ARM RealView tools are unique in their ability to provide solutions that span the complete development process from concept to final product deployment. Each member of the RealView portfolio has been developed closely alongside the ARM hardware and professional software IP, ensuring that it maximizes the IP's performance.
Working with ARM RealView tools gives the user an extensive and cohesive product range that empowers architects and developers alike to confidently deliver optimal products into the marketplace faster than ever before.
RealView system development tools allow system architects to create and validate their hardware design ideas in a virtual environment. Processor design engineers will find the RealView system development tools vital for creating detailed processor models and the tools required to generate and debug code on them. System architects can create executable specifications of a design, run benchmarks and simulate different architectures very early in the design cycle. RealView system development tools give you confidence in your final product much earlier in the design cycle, therefore lowering risk and increasing delivery of products that are right first time. |

ROM emulation is a powerful and versatile method of microprocessor testing. ROM emulation has emerged as the technique of choice for microprocessor test and diagnostic applications. A microprocessor-based board is tested by replacing the professional boot ROMs on the Unit Under Test (UUT) with memory emulation pods. Each pod handles eight bits of the data bus. Processors from 8 to 32 bits can be controlled with one to four pods (even the most advanced CPUs such as the Intel Pentium generally use only an eight-bit boot path). The professional emulator takes control of the UUT by resetting the processor and, under the test program's control (monitor program), exercises all functions on the board. Synchronization with the UUT is automatic and requires no additional hardware or connections.

Engineering Base - A new approach
Engineering Base is the new and innovative professional design software for the electrical engineering community. Creating electrical design documentation with Engineering Base is faster and easier than ever. Engineering Base combines Microsoft Office Visio, with Microsoft SQL Server, the powerful enterprise relational database management and analysis system. Electrical diagrams are drawn with Visio and all data is managed with the SQL Server.
The typical situation in electrical design
In order to manage your engineering project, you need to work with different sets of tools. This tool set consists of text processing, a electrical CAD tool to create system documentation, and either spreadsheets or a small database application to handle bills of materials, wiring lists, and purchase order lists. The amount of data produced can easily create large numbers of files of many differing types. Plus, all references to items located in these different files have to be updated manually. Keeping track of all this information can be cumbersome, to say the least. Relatively few employees have the skill, the time, and a license to use a CAD system. And only a few know how CAD files, spread sheets, and text documents are truly related in this situation. |
