The air-swept tubular dryer is a new concept in drying technology. Manufactured in the United States, it will process anything from low solids slurries to low moisture powders. The flow of material through the dryer is controlled so that the product may be a fine, dry powder or a moist granular material.

Imtech DryGenic helps the industry to produce better quality products in controlled temperature/humidity environment while minimizing utility usage and maximizing production rates.
The Imtech DryGenic dryer has the characteristics of high efficiency and low energy.
The design and the selection of the dryer is decided by the wet and the dry product flow characteristics,
lump / crust formation tendency and the thermal sensitivity. The dryer capacity and size and performance depends on the available heat transfer area and the operating conditions for the specific product. The combination of temperature cycles and drying times can be adjusted accordingly as to control the final product’s physical properties.

Vacuum belt / band driers consist of a housing with built-in conveyer belts for the product running over heating plates. Automatic belt control ensures precision belt operation. The belts run parallel to one another and a metering pump with oscillating application nozzle is assigned to each individually controlled belt.
The shift in the boiling point under vacuum provides for a low evaporation temperature and therefore gentle product temperature.
Pumpable products usually run through a highly viscous, frequently sticky phase during the drying process. This formation of vapor bubbles in the product results in a dry cake on the belt toward the end of the drying process. The temperature to which the product is subjected during the drying process has a significant effect on the achievable product quality. The belts run over a number of heating zones and over a cooling zone at the end. Steam, pressurized water or thermal oil can be used for heating; each zone can be controlled separately, allowing the temperature of the heating surfaces to be adapted to the specific requirements of the product.

After the mass finishing process, the processed work pieces are nearly almost wet and have to dry. The Trowal drier range is composed of various types.
BF-HL RANGE
Applications
Normally, the processed work pieces have to be dried after the finishing process. Trowal hot air belt-driers are designed to dry the work pieces with hot air. Most suited for components, which may not impinge on each other. For
- components with difficult to reach cavities where drying medium
may lodge
- long and bulky parts

Whether the product is a wet powder or a slurry, specially designed feeders transfer the product into the dispersion section of the dryer. A high speed rotor disperses the product in the drying zone. An induced hot gas stream as high as 600 °C provides the energy for instantaneous evaporation of the moisture within the feed material. Evaporation capacity of the largest unit is over 6000 kg/hr. Dried particles enter the classifying zone at the top of the dryer and fine de-agglomerated particles leave the dryer outlet to be collected down stream. Coarse particles are rejected by the classifier and are returned to the dispersion zone for further processing.

Drum Dryers are available in single and double drum models. Single drum units may be dip or splash fed, or equipped with applicator rolls. The latter is particularly effective for drying high viscosity liquids or pasty materials such as mashed potatoes, applesauce, fruit-starch mixtures, gelatin, dextrine-type adhesives, polyacrylamide, synthetic resins, and various starches.
Double drum dryers are the most versatile and widely applied. These dryers are used to dry many food, chemical, and pharmaceutical materials of widely varying densities and viscosities: dilute solutions, heavy liquids, pasty materials, or fairly heavy sludges. The movable drum permits complete control of product film thickness. Feed may be by perforated tube trough, pendulum, or special engineered devices.

International Surface Preparation offers the Walther Trowal line of mass finishing driers. After the mass finishing process the finished work pieces are typically wet and require drying.
International Surface Preparation offers these three series of Walther Trowal driers:
- G Series - Heated vibratory bowl style driers for stain-free drying and secondary polishing of the processed work pieces with the use of heated media. Click here for more information on the G Series.
- DLT Series - Rotary drum style driers typically used with a heated drying media. Parts are transported continuously through a rotating screen drum. Click here for more information on the DLT Series.
- BF-HL Series - Hot air tunnel belt driers. Processed parts are transported through a drying tunnel on a wire mesh belt as hot air is circulated via a blower fan evenly throughout the drying tunnel.

Vacuum drying cabinets serve for basic drying of temperature-sensitive concentrates and pasty mixtures of solid substances as well as granulates.
The properties of the dry product depend on the quantity of liquid they contain and the operating parameters which can be set on the equipment.
vacuum drying cabinetThe desired requirements can be controlled and adapted to the greatest extent with the drying process.
In comparison to other types of driers, vacuum drying cabinets offer optimum possibilities for influencing the drying characteristics.
