Z/T and E.95 range position switches are suitable for sliding and hinged safety guards, which need to be closed to ensure the necessary operational security.
In combination with AES and/or AZR range safety monitoring modules all position switches class 1 shown in this chapter achieve Control Category 3 or 4 to EN 954-1.
Further applications for positions switches class 1 are most varied positioning duties. The variety of requirements to be found in practice can be met in detail by means of a wide range of actuating elements.
Design and mode of operation:
On the position switches class 1 the guarding device and the positive break NC contact are positively linked.
Schmersal make both standard and AS-i Safety at Work position switches with safety function.

Pull-wire emergency stop switches are mounted on machines and sections of plants which cannot be protected by guards. In contrast to mushroom head Emergency Stop push buttons, on pull-wire switches the Emergency Stop command can be initiated from any point on the wire.
In combination with one of the AES and AZR range safety monitoring modules, see chapter 10.3, ZS range pull-wire emergency stop switches can be used for Control Category 3 or 4 to EN 954-1.
Design and mode of operation:
All of the pull-wire emergency stop switches conform to European Standard EN 418. They have a positive linkage between the NC contacts and the wire rope. The pull-wire emergency stop switches are brought into the operational condition by pre-tensioning the wire, i.e. the NC contacts are then closed and the NO contacts open.
Schmersal make both standard and AS-i Safety at Work pull-wire emergency stop switches.

Having our own reed switch manufacturing and beinga distributor of OKI dry reed switches, the COMUS GROUP is able to supply every market and every customer with a wide range of different reed switch types.
From very small reed switch types, as the 7 mm GC2107, the 10 mm ORD211, over the most common used 14 mm types to the heavy duty types, normally open form A or change-over form C contacts, higher pressure or vacuum high voltage switches, COMUS makes them all.
Customized reed switches are available upon request. Cutting, bending, welding extension wires, bistable solutions are commonly asked modifications. |

Reed Switch technology is used in all market segments including: test and measurement equipment, medical electronics, Telecom, automotive, security, appliances, general purpose, etc. Its growth rate is stronger than ever, where the world output cannot stay abreast with demand.
As a technology, the Reed Switch is unique. Being hermetically sealed, it can exist or be used in almost any environment. Very simple in its structure, it crosses many technologies in its manufacture. Critical to its quality and reliability is its glass to metal hermetic seal, where the glass and metal used must have exact linear thermal coefficients of expansion. Otherwise, cracking and poor seals will result. Whether sputtered or plated, the process of applying the contact material, usually Rhodium or Ruthenium, must be carried out precisely in ultra clean environments similar to semiconductor technology. Like semiconductors, any foreign particles present in the manufacture will give rise to losses, quality and reliability problems.
Over the years, the Reed Switch has shrunk in size from approximately 50 mm (2 inches) to 6 mm (0.24 inches). These smaller sizes have opened up many more applications particularly in RF and fast time domain requirements. |

Reversing systems enable for using of electric motors in two rotary directions and also they are suitable for Automatic Transfer Switch Systems (network-network).
Reversing systems consist of the following elements:
- two 3-poles contactors with the similar dimensions from series CRNI09...CRNI38 (4...18,5 kW), where two phases are changed,
- additional auxiliary contacts CRI20-10 (1N/O),
- mechanical latches CRI-410,- set of connection wires designed for reversing systems - bottom and top connection 3RA 1923-2A or 3RA 1933,
Reversing systems enable easy, fast and dependable wire connection.
Starting characteristics are suitable to characteristics of directly starters.
Applications with the adequate safety devices reversing systems are very advantageous to save compact space of branching with fuses or without fuses.

Pizzato Elettrica has designed and patented new accessories to install the rope of safety switches faster and to obtain an aesthetically more pleasant system.
The new accessories, in comparison with the traditional fixing system through carpentry material, have the following advantages:
%u2022 The installation is faster because only one screw is used for the fastening of every rope extremity, and the parts are prepared to ease the installation. Some practical tests have pointed out that the installation time is halved, reason for which it is named FAST.
%u2022 The system is aesthetically pleasant, because thread parts (which sometimes tear operators%u2019 dresses) and the rope extremities, usually fixed by heat-shrinkable sheath or adhesive tape, have been hidden.
%u2022 The red plastic covers of the fixing parts have been developed also for the function of controlling the rope clamping. If the rope fastening screw is not fixed tightly enough, the cover cannot pass.
%u2022 The rope is fixed without folds, thus reducing the rope stabilisation time and the possible re-calibrations of the rope tightening.
Furthermore two sturdy pulleys has been introduced in applications where the rope is very long in order to support the rope length or to bend its route. They are designed to avoid any deformation and to allow the rope to remain in its seat also when it is energetically activated. |
