A Mineral Insulated (MI) Cable is a metallic cable with ceramic powder insulation packed tightly around the inner wires. Insulators for use in Mineral Insulated Cable production go by many names including crushable insulators, swageable insulators, preforms, beads, pellets, cores, or blocks. This is a uniquely engineered product which is designed to crush into a fine powder upon compression by modest forces.
MI Cable is made by stringing ceramic preforms with thermocouple element wires and loading the threaded assembly into a refractory metal sheath. This assembly can then be subjected to a series of drawing operations to reduce the diameter and elongate the part. The end result is a long coil of small diameter cable with a tight packing of ceramic powder to electrically insulate the wires and sheath.
Dimensionally, the requirements are obvious. Tight dimensional control is needed to permit design engineers to adequately predict the finished results. The holes must be properly positioned and accept the wire under all combinations of tolerance limits. The threaded assembly must fit into the sheath in very long lengths. The ends need to be square and smooth to prevent voids which may cause elongation problems.Because the assemblies usually consist of many insulators strung together, length tolerances are not critical, but uniform lengths are easier to use.

When voltage fails in the network or mains, or in an independent system, power supply will be provided by fuel cells.
Insulation of individual surfaces of a fuel cell from one another, and provision of the required spacing between them is effected by using ceramic spacers. Fuel cells are subjected from the inside to super-extreme thermal, chemical and mechanical loads. Strips and connection components operating under very high loads have been developed by specialists of the FRIALIT - DEGUSSIT Division jointly with the customers.

ZIP-EX-2® Zippered Cable Shielding
ZIP-EX-2 cable shielding provides convenient, EMI and EMP shielding of cable harnesses for computers, communications equipment and other interference-sensitive electronic systems. It can be zipped on and off quickly, before or after the cable is installed.
The shielding medium is Ferrex knitted wire mesh with a protective cover of heavy-duty vinyl, a combination that provides flexibility and durability as well as positive shielding. A brass slide fastener with rugged teeth crimped to a steel cord inside the knitted wire mesh provides continuous positive closure.
SHIELD WRAP™ Wire Mesh Tape
SHIELD WRAP™ wire mesh EMI shielding tape is designed to wrap easily around cables and harnesses, and will reduce corona discharge in addition to providing EMI shielding. It has excellent flexibility and conforms easily to irregular and complex surfaces. SHIELD WRAP is produced as a two-ply, flattened cylinder of varying widths, loop spacings, wire sizes and metals. Standard mesh is either monel or Ferrex (tin-plated, copper-clad steel).
CHO-JAC® Flat Cable Shielding
CHO-JAC® shielding is a high quality, flat cable jacket designed to attenuate RF signals and bring digital electronic devices into EMC compliance at an attractive cost. This lightweight, flexible jacket is designed with a 360-degree aluminum or copper shield bonded with a metal overlap to a polyester layer. Metal-to-metal contact is established as the jacket wrap is completed. This design provides the maximum EMI shielding when properly sealed and terminated. Integral wires simplify folding and termination, and provide crack resistance. CHO-JAC shielding passes the flame retardancy requirements of UL specification 94V-0.
CHO-SHRINK® Heat Shrinkable Plastic Tubing
CHO-SHRINK® tubing is a heat shrinkable polyolefin tubing, which provides effective EMI shielding for cables, connectors and cable/connector terminations. CHO-SHRINK tubing offers significant weight savings over conventional metal braid shield. Chomerics' unique conductive coating is applied to the surface of the tubing and remains flexible, uniform and intact even after maximum shrinking. CHO-SHRINK tubing is available in standard thin-wall sleeves, molded boots, transitions and breakouts.
CHO-SORB® Ferrite EMI Attenuators
Cost-effective CHO-SORB® EMI ferrites reduce conducted emissions on signal lines and power cables without affecting data transmission. Chomerics' CHO-SORB ferrite attenuators allow desired signals to pass through cables or circuits while absorbing extraneous and unwanted energy. Low frequency and DC see only the conductor and are unimpeded. CHO-SORB attenuators reduce EMI for compliance with FCC, EC, VDE, and CISPR 22 limits. They install easily with no grounding required. Many configurations are available from Chomerics and through our authorized distributors.

N-X INVERTER OUTPUT FERRITES
General purpose filter
Output Ferrites (N-X) are especially effective in reducing electromagnetic interference from the motor cable, as they introduce an impedance between the Inverter and the motor.
Output ferrites are particularly useful in reducing electrical noise in the frequency range 5 to 20 MHz, as there is no other suitable noise suppression means in this frequency range. Output ferrites should be placed around the cable between the Inverter and Motor, as near as possible to the Inverter.
The cable (excluding earth wires and shielding) should pass through the ferrite at least twice.

Ferrites
Richco offers a wide variety of ferrite cores to solve all your EMI/RFI problems. Our range extends from solid, split ferrite for round and ribbon cable, to Surface Mount Devices (SMD) Ferrite chips, beads and inductors. The ferrite materials exhibit magnetic properties that are dependent upon the frequency at which they operate. The suppression of EMI has become a major concern in the electronics industry, where it is now common that EMI suppression ferrites are often used as two terminal circuit elements. Richco’s ferrite range is manufactured in a variety of materials to suppress EMI/RFI interference or a wide range of cable diameters and PCB configurations. Richco’s aim is to give you total peace of mind that your application is protected from EMI interference at all times.

TTMS tubing is flattened, heat-shrinkable tubing intended for wire and cable identification. Available in continuous spools. TTMS tubing is designed for computer-based printing using Tyco Electronics TMS 2000Plus printer. This product format makes TTMS identification tubing ideal for applications where
in-sequence kitting is not of over-riding importance, for example where several hundred identical markers are required. Large pack sizes, usually 100m (328 feet), minimise the number of spool changes necessary during production runs.
TTMS identification tubing is made from durable, flame retarded radiation-crosslinked heat-shrinkable polyolefin. The tubing meets the performance requirements of AMSDTL-23053/5 classes 1 and 3. The identification marks are
permanent immediately after printing and remain legible even when exposed to solvents, fuels and oils. The printed tubing meets the mark permanence requirements of AS-81531 and MIL-STD-202F Method 215 both before and after shrinking. Tyco Electronics recommended ribbons should always be used. The tubing has a 3:1 shrink ratio (except sizes 38.1 and50.8 which are 2:1) and cover a wide range of wire diameters, thus simplifying inventory.
