NEC SCHOTT SEFUSE™ SM Type
he NEC SCHOTT SEFUSE™ SM type is a thermal cutoff designed to protect electrical home appliances and industrial electrical equipment from catching fire. It contains a fusible alloy inside an insulated case which interrupts the electrical circuit by melting when ambient temperatures reaches abnormal levels.
Product Advantages
SM type thermal cutoffs:
- Are stable and operate with precision to ensure maximum safety for the operation of electrical equipment
- Can be mounted directly where temperature detection is required without insulation
- Have fast thermal response due to their shape and small size
- Have a resin-seal which ensures strong reliability and accuracy
Applications
The SM type is used in many different electrical products, such as in power supplies, motors, battery packs and automobiles.

The 215 series is 5x20, Ceramic body, Time-Lag type Cartridge fuse. With the extension into higher current ratings beyond existing 12A, from 15A up to 25A in cartridge version, in particular for 20A and 25A, it offers designers better flexibility in circuit protection design for high current applications.
The 215 Series has remarkable interrupting capability at operating voltage of 250VAC.
In addition, it can be used in AC applications, and it provides a smaller footprint of 5 x 20mm as compared to 6.3 x 32mm for same applications.
Features:
Offer high ampere ratings
Provide remarkable interrupting capacity
UL agency approval
Applications:
Primary and Secondary protection for White Goods, UPS/Power Supplies, High current applications
