BARTEC’s plug-and-socket devices for areas in which an explosion hazard exists are particularly well-suited for use in raw atmospheres because of their high degree of IP protection and their resistance to chemicals. Their integrated switch function gives them the ability to switch overloads as per IEC/EN 60947-3 Cat. AC 22 or AC 23.Silver-plated butting contacts ensure a constant contact pressure with low transfer resistances.
Plugs/couplers:
The modular design of the plug-and-socket system allows both plugs and couplers to be supplied. They are supplied in unmounted state.
Wall socket:
BARTEC supplies both a fully certified wall socket and a socket with a 30° adapter to flange onto housings.

HIGH AMPERAGE/ROUGHNECK
Simple to Connect and Disconnect
No tools of any kind are required to connect or disconnect the connector. An external "U" shaped clevis pin locks the halves together eliminating the possibility of accidental disengagement which can cause disruption of service and electrical shock hazards. The clevis pin is designed to permit insertion of a safety wire to provide additional security or the ability to padlock.
Safety
"Roughneck" Plugs and Receptacles feature totally shielded contacts. The synthetic rubber insulator extends past the ends of both male and female contacts for complete safety. Male contacts are equipped with Cooper Interconnect Cam Lok's patented Safe Front Insulated Tip to minimize potential shock hazard. It provides the safest high amperage connector in the industry.
Positive Power Connection
Silver plated high conductivity copper alloy contacts provide minimum resistance, minimum heating.
Colored Insulators for Identification
Eight colors are available to provide easy circuit identification when mating plugs with receptacles. Color coding helps prevent reverse phasing on AC circuits or cross polarization on DC circuits to assure correct rotation of motors while providing for operator safety. The insulators can be fastened to the cable by hose clamp or by field vulcanizing. Inexpensive portable vulcanizers are available. Refer to Bulletin 590.

The single-pin High Voltage Connectors of Series-100 enable improved application-flexibility by providing different metric cable-glands. Series-MC represents our latest generation of multi-pin High Voltage Connectors. Substantially reduced in size and weight these HV-Connectors withstand operating voltages up to 10 kV DC / 13 A. They can be equipped with up to 5 contacts. Contacts can be crimped or soldered and are suitable for diverse cable diameters. Both sides of the connection can be configured as plug or socket while cable side is equipped with an EMC-gland bushing for sealing and screen-connection.
Type SB MC 520 has extended and heat resistant PTFE insulation sleeves and is the latest design of this series. The connection can handle an operating voltage of up to 20 kV DC / 13 A and is also suitable for applications with pulsed high voltage.

The multi-pin High Voltage Connectors of Series-M are anchored in a firm screw-housing, designed for operating voltages up to 15 kV DC / 30 A and can be equipped with up to 9 coded contacts. One or more leading contacts can be assigned to execute a starting sequence, an earth connection or confirm a safety loop.
