Benefits
One of the most important aspects of EDM performance is flushing. Transor stresses the importance of providing dielectric filtered to a continuous and absolute one micron for flushing. Fewer and smaller particles result in a predictable environment where the following EDM benefits can be achieved
Reduced Machining Time=Faster Cuts
Without clean dielectric, microscopic particles present in the oil can interfere with effective machining of the workpiece. If present in sufficient quantities, the frequency of discharge will be reduced and the electrode will back away from the cut. Transor's one micron filtration helps to eliminate this contamination contributing to efficient performance at optimum machining speed.
Improved Accuracy
Geometric shapes may be deformed and tolerances not achieved when dielectric is contaminated by conductive particles. Again, Transor's one micron filtration capabilities minimize these particles which interfere with the controlled discharge machining of the sidewalls of the cavity. Clean dielectric is essential to achieve the repeatability and close tolerance requirements of production and multi-cavity mold applications.
Reduced Pitting=Reduced Polishing
Particles bridging the gap between the electrode and workpiece convert the AC current used in EDM to DC current. This causes a concentrated discharge, resulting in arcing and pitting that damages the electrode or the workpiece. With dielectric filtered to one micron, more consistent current allows finer surface finishes that reduce polishing time.
Cost Justification
Users of the Transor System point to two areas of savings.
First, Transor's automatic cleaning of the filter elements eliminates the cost and down-time of changing standard cartridges.
Second, and MOST IMPORTANT, machining with oil filtered to one micron produces significant benefits over standard five micron paper cartridges. Reduced machining time, improved accuracy, and superior surface finishes have produced documented increases in overall EDM efficiency of anywhere from 5% to 35%. Transor specializes in EDM filtration. From individual units to centralized systems for multiple EDM's, one micron filtration provides dramatic improvements in EDM efficiency.

Brackish water desalination became viable in the early 1950's when GE Water & Process Technologies developed the world's first commercially-applied membrane desalination technology. This breakthrough, called electrodialysis (ED), is an electrochemical separation process in which ions are transferred through ion exchange membranes by means of direct current (DC) voltage. In the ED process, ions are removed from the feed water as the current drives the ions through the membranes to desalinate the process stream. In the early 1970's, ED was updated to electrodialysis reversal (EDR), which provided reversal of the electric field and automatic membrane cleaning. Today, EDR is widely used to economically treat water supplies which are challenging for other technologies to process and where water recovery up to 95% is required.
The ability to remove minerals and salts provides a solution to convert previously unusable waters to high purity resources for drinking water or high purity industrial uses.

- Extend wheel life by as much as 400%
- Reduce cycle times by a much as 25%
- Eliminate existing maintenance cost (filters, cartridges, paper rolls, pre-coat)
- Increase machine up-time
- Reduce disposal cost
Major advancements in manufacturing have taken place in recent years with machine tools offering such features as increased accuracy, faster cycle times and untended operation. Filtration however has long been a misunderstood and neglected component of the machining process. This has led to rising maintenance and disposal costs and contributed to less than optimal machining efficiency. Already used in grinding operations throughout Europe, the Transor Filter provides the finest in filtration, providing benefits that are not present in cartridges, paper roll or centrifuge systems.

Special horizontal decanter centrifuge for continuous separation of solids with different densities from liquids. Flottweg range of SORTICANTER® sizes reach up to capacities of 1,000 kg/h solids, depending on the properties of the raw material.
Typical application:
plastic recycling
|
|
The decanter centrifuges are used for separating two or more different specific weight phases, that is to say, in clarification processes having solid materials in suspension. The separation of the solid from the liquid phase is done inside a cylindrical/ conical rolling drum. The heavier solid phase, settles on the internal walls of the drum, being scraped successively by the inner cochlea until it is expelled thought the orifices located al the end of the conical section.
Polymers, selected depending on the process type to be done, are often used to facilitate the addition of the solid, especially in the purification phase. This procedure cannot be applied in intermediate transformation or in the food processes.
In this type of centrifuges the suspension feeding to be treated and the discharge, liquid or dehydrated solid, are done in continuous and automatically, thus the presence of operators is not required. Therefore, the decanting centrifuge is the best alternative to other systems of dehydration like Filter Presses and Filters Bands
Besides the decanting centrifuges have the below stated advantages:
Work in continuous
No odour emission
High reliability and high safety
Low control cost thanks to is automatic functioning
Reduced size
Good maintenance intervals

The Grenland Minox systems are based on a patented technology for nitrogen gas stripping. The nitrogen gas is effectively mixed with the water in static mixers (2-stage system) or in a packing (Compact tower system).
This results in an extremely effective mass transfer and residual oxygen content of less than 10 ppb in the water is achieved without the use of oxygen scavenger.
The oxygen is stripped from the water by the nitrogen. The nitrogen is then catalytically purified and recycled.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS
EFS
Standard size housings available with 30 (590), 60 (250), 100 (149), and 150 (99) mesh (micron) reusable, stainless steel filter cartridges. Units measure 11.25" long and feature a 1" NPT intake and dual 1" NPT discharge ports (3/4" reducers provided).
FEATURES
Graymills Superflo filters are designed to overcome the typical pressure drop and reduced flow due to clogging that occurs with ordinary filters. A permanent magnet suspended over the intake port traps ferrous particles which find their way into the fluid, and diffuses the flow outward into the filter screen flutes. Filtered material is trapped on the inside of the removable/reusable stainless steel filter cartridge. To clean, just remove the cartridge. All the contaminants come out with it. Self draining. No wasted fluid or messy leftovers to deal with. Stainless steel filter cartridges are available in four different mesh screens.
