Command devices are of great importance for the man-machine interface in the area of industrial applications. For example, they are mounted in switch-boards, control panels, two-hand control panels, in lift manufacture and on materials-handling plants, including conveyors. Manual actuation of the devices starts operating sequences and functional processes or serves to bring these to an end.
Emergency Stop command devices are generally connected in the safety circuit of a machine or plant and are of particular importance in terms of the control system for these. In case of a fault or accident, the secure function and quick accessibllity of Emergency Stop command devices can be crucial for saving life, limiting the degree of injury to personnel or the extent of damage to a machine.
New requirements are placed on the mode of operation of these command devices by the new harmonised European Standard EN 418 regarding functional aspects and recommendations for the arrangement of Emergency Stop equipment.

Safely equipped for all cases
According to EN 292-2 (Machine safety), movable guards must be provided with safety switches. Protective door bolts for protective devices work in tandem with SICK safety switches. On deliberate opening of the protective device, the N/C contact of the safety switch is opened and the hazardous motion of the machine is brought to a standstill.
Developed for harsh industrial everyday use
SICK products easily withstand harsh conditions such as impacts and vibrations. Opening, closing and locking is reliably guaranteed over a long lifetime. SICK safety switches are available in plastic or metal versions.

Explosion proof switches are used wherever the ambient conditions are such that the presence of inflammable substances, oxygen and a source of ignition are to be anticipated simultaneously. The primary applications are to be found in the chemical and petro-chemical industries as well as paint lines. Protection against explosions is often also necessary where a large collection of line powder can develop such that a movement of air can lead to a spontaneous detonation. Examples include mills, wood processing and food processing industry.

Sealed and high temperature precision switches contain a spring and set of contacts that convert mechanical energy applied to an actuator into an electrical output. Environmentally sealed switches are basic precision switches enclosed within a corrosion-resistant aluminum housing that seals the switch contacts from contamination. Hermetically sealed switches include those that maintain the contact in a gas-tight seal while transmitting force and motion to the switch mechanism through a metal diaphragm. High temperature versions have the switching element mounted on a ceramic base with a stainless steel enclosure. Wide variety of actuators, terminations, circuitry configurations, electrical ratings, contact materials and operating characteristics provide application flexibility. Meet military standards. U.S., European and other approval agency allow global use.
Best Used For:
Presence/absence detection where physical contact with an object is permissible as well as applications requiring compactness, light weight, accurate repeatability and long life such as are found in aerospace agriculture, transportation, construction, marine, ordnance and command and control equipment.

With most elevators the position of the elevator car is determined by magnetic switches. Here the elevator technology division of the Schmersal group offers an extensive program. In addition the assembly-friendly, contact-free USP system is at the disposal, with which the car position is determined over the running time of the ultrasonic signals in a special wire.

Safety coded magnetic sensor, SR-SM series
Pizzato Elettrica offers on the market the new safety magnetic sensor SR-SM series.
Safety magnetic sensors are devices studied to monitor protections and guards that, when linked to a safety module, can create a system up to safety category 4, according to EN 954-1. These products are composed by a magnetic field monitoring sensor, which is connected to the machine structure; and by a coded magnetic actuator, which has to be connected to the mobile guards. The sensor is manufactured to be activated only by the correct coded actuator and not through a common magnet.
Pizzato Elettrica safety sensors distinguish themselves by following main features:
• Insensitivity to dirt as totally sealed, making them especially proper to be used in the food-industry sector.
• Wide actuation zone, characteristic appreciated in the use of inaccurate protections or for protections that can change their mechanical characteristics through the time.
• Stainless steel fixing plates to avoid that the sensor could be damaged during the installation.
• Possibility of connection in series more sensors also with mechanical switches.
• Actuation from two different directions.
• Available with cable or M8 integrated connector.
• Actuators with operating distance of 5mm or 8 mm.
The new sensor series complete the wide range of products that Pizzato Elettrica can offer in the machine safety field. For further information visit our web-site www.pizzato.com or ask for special documentation. |

The Idemag CPR Non Contact Interlock Switch range offers a compact slimline fitting and provides environmental protection up to 80C. and is suitable for high pressure hosing (IP66/67).
The housing is finished and sealed with a fitted back plate for extra mechanical and environmental durability.
In addition to the high specification enclosure the switch offers a wide 14mm sensing distance, a high tolerance to misalignment and can be actuated rom either the side or front switch face.
They will connect to most popular Safety Monitoring relays to provide up to Cat. 4 EN 954-1. |

The Series 59 Maintained Action Switches further extends the comprehensive selection of Series 59 switches that are designed and manufactured by ITW.
The Series 59 Maintained Action switches are manufactured from PBT and are available in seven different button colours. The switches are panel sealed to IP67 and have an operating temperature range of -40 to +105 degrees C. The switches incorporate gold contacts and have both an electrical and mechanical life of at least 100k cycles. |

SAFETY SWITCHES HINGE-SHAPED, PALLADIO LINE
Pizzato Elettrica widens the own range of products making a new series of safety switches hinge-shaped named Palladio, where thanks to an aimed planning and a punctual analysis of the market requirements, safety and style are melted in one single product. The switch is completely integrated in the mechanical hinge, to result practically invisible to an inexpert eye. This guarantees a higher safety because a switch hard to identify is consequently also more difficult to defeat.
The assembly without visible screws and the pleasant line, make the switch perfectly integrated also with guards of modern design machinery.
In order to complete the offer it’s available also an additional hinge with purely mechanics functions.
The innovation of the product regards also the technical aspects, as following:
• Several contact blocks up to 4 contacts (2 NC contacts + 2 NO contacts).
• Possibility of operating point regulation (fundamental for large guards).
• Protection degree IP67.
• Integrated cable or connector output available from the frontal or the rear side. |
|
Safety switches are used to detect the opening of machine guard doors, gates or panels and to prevent physical access to dangerous areas of the machine. Safety switches are designed to help deter tampering with either the internal machine controls or guards while in an unsafe condition.
All mechanical safety switches are equipped with positive opening contacts that open any normally closed contacts to assure machine shutdown when an unsafe condition is detected. |
