HSK Tooling Types Offered:
• Four types of MEGA Chuck series optimises high speed and precise cutting with drills and endmills.
• The Fullcut Mill, the world's first indexable insert endmill, offers both accuracy and toughness.
• KAB tool shanks, the original and #1 modular boring system in the world!
Premium Material Selection
Since HSK is a hollow taper shank, the material has a critical role for optimum performance. BIG uses carefully selected high grade alloy steels. Particularly, BIG uses die steel materials for HSK 40 and smaller where the cross section of shank taper is very thin.
Important Tool Retention Feature
Internal clamping of HSK tools is defined by the location of highly concentrated forces from the machine tool. Accuracy and position of this form will affect the righdity, repeatability, and precision of tool holders. BIG provides finish machining of this area after heat treatment.
Drive Key Form
HSK Shanks according to Form A are designed to carry out torque transmission by the round shaped key-way at the end of the taper. Because of the importance of this round shaped geometry, BIG provides finishing of this feature after heat treatment.
Pre-Balanced Design
Since HSK Form A has non-symmetric keyways, it is not balanced. BIG Form A holders are pre-balanced near the tool change V-Groove recommended by ISO standard and can therefore be used for high speed applications.
Hole For Manual Clamping
BIG HSK Form A holders have a manual clamping hole as a standard and can therefore be used in place of HSK Form C which is manually mounted in spindles.

High-volume turning requires tough, consistently accurate collets and collet chucks. What better name to trust than Riten, respected around the world for quality work holding products
Riten Collet Chucks are precision ground with guaranteed repeatability of .0002” TIR. Tolerances are held uniformly from the mounting to the working collet taper. Our products include both power and manual chucks with dead length or pull back operation. These chucks are ideal for first or second operation chucking.
Riten Collets are designed for improved accuracy and repeatability, superior gripping power, and extended service life. To achieve this, we load the collet with an induction coil at the base of the slots and heat the collet to a glowing red hot temperature. A spreader is inserted into the slots and pushed down on the collet face. After cooling for one to two minutes the spreader is removed and the collet cools completely. This process gives our collets a spring of .010” and drastically improves the life of the collet. Few other manufacturers go to this length to ensure a quality collet.
You’ll also find Riten collets are easier to attach, because we mill off the thin top edge of the threads to prevent binding in the radius of the female thread.

Adapter Collets
With the DATRON adapter collets you may use different tool shank diameters in one spindle collet chunk only. You need one adapter each in the automatic tool change for every tool with a different shank diameter. The adapters are pre-stressed and therefore reuseable. To open the adapter collets you need the DATRON adapter insertion tool, Art. No. 0068337 for 6 mm adapters or Art. No. 0068337A for 8 mm adapters.

Increased productivity
need not mean heavy investments in new machines.
3Refix is remarkably simple way to lay a solid foundation from which to view the future with confidence – tool up without indication and cut your production costs!
3Refix technology is based on a modular hole pattern with 100x100 mm pitch and 20 mm diameter reference holes. The reference tables have clearly-marked reference holes – A1, A2, B1, B2 etc – and every accessory has two 20 mm diameter holes, which pick up the references from the table. The R0-hole gives the X/Y-position and the R1-hole gives the angle relative to the axes of the machine. This makes it possible to set up the workpiece without the need for alignment and gauging afterwards. So 3Refix accessories provide an unmistakable and fixed position with known references.
The accessories in the 3Refix range usually have a reference height of 30 mm, among other things to allow machining straight through the workpiece. The design also allows a flush pot to be pushed in under the workpiece during EDM machining.
The full effect of 3Refix technology is attained by consistent application with general systemization and standardization of all machine tables and accessories. System 3R can supply reference tables for practically all types and sizes of machines – reference tables that give a distinct interface between machine table and auxiliary tool.

EXPANDING MANDRELS AND COLLET CHUCKS
Expanding mandrels are the ideal solution to many workholding problems. By holding parts on most of the datum bore (or outside diameter in the case of a collet chuck) the clamping forces are evenly distributed, reducing distortions during part manufacture.
Mandrels also provide a superior method of holding parts which are high volume, have short cycle times or require the highest levels of concentricity.
Chevin manufacture expanding mandrels tailored to your exact specifications. Many different mounting styles are available, including: spindle nose, between centers, Morse taper and faceplate. Different actuation methods can be used, such as drawbar, cantilever nut and front nut.
Every expanding mandrel or collet chuck supplied by Chevin can have the following features:
* Single taper sleeves
* Positive clamping and release
* High levels of concentricity – to 0.0002" T.I.R
* Controlled datums
* Sleeve interchangeability
* Generous expansion capacities
All of the above permit quick and secure clamping creating versatility and ease of use.

Art.109: Face driver TR12/120 suitable for working on different shaft types on medium and small sizes, on CNC lathes and copying lathes, with 3 driving teeth, available in Morse Taper 4 and 5.
The face driver can be locked both on the external diameter by the clamps of the self-centering chuck, and both flanged by the rear holes.
The work-piece centering is granted by the central center, and its driving is effected by the teeth sited circularly on the front driver side.
The teeth are mechanically compensated and they all grip on the work-piece to be driven, even if it is cut obliquely or irregularly.

Efficient production of bores accurate in dimensions and design on single-spindle or multi-spindle machines.
The toolholder flanged sleeve is moving on precisions balls and coupled to the chuck body through an Oldham type clutch driven by means of precision rollers. Therefore the tool keeps all its mobility regardless of the torque resulting of the cutting load.
A new patent conception prevents any destruction of the bearing through the balls due to an incident.
Customers Advantages:
* Simple application
* The new SMP Compact GV variant is especially suited for work at high speeds on machining centers
* Can be used vertically and horizontally
* For clockwise and counter-clockwise motion

Floating Holder with radially parallel floating feature for reaming on special purpose machines, transfer lines and NC-machines.
: Ø2-Ø20mm
|
|
The MAPAL WELLACH floating holders were designed to allow high speed reamers to be used to their full extent. Radial and angular alignment is precisely defined and preset.
This produces a reliable function even at high feed rates.
This then reduces costs, the results fo the batch remain constant and scrap and reworking kept to a minimum. Because of the narrow design and small diameter of the head, the clearance distance for multi-spindle use is reduced. Because no parts are worn, there is no need to keep cost-intensive stocks of spares.

Modern machines and tools have greater demands on tool holders. Particulary if cemented carbide endmills and drills are used at very high speed, where a very low run-out is required to achieve long toollife.
CoroGrip® and HydroGrip® fulfil all the demands on a tool holder for HSM.
Three requirements have to be fulfilled when using holders with cemented carbide endmills or drills at high speed:
-Low run-out
-High clamping force
-Balanced holder
Every CoroGrip and HydroGrip chuck is individually balanced and they have an individual number and is delivered with a protocol.
