any early change in temperature.
These devices are available in both thermocouple and PT100 resistance thermometer format and can be supplied as either single or duplex sensors. The sensor lead wire insulation is in PTFE and if necessary lead wire jackets can be protected with stainless steel outer braid.
BSWS Bearing sensor wire seal assemblies are low temperature/low pressure glands for embedded sensors to prevent oil wicking along the sensor leads. They seal on the individual insulated leads exiting an oil-filled bearing housing.
Typical aplications are motors, turbines, pumps & journal bearing pedestals. |
