StreamShield™ Commercial EMI Vents
- available with fire barrier coatings
Low cost StreamShield vent panels provide high levels of EMI shielding in applications such as computer network and wireless infrastructure cabinets. These vent panels feature aluminum honeycomb within rolled aluminum frames. The result is a lightweight, high airflow solution for enclosures requiring both cooling and high levels (50 dB at 10 GHz) of shielding. An optional intumescent coating provides fire barrier properties. On exposure to flame or heat at 300°F (149°C) the coating expands rapidly to fill the honeycomb cells and prevent flame passage. Standard panels feature 1/8 inch (3.2 mm) honeycomb cells, 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) thick. Complete frame/honeycomb assemblies are chromate conversion coated.
SLIMVENT™ Thin Profile EMI Vents
Chomerics' SLIMVENT™ air ventilation panels provide 90 dB attenuation at 1 MHz to 50 dB at 10 GHz. The panels are made from expanded aluminum or monel (nickel-copper) foil, secured in an extruded aluminum frame only 0.187 inch (4.75 mm) thick. This narrow profile is ideal for accommodating critical space limitations at air intake and exhaust ports. The frame has an integral wire mesh gasket for EMI shielding at the mounting interface. SLIMVENT air panels are fabricated to customer specifications.
CHO-ITO™ - ITO Coated Conductive Windows
Chomerics offers a range of EMI shielded windows with ITO conductive coatings for use in EMI/RFI shielding applications. The combination of high visible light transmission, near neutral color and low electrical resistance make an ideal EMI/RFI shield for electronic displays requiring moderate shielding effectiveness and high quality optical properties. CHO-ITO™ is a cost effective alternative to a mesh laminated window.
WIN-SHIELD™ Shielded Windows and
Contrast Enhancement Filters
Chomerics WIN-SHIELD windows are performance-tested glass and plastic assemblies for displays requiring EMI radiation or susceptibility shielding. They provide highly effective EMI shielding and exceptional optical clarity. Windows can be produced in glass, plastic, or combinations of both. Shielding is provided by wire mesh or by deposited conductive coatings. Chomerics' prototype-to-production service includes an extensive line of spectrally matched filters to meet stringent contrast enhancement performance requirements for both flat and curved configurations.

These gaskets are realized wrapping with one or more metallic wire mesh a foam (polyurethane, neoprene and silicone).
To use where the closing are irregular or where a weak is desired strength of closing, but also a certain degree of protection is in demand from the dust or damp.
The installation can simply be effected for attrition or, in absence of throats on the wisecracks, through adhesive strip.

A composite of metal sheeting impregnated with an elastomer to yield a highly conductive, yet resilient Gasketing material for EMI/RFI shielding as well as an environmental seal. A selection of Woven aluminium wire, expanded aluminium or monel sheet impregnated with silicone, fluorosilicone or neoprene rubbers are available. Expanded Monel wire is also available without the elastomer filler for use in applications where an environmental seal is not necessary. The material can be supplied as continous sheet or as die cut gaskets to customers requirements.

Elastomer core gaskets are made of a resilient rubber core,
knitted over with layers of wire mesh (the standard is two
layers). The knitted wire element provides EMI shielding
effectiveness, while the elastomer core enables the gasket
section to recover more readily, following repeated
compression. Elastomer core gaskets are used where the
application requires a conformable EMI seal and even where a
dust protection is needed.

Standard RB METALLIC RIBBONS are made by knitting one or several wires of an identical or different types.
The wires used are monel, tin-plated copper, tin-plated copper-clad steel.
Other metals are used for specific shielding : aluminium, stainless steel, pure copper, inconel… For certain
applications, there may be up to 6 wires, depending on the gauge of the mesh.

SPRINGMESH™ Highly Resilient Mesh Gasket
SPRINGMESH™ gaskets feature a highly resilient, hollow knit, tin-plated steel mesh that provides excellent recovery from high compressive forces. Compression set is less than 30% at 80% compression. Round profile SPRINGMESH gaskets are ideally suited for gasket-in-a-groove applications, such as in cast housings for outdoor CATV boxes, NEMA enclosures with outboard environmental seals, and industrial enclosures.
POLASHEET®, POLASTRIP® Composite Gasket
POLASHEET® and POLASTRIP® gasketing are composite EMI shielding and weather sealing materials. Monel wire embedded in silicone and oriented perpendicular to mating flange surfaces provides the EMI shielding. Either solid or sponge silicone can be specified as the weather seal. Wires are crimped for additional resiliency. POLASHEET materials are supplied in sheet form from which gaskets are easily die-cut. POLASTRIP gaskets are provided in strip form or as finished custom gaskets fabricated from strips.
COMBO STRIP® Wire Mesh and Elastomer Weather Seal
COMBO STRIP® gaskets combine Chomerics' MESH STRIP gasketing in parallel with an integral elastomer weather sealing strip. They are available with or without adhesive backing in a broad range of standard cross sections. COMBO STRIP gaskets are recommended for applications requiring a weather seal in addition to EMI shielding. The standard mesh is monel or Ferrex (tin-plated, copper-clad steel) wire.
METALASTIC® EMI Gasketing with Pressure Seal
Chomerics METALASTIC® gasketing is a composite EMI and pressure seal in thin sheet form. Shielding is provided by woven aluminum mesh. Pressure sealing is achieved by neoprene or silicone elastomer impregnated in the mesh. PORCUPINE METALASTIC® gasketing is available in two forms: EMI shielding with pressure seal and EMI shielding only. Shielding is provided by expanded monel foil. For pressure sealing properties, the expanded monel is filled with silicone elastomer. All METALASTIC gasketing is available in sheets and die-cut shapes.

Wire mesh gaskets are a very versatile and proven style of shielding. Wire mesh gaskets have a great variety of uses and there are several popular types to choose from depending on shielding or environmental requirements. Knitted gaskets can be made from a variety of metal wires, including monel, tin plated-copper clad-steel or aluminum. Cost-effective for low cycling applications with high shielding effectiveness over a broad frequency range. Available in a wide variety of sizes and shapes, the knit construction provides long lasting resiliency with versatile mounting options. Available with elastomer gasket for moisture and dust sealing.

Alco Metal Mount is a rigid EMI aluminum strip with a wire mesh and or elastomer gasket secured into the groove of the extrusion. Alco-Knit gaskets are supplied in standard wire alloys in several configurations and size to meet specific shielding requirements. Alco-Knit Elastomer Core gaskets may be applied for environmental pressure sealing. Alco-Knit or Alco Elastomer Core gaskets may be applied in any combination to one or both sides of the strip. Alco Metal Mount strips are fabricated with specific hole size, location, slots and countersinks for alignment. Ready-to-mount strips are attached with rivets, fasteners or spot welded to flange surfaces. Lengths range from two inches to eight foot lengths and come in multiple profiles. Strips are supplied unfinished or Chromate Coated per MIL-C-5541 Class 1or 3 to enhance shielding performance and corrosion resistance. Alco Metal Mount Strips add structural strength to enclosures and perform as a positive compression stop where a rigid gasket is required.

SPRING-LINE™ BeCu Spring Fingers and Ground Strips
SPRING-LINE™ beryllium copper gaskets combine high levels of EMI shielding effectiveness with spring-finger wiping and low closure force properties. Beryllium copper's high tensile strength, and superb electrical conductivity are ideal for shielding over a broad frequency range. SPRING-LINE gaskets are available in bright tin, bright copper and bright nickel finishes. Standard length (16 inch, 406 mm) and custom length strips are available in a wide variety of cross sections. For low compression grounding contacts, individual fingers are available with pressure sensitive adhesive for convenient pick-and-stick application.
SPRING-LINE stainless steel card cage gaskets
Designed to provide EMI shielding to the expansion slot area of PC and Server chassis. Chomerics' standard card cage series is available for PCI/EISA slot configurations from 1 to 10. The gaskets can also be modified to include additional slots and variable pitch designs. Designed for cost effectiveness and ease of installation, Chomerics' card cage gaskets fit into most existing chassis with-out modifications. The contact fingers are designed to minimize any snagging during the installation of cards. SPRING-LINE card cage gaskets are available in both standard and custom configurations, including tin-plating, to help meet demanding shielding requirements.
METALEX™ - EMI Frame Gaskets and Strips
These frame-mounted gaskets incorporate a length of MESH STRIP gasketing (with or without elastomer core), securely crimped into the edge of extruded aluminum mounting frames. They are available as ready-to-mount welded aluminum frames, fabricated lengths, or standard 7.5 ft. lengths. In addition to allowing simple mechanical mounting, the aluminum frames function as positive compression stops, preventing over-compression of the gaskets.

ATI-Thin Filter is the thinnest profile EMI shielded air filter. Extruded aluminum surrounds a singular thin piece of expanded monel or aluminum metal screen and welded in place. Alco-Knit or conductive gasket increase shielding effectiveness. Through hole locations are customized for easy surface mount installation. Plating options enhance shielding effectiveness. ATI- Thin Filters are frequently placed at intake and exhaust areas and are best utilized where narrow space limitations are a requirement.

A weatherproof version designated AEP-WP or AEW-WP is similar to the standard AEP and AEW respectively.
