Addi-Data presents the new 32-bit digital input/output board PC104-PLUS1500 which has 32 I/O. The PC104-PLUS1500 is equipped with both PCI and ISA connectors on the circuit board. The direct connection to SPS controls is guaranteed because the I/O channels correspond to the industrial standard +24 V for “logic 1”. The input voltage is designed precisely so that the PC104-PLUS1500 switches reliably to „0“ or „1“, even in the case of disturbances. With 0-14 V as “low” and 19-30 V as “high” the ranges are set very high. In order to ensure that the board is interference-free and thus the flawless use in applications, the 32 digital inputs/outputs are isolated up to 1000 V and protected against fast transients, electrostatic discharge and high-frequency EMI.
Two digital inputs are interruptible and thus the main programs are relieved of the standard monitoring and evaluation tasks. In order to avoid undefined states the outputs stay on “status 0” when the PC is started.
The High-Side switch outputs that are available on the PC104-PLUS1500 are designed for inductive loads and PTC resistors, in contrast to the open collector outputs. They work with a nominal voltage of 24 V and an output current of 150 mA and are protected against short-circuit, overtemperature and undervoltage. Additionally, 3 timers or counters are available, whereas Timer1 can work as programmable watchdog for resetting the outputs. A status register that can be read out allows to detect short-circuit or overtemperature.

Description
CAN-Bus PCI-Card with open source Linux driver
The CANnes card is a PCI card which provides a simple, easy to use CAN interface. It is equipped with a male and a female 9 pin Sub-D connector with standard CAN pin assignments. CAN bit rates between 10 and 1000 kBit/s (1MBit/s) are possible. The industry standard CAN controller SJA1000 is used together with the CAN bus driver 82C250 and optical isolation between the CAN controller and the CAN bus driver. A 120 ohms termination resistor is also provided. This resistor can be switched on and off either by a software controlled relay. Device drivers and function libraries are provided for the Windows (98/ME/2000 and NT4) operating systems and also for the Linux operating system. The CANnes cards is CE-approved and also meets FCC specifications. It can be used with every PC which is equipped with PCI slots fulfilling at least the PCI 2.1 standard.

The new products in the PC-RSD-PCI Series are plugged each into a PCI bus slot on the PC to serve as a new type of silicon disk drive using a CompactFlash (CF) card in the same as a hard disk.
The PC-RSD-PCI Series has two CF card slots on the board, one of which comes standard with a CF card. The other slot is available between the PCI board brackets, allowing an additional CF card to be plugged and unplugged as a removable disk with the board installed on the PC. The second slot can extend the range of applications, such as separating the OS and data areas.
The PC-RSD-PCI board uses a highly reliable CF card (fixed disk mode), which can be partitioned into two or more drives. The PC-RSD-PCI board can also accommodate an optional additional CF card to add an additional drive or drives (thereby increasing the total capacity), in which case the two CF cards can be configured into a RAID by striping (RAID level 0), mirroring (RAID level 1), or spanning (JBOD) using a utility. The PC-RSD-PCI Series is a line of 1 GB, 2 GB, and high-capacity 4 GB and 8 GB models. These are designed environment-conscious to be lead-free and to (be scheduled to) conform to the RoHS Directive.

The Imaging Source - an international manufacturer of industrial cameras, video converters and frame grabbers announces today a new series of PCI-Express frame grabbers. The models ship with a number of different video inputs. Some models are available for low profile PC cases. The Imaging Source frame grabbers are deployed for applications in which analog video signals (PAL, CCIR, NTSC, RS-170) need to be processed by a PC. In addition to cameras, such video input devices include ultrasound and x-ray machines. Analog cameras are not only used in legacy applications. The PCIe-DIO24 is a 24-channel digital I/O board with selectable 3.3 V or 5 V logic levels for PCI Express bus compatible computers. The 24 bits function as an 8-bit Port A, an 8-bit Port B, and an 8-bit Port C, which may be further divided into two 4-bit ports (Port C-HI and Port C-LO).
There is a 10 kilohm pull-up/pull-down resistor network associated with each digital port. Their direction is software selectable and stored on the board, so the user can use the board in a different PC without running configuration software: simply set the board number in InstaCal.
The PCIe-DIO24 is connector and software compatible with Measurement Computing's highly popular PCI-based PCI-DIO24 and ISA-based CIO-DIO24 boards, making migration from the ISA or PCI bus about as simple as unplugging the digital I/O cable’s 37-pin connector from the old board and plugging it into the new one. The PCIe-DIO24 is also supported by the same wide variety of external relay and solid state I/O module racks.

PROFIBUS DP for LabVIEW
The COMSOFT PROFIBUS VISA Driver equips National Instrument's LabVIEW with a real-time PROFIBUS-DP connection providing a powerful extension of the application range in the test and automation sector.
The package including hardware and software is based on the COMSOFT DF PROFI II board, available in PCI, PCIe, CompactPCI and PC104+ format. These different formats as well as the real-time VISA driver concept can be integrated in different LabVIEW systems and platform combinations.
An installation in a classical PC system under LabVIEW for Windows is just as possible as in a real-time PXI system under LabVIEW RT, e.g. as a high performance PAC system for time-critical test applications or industrial automation applications.
The COMSOFT PROFIBUS VISA Driver supports DP Master and DP Slave mode. This allows data exchange with any DP Slaves as well as the integration of a complete LabVIEW system as DP Slave in an already existing PROFIBUS DP network.
The PROFIBUS DP process and diagnostic data can be accessed in a simple manner. The board initialization and the data handling are demonstrated in detailed example VIs, which also can be used for the immediate start-up of the PROFIBUS.

Interface modules with PROFINET-DP (DPV0 and DPV1), DeviceNet, Ethernet/Modbus TCP/IP, Ethernet/Profinet and Ethernet/IP with up to 8 channels are available.

The new products are low-profile, RS-232C serial communication boards compliant with PCI Express. The board can expand asynchronous RS-232C serial communication ports on a PC with a PCI Express compliant slot. The board is available in three models different in the number of on-board RS-232C serial communication ports: 1-channel type "COM-1C-LPE", 2-channel type "COM-2C-LPE", and 4-channel type "COM-4C-LPE".
The three new models support high-speed communication at up to 921,600 bps. The bundled driver software can be used for Windows and Linux to recognize the on-board ports as OS's standard COM ports, allowing them to be set as COM1 to COM256. The board has high-capacity FIFO buffer memory: 128-byte transmit buffer and 128-byte receive buffer. The FIFO buffer memory can be adjusted in buffer size for starting data transmission/reception. You can optimize the buffer size for each application, for example by increasing the buffer size to reduce the CPU load or decreasing it to improve realtimeness.
