| MTM Power GmbH, the specialist for high-quality power supplies, offers in its program DC/DC converters for railway applications of the series HVC with 150 W and 250 W. These devices are available with an input range of 400…975 VDC and the standard output voltages of 24 VDC and 36 VDC. With these high voltage converters it is possible to supply electronical equipment out of 600 V / 750 V contact wire. The DC/DC converters are used for supplying points, signal lamps and electronic monitoring of the rail net. The specific feature of the series HVC is its use as a self starting module for trams or trolley buses with exhaustive discharged batteries so that the towing process can be avoided. The rugged design together with high-quality components guarantee the high reliability in vehicles even under severe shock and vibration conditions. The high efficiency of 83 % allows an operation without forced ventilation. Moreover the converters work with an ambient temperature range from –40…+85 °C acc. to EN 50 155. |

Performance:
The CLF series generators provide stable process power up to 5 kW. The half-rack supplies operate at any fixed frequency from 20 to 50 kHz. The full- rack models can operate at any fixed frequency from 20 to 450 kHz or auto-tuned up to +/- 15% bandwidth. In many applications, the combination of auto-tune and excess power headroom will allow delivery of power to changing reactive loads without the need for mechanically tuned matching networks.
Applications:
The CLF series is designed to meet the performance demand in RF-driven plasma systems for semiconductor processing. Applications include etch, RIE, parallel plate, ICP, RF sputtering, CVD and PVD, as well as induction and dielectric heating processes in industrial systems. |

Looking into the future!
Finland, Jyvaskala January 2006 Jean Mueller launched their new IP20 protected L-shaped busbar system for the Scandinavian market. This system was especially designed for the Jean Mueller, vertical SL-fuse switch disconnector cassette system to protect people from touching the live copper bars. Next to their already existing busbar solution with flat copper bars this completes the ranges for the Scandinavian market. The question now rises if there is an enclosure solution which can handle both busbar systems into one solution?
The Eldon answer for the ABB and Jean Muller Vertical cassettes
In close co-operation with both ABB and Jean Mueller, Eldon has developed a ready to use market solution for both types of cassettes. The SL-fuse disconnector of JM and the InLine cassette of ABB. The new enclosure type is called MCBAxxxxV for Vertical mounting of the units. Customers who are buying the Eldon Multi-Flex® solution can decide either to build-in the IP20 protected busbar system or the standards flat copper busbar solution. Both will fit.

Rail system
The Bestapower rail as core unit in the system serves simultaneously as a compressed air line, as a running rail for carriages and stations as well as a profile for the energy carrier system and peripheral equipment such as lighting.
Rails are available as straight and as bent elements. Rail segments are up to 6 metres long. Couplings, end pieces and fastening elements complete the rail system. |
|
Work stations
Work stations facilitate the provision of tools, small parts, testing devices etc. directly at the workplace. Their modular structure ensures individual solutions to meet specific
requirements in respect of ergonomics, productivity and operating convenience.
Tool holders
Like work stations, tool holders permit the convenient arrangement of tools and small parts directly at the workplace. Their modular construction ensures individual
solutions to meet specific requirements in respect of ergonomics, productivity and operating convenience.
Energy carrier system
Using the energy carrier system a defined working area of 3 to 18 metres can be continuously supplied with energy (compressed air and/or electricity). The energy is supplied by means of the air hose inserted in the energy chain and/or a power cable.
Data lines can also be integrated. The energy is supplied through fixed tapping stations.
For energy carrier systems rails without tapping valves or connection plates are normally used.
They can be coupled with work stations, tool holders and tool carriages. |

Intuitive interface makes operation simple. Little or no learning curve required to operate system.
A main screen with navigation buttons and non-system critical button/switches.
System testing screen allowing the operator to manually initiate automatic system testing operations.
Generator interface settings latched into the PLC control system upon entry.
System load add/shed manual control redundant to hard-wired manual control switches in master control.
Generator optimization settings latched into PLC control system upon entry.
The system is designed to dynamically add or shed load based on the system load level rather than using inflexible load blocks.
The system is programmed to dynamically track the size of each load individually. This allows the system to quickly determine exactly how many loads are to be added to or shed from the system, whether it is in the middle of the afternoon or in the middle of the night.
A GE governor controller is supplied which has the functionality required by different applications and the flexibility to communicate with all types of existing engines. (Can be used in conjunction with speed controller or can do it itself.)
Capable of soft loading and unloading the generator.
Var/pf controller built in, load sharing (kW and kVar).
Equipped with its own automatic synchronizer that checks for voltage matching. |

The MPC32A is a robust industrial phase angle power controller handling up to 4.5kW of power. The smooth integral potentiometer is used to control the power from 0% to 100%. Below the 0% setting the potentiometer is switched so that the load is isolated from the supply live.
Connection to load and supply is simply via two wires.
Abbey Electronics also supply suitable EMC filters to use with the control.

The range of REOVIB System 500 modules comprises phase-angle controllers for vib-ratory feeders and a timer module used with systems that have track control.
The REOVIB 506 is designed for controlling bowl or linear feeders up to 2A current rating. The output frequency 50Hz/100Hz (60Hz/120Hz) is selected to suit the feeder. In the regulation circuit there is built-in compensation for mains variations. The set-point for the feed rate is derived from a potentiometer and the set-point range can be linearised by using two trimmers Umin/Umax. Furthermore, an enable input is provided for start/stop operation. Fixings are provided for rail mounting to DIN EN 50022-35.

The usual practice for reactive energy correction in industrial electrical systems, consists in connecting capacitors, some times fixed or generally controlled using automatic power factor regulators. However, directly connecting capacitors to the system is not always possible for several reasons, such as:
The existence of harmonic currents, generated by non lineal loads.
The possibility of resonance between capacitors and certain inductive loads or even the reactive dispersion of the supply transformer.
Generation of microcuts or other disturbances in the voltage at the time of connecting the capacitors, if the system's short circuit power is insufficient.
Lessening high frequency command signals transmitted through the system.
It is necessary to add reactances for each of these cases, sometimes to filter disturbances or others to obtain an appropriate rejection of harmonics or high frequency signals and to meet international standards on these events.
CIRCUTOR has developed a complete manufacturing program for power filters to correct the following problems:
Correcting resonance problems
Harmonic rejection in certain parts of the installation
Absorption of harmonics to reduce THD in the installation

Single-Phase EMI/EMC Filter
Single-phase filters for chassis or DIN-rail mounting are key for EMC compliance of higher power office equipment and low to medium power industrial applications. A broad selection of electrical and mechanical features allows a specific choice and deployment for countless applications. |
|
Three-phase and neutral line filters are a compact solution for the interference suppression on the mains input of cabinets and control units of equipment, ranging from industrial applications like machine tools to sensitive medical installations. These typically involve separate and often
insufficiently filtered frequency inverters and SMPS, causing current imbalance and significant interference problems. As individual elements they may be interference-suppressed already. The conjunction of several switching components in the same cabinet and a non-EMC conscious cabling will rise the demand for an additional EMC filter on the mains input of the whole installation. Many times this is the only way to get the CE mark for the cabinet in accordance with the EMC directive. |
