GE TRANQUELL® arresters are designed and tested in
accordance with ANSI/IEEE C62.11 and IEC 99-4[2,3].
The standard TRANQUELL arrester consists of a stack
of metal oxide disks mounted in a sealed housing.
Each disk is wedged in place offering protection against
physical damage during shipment and installation.
On the end faces of each disk, a conducting surface
is applied to assure proper contact and uniform current distribution.
TRANQUELL arresters provide exceptional overvoltage
protection of major power system equipment.
Under normal system conditions, the arrester conducts
less than one milliampere. When a surge reaches the arrester,
the arrester conducts only the current necessary to limit
the overvoltage. As a result, TRANQUELL arresters absorb
minimum energy to protect equipment insulation. |

| Raychem%u2019s PolySwitch devices are used to help protect against harmful overcurrent surges, and overtemperature faults. Like traditional fuses, these devices limit the flow of dangerously high current during fault conditions. The PolySwitch device, however, resets after the fault is cleared and power to the circuit is removed, thereby reducing warranty, service and repair costs. |

| GE TRANQUELL® . Secondary arrester is specifically designed to protect utility, agricultural, and industrial installations and equipment in the 120-600 volt range from overvoltages caused by lightning discharges. It is available for both single- and three- phase applications. |
|
Surge and Noise protection is required to protect against all internally and externally generated transients. Ideally, there is surge protection for every copper wire that enters or exits a facility including data/signal lines.
The majority of transients are internally generated in most manufacturing facilities making protection at distribution branch and control panels critical. If low voltage data/signal lines are not protected, the facility is essentially leaving a backdoor open for transients. Isolated equipment level protection helps reduce electrical line noise. |
|
Citel BP1 and B480 surge protectors have been designed to protect your single and dual telephone lines against harmful lightning surges and electrical transients. The electrical diagram is based on GDT and fast clamping diode to guarentee a maximum eff
Utilize a hybrid technology that combines a fast response time (< 1 ns) and a high power handling capability of 10kA (8/20ms waveform).

Even small overvoltages can disable sensitive electronic equipment, computer networks and computer-controlled production systems in fractions of a second. For protection against overvoltages which can result from lightning or switching processes in electrical supply networks, OBO offers a wide range of surge and lightning arresters for the German and international markets. These include not only devices to protect AC networks of various voltage levels, but also special systems for data lines and telecommunication devices, and protective modules for process measurement and control systems.
With the new LightningControllern, OBO presents innovative lightning protection systems with patented multi-carbon technology in the new VBS catalogue. The first modular spark gap for perfect integration into distribution systems. The great advantage of the new units is that they have a fully encapsulated housing. This means no more arcing! This eliminates the risk of fires in the distribution box due to sparking.
The OBO range of systems for external and internal lightning protection is also complete. All components have passed the tests imposed by the Lightning Protection and EMC Technology Centre in Menden and have the corresponding test marks and certificates. |
