The D 40 was the first of the middle-size models, a totally new dumper which derives from the DB 180 concrete mixer, to which it owes its 48 horsepower Yanmar engine and 4-speed transmission. Its articulated steering, its ability to unload on three sides plus the reversible driving position make it an extremely versatile vehicle, unbeatable in restricted spaces such as narrow city-centre lanes, passageways or tunnels

The combination of performance features such as 4-wheel drive and steering, rotating driver's seat, 4-speed hydrostatic transmission, maximum speed fully-loaded of 30 k.p.h., optimal visibility and compactness considerably increase this vehicle's versatility, even if tunnel work seems to be their natural habitat.

The D 70 currently represents the latest development in the firm's quest to renew their dumper range. However, Fiori does not exclude the possibility that other models may shortly come on line, further adding to the company's product offering. No secrets have so far been revealed, so all we can do for the time being is wait. Given Fiori's tendency to get things right ahead of the competition, watch this space for news of future trends in the dumper market.
