The ten After Filter-Exhauster combinations are designed to capture dust particles as small as 0.3 microns using cotton sateen cloth filter tubes as the filter media. Equipped with top mounted Exhausters which pull contaminated air to the filter tubes, releasing clean air into the work area, where permitted, or into the atmosphere. They are completely weatherproofed for outdoor applications, when equipped with vent cover. Recommended Exhauster sizes and specifications are to be found in the chart below. Electrically operated, manually controlled shakers are standard on the FT 40S, FT 140S, FT 64S, and FT 164S series, Optional on FT 24S Series.

Small Flow Filters

Improve the performance and protection of your compressed air and gas system with PPC's small flow filter line. Our small flow filter line consists of three sizes of "T" type housings designed for flows up to100 scfm at 100 psig. The housings are fabricated using epoxy coated aluminum for the 35 and 60 scfm sizes and epoxy coated carbon steel for the 100 scfm size. They feature our high performance air and gas filter cartridges.

Filtering liquids or air in hostile environments-such as those subject to temperature extremes, high orders of shock/vibration, and caustic fuels or fumes-has posed problems for paper filter elements. These types of elements simply will not withstand these types of operating conditions.
Since paper filters are typically composed of organic materials, they are also subject to attack by the caustic byproducts of many industrial processes- such as those involving combustion. For example, corrosion often takes place when high-temperature lubricating oils are loaded with such acids. After extended use, the surface area of the paper filter becomes heavily loaded, resulting in filter weak spots. (If the pressure relief valve is not set low enough, and the pressure is allowed to remain at normal operating pressure [500 to 700 kPa], paper filter elements may tear, fracture, or even burst.)
Sintered metal filters-due to their granular construction-are also prone to fracture or disintegration when subjected to the stresses of high temperature and shock. Unless the fusion process involved in their construction is 100% complete, small particles may begin to break away. As a result, when installed on either rotating or reciprocating machinery, little particles of filter material very frequently detach and migrate to block the very devices the filter was designed to protect.

In addition to standard air cleaners with or without cyclone separators, MAHLE also provides customer-specific air filter elements and air filter housings for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. Air filter elements of various types are used for filtering the intake air. Metal-free filter cartridges with efficient filter media and high dust holding capacity guarantee dust efficiency of up to 99.9 percent. Although cellulose media have predominantly been used for filtration in the past, MAHLE has meanwhile introduced new developments aimed at achieving higher efficiency and dust holding capacities. To this end, multi-layer filter materials made from cellulose, meltblown and nanofibers as well as completely synthetic non-woven materials have already been optimized for mass production.
New developments - air cleaners with activated carbon adsorbers
Owing to the statutory requirements of the North American market, HC adsorbers in the air intake are necessary for reducing emissions. In response to this, MAHLE has integrated an activated carbon element in its air cleaner modules. Hydrocarbons are therefore adsorbed which can then escape via the intake system when the engine is switched off.

Advanced Production methods often require very clean air, and in many cases these requirements are certain to increase. For example, the electronics industry needs a very clean manufacturing environment for its VLSI circuit production (VLSI - Very Large Scale Integrated). The pattern width on the circuits may be 1 micrometer or less. There will be a need to control particle contamination down 1/10 of third dimension (0.1 micrometer).
The "heart" of the clean room is the filter, but there are various considerations regarding room classification, choice of filter, and how filters influence the environment.

PTM sterilizing grade cartridge filters are manufactured for the specific needs of the pharmaceutical industry. Manufactured with inherently hydrophobic PTFE membrane, these cartridges are designed for use in the filtration of aggressive solvents, and as compressed gas and vent filters. Each cartridge module is individually bubble point tested using 60/40 IPA and water before it is released from manufacture. The cartridge surface area, filter core design, pleat configuration and pleat packing density have been optimized to provide increased cartridge life resulting in lower filtration operating costs. Rugged construction ensures repeatable steaming and testing. PTM grade cartridges are 100% integrity tested.

The filter elements, including sintered metal powder filters, sintered metal fiber filters, titanium filters and other alloyed filters, are manufactured by isostatic pressing or co-axial pressing via powder metallurgy process. Available materials are: stainless steel 316L, 304L, 904, Titanium, Inconel, Hastelloy, Nickel, Monel and other alloys .etc.on request.
The pore size can be adjusted by suitable selection of the powder size fraction and the process parameters. It has the type of tube, disc and stack of lamination and so on.

ATI Dust Filters are narrow profile EMI dust and air filters. An aluminum frame surrounds aluminum tinsel media and is welded in place. Aluminum tinsel media filters the air and entraps dust particles. The aluminum frame and tinsel media combination performs as a gasket. Alco-Knit gaskets are supplied on select extrusion profiles. Dust filters are supplied in standard .172 through hole diameters for easy installation mounting. Depending upon location, filters may be vacuum cleaned in place or removed and blown with light compressed air or cleaned with mild detergent. ATI Dust Filters are primarily used at air intake locations requiring narrow space limitations to entrap dust particles, shield and cool air flow.

Baghouse Filter
Ducon supplies pulse-air and reverse air type baghouse filters for industrial and utility applications. The filter type FBI is a filtering unit with a counter current cleaning system employed to separate pulverized solid products, which are suspended in the air or in other gaseous products. The filter is equipped with a tank to accumulate pressurized air and the sleeves' cleaning system, both contained inside the filter body. The cleaning system is controlled and managed by a cyclic electronic timer with a ?P incorporated. The filter is supplied with the work and pause sequences programmed and may be reprogrammed according to the client's requirement. It is also equipped with a three digit display to visualize the inlet differential pressure. The efficiency of the filter type FBI is within the values prescribed by the current anti-pollution italian law (d.P.R. 203/88). Its construction is also in conformity with european directive and italian law (d. Lgs. 277/91) On noise reduction in the working environment. The filter shape is cylindrical with the sleeves' extraction from the top. Its engineering is a result of the research and experience in the dry filtering with the use of sleeves and optimization of space in the plants. The air-product mixture is suctioned in the filter. The heavier product particles drop to the bottom by gravitational force whilst the lighter rise to the top and are filtered by the filtering sleeves wich are supported by steel frames. All filters may be executed in carbon steel, stainless steel Aisi 304 or Aisi 316, and aluminium.

This after-filter retains polluting particles thanks to the following main filtration effects: diffusion, inertia and direct interception.
It is recommended for those machining processes producing fine mists from soluble oil mixed with dusts (especially of conducting materials: e.g. cast iron processes, pressure die-casting etc.).
