The relay type STR is intended for the complete protection of high power motors, with medium voltage or low voltage supply. Several protection functions, incorporated in a single relay, assure the protection of the motor against all the different fault conditions: overheating caused by mechanical overload or by an abnormal supply, locked rotor, too long starting, interruption of one phase conductor, current unbalance, short circuit between phases, short circuit between turns, earth fault, underload running, too frequent startings.

The SIPROTEC 4 7UM61 and 7UM62 protection relays can do more than just protect. They also offer numerous additional functions. Be it earth faults, short-circuits, overloads, overvoltage, overfrequency or underfrequency asynchronous conditions, protection relays assure continued operation of power stations. They are compact units which has been specially developed and designed for the protection of small, medium-sized and large generators.
They integrate all the necessary protection functions and are particularly suited for the protection of:
Hydro and pumped-storage generators
Co-generation stations
Private power stations using regenerative energy sources such as wind or biogases
Diesel generator stations
Gas-turbine power stations
Industrial power stations
Conventional steam power stations.
The combination of functions incorporated in the 7UM62 also offers excellent all-round protection for transformers, large asynchronous motors, synchronous motors.

The SIPROTEC 7SJ602 is a numerical overcurrent relay which, in addition to its primary use in radial distribution networks and motor protection, can also be employed as backup for feeder, transformer and generator differential protection. It provides definite-time and inverse-time overcurrent protection along with overload and negative-sequence protection for a very comprehensive relay package. In this way, equipment such as motors can be protected against asymmetric and excessive loading.

The SEL-551 Overcurrent/Reclosing Relay replaces the many relays, control switches, and wiring required in traditional distribution substation protection and control panels. The relay also replaces line recloser control packages at a fraction of the cost. Protect distribution feeders, distribution buses, transformers, capacitors, and circuit breakers. Select the "fast bus" trip scheme when protecting a distribution bus. Choose "fast" or "slow" curve operation to allow for cold load pickup. Connect the separate neutral current input to accommodate core-balance current transformers, separate neutral current transformers, tertiary winding current transformers, or CT ground residual circuits.
|
|
Provide simple and economical protection for transformers, breakers, motors, capacitor banks, feeders, and other apparatus. Install the SEL-501 Relay in two-high breaker switchgear to protect two separate feeders, providing primary or backup protection on each feeder.
Set one side of the dual relay for a feeder application, and set the other side for a breaker failure application using the simple menu system. Connect one side of the dual relay to transfomer high-side CTs for transformer overload and overcurrent protection. Connect the other side of the relay to the neutral CT on the wye side of a delta-wye transformer for sensitive internal ground fault protection and backup external fault protection. Apply both sets of overcurrent relay elements on the same feeder, and cover a wide range of fault currents, while maintaining accuracy of measured load and fault current magnitudes.

Type IAC relays are used in the protection of industrial and utility power systems against either phase or ground overcurrent. They are single phase (although some models contain more than one unit), non-directional, current sensitive, AC devices. The basic operating mechanism (the time unit) produces one of several available operating characteristics. The operating time is inversely related to operating current which permits close coordination with other protective devices. It consists of a magnetic core operating coil, an induction disc, damping magnet, and a mechanical target. The IAC relay may also include one or more hinged armature instantaneous overcurrent units, with integral target.

The Intelligent Transmitter pairs with the iT Alarm, a DIN-rail mountable alarm with three programmable relays for use in vibration monitoring systems or process control systems. The iT401 Alarm, which compares the 4-20 mA input from the transmitter against user-defined high or low setpoints, triggers the relays and/or provides an alert when the input deviates from acceptable levels. The front panel controls and digital LED readout make this unit very user friendly.
The real advantage of this unit is that it can also be used with any 4-20 mA sensor, including pressure, temperature, flow, speed and especially Wilcoxons popular LPS vibration sensors.

The SK-Series Control Relay is designed to be used in conjunction with safety elements such as Safety Contact Mats, Safety Contact Edges or Safety Contact Bumpers. The SK series relay utilized a current principle for monitoring the safety contact elements. This method of monitoring makes certain that the high demands for fault recognition as well as for safety are met. Relay switch status along with operating voltage status is displayed via LEDs. SK Series Relays are available in a variety of models depending on the application and conform to safety categories 2 and 3, EN 954-1 and are certified.

The SafeC 200 safety relay takes over the evaluation of all standard safety components such as e.g. light curtains, emergency STOP buttons, safety edges or interlock switches.
Thanks to the high-performance integrated safety circuits of the SafeC 200, for the majority of applications no supplementary relay is needed. Additionally multiple status outputs ensure a simple communication with every standard SPS and guarantee a reliable and faultless controlling. Even the most demanding of applications relating to Safety Category 2 of EN 954-1 are fulfilled by the SafeC 200 safety relay.

Safety-implemented circuits must be control reliable as mandated in U.S. and European standards. Control reliability is not provided by simple redundancy. There must also be monitoring of the safety circuitry to assure that redundancy is maintained. Monitoring may be achieved by using Omron STI safety monitoring relays that range in function from two-hand palm button control to dual channel input units with time-delayed outputs that conform to ANSI B11.19-2003, Section 6.1 for Performance of the Safety Related Function(s). All safety relays carry the CE mark and are designed to incorporate three points of safety in their operation to meet both European and U.S. requirements. All safety relays are UL and C-UL listed.
