The GEA Bloksma plate fin oil (PF) cooler is a well proven, compact (25% of conventional), slim lined heat exchanger for cooling oil by means of sea- or fresh water and is suited for a wide range of marine and industrial applications. Unlike conventional shell & tube types it contains a bundle with a high density plate fin surface around the tubes. The cooler is available in 4 standard shell diameters ranging from 100 ñ 280 mm, covering 1 to 170 m2 plate fin surface. Connections in most cases can be DIN or SAE compatible or BSP threaded. The length of the cooler is variable. Standard components and modules enable to provide a large number of solutions, meeting customer requirements at a short delivery time.
Two standard versions are available:
* IV Industrial Version: For non-aggressive or controlled cooling water
* MV Marine Version: For aggressive or surface water

Plate heat exchangers
type PWT
The plate heat exchangers type PWT form an addition to our product range in the field of oil-water heat exchangers. In some cases they represent a cost-effective and space-saving alternative to the standard smooth pipe heat exchangers.
Description
Soldered plate heat exchangers are assembled from stamped special steel plates and connected by means of a copper shim and a special soldering process. Stamping creates a highly turbulent flow in the chambers between the plates, which enables excellent transfer of the heat. The type PWT plates stand out by their following characteristics:
Plates and connections made from special steel 1.4401
Connecting elbows and internal thread and keying surfaces.

Water oil coolers are used in many stationary hydraulic and lubricating systems to optimize the oil temperature. Water oil coolers are especially suitable in environments where water is easily accessible. The extremely quiet water oil cooler is ideal for indoor use where the cooling water cannot ice-up. The surplus energy from the heated cooling water can for instance be used to heat other water.
Off-line cooling and oil filter system
In all modern hydraulic systems, off-line oil cooling and filtering is becoming increasingly popular as the system can operate around the clock independently from the main system to avoid differences in pressure and flow conditions.
We supply both brazed plate and bolted plate heat exchangers. The main difference between these two propducts is that the bolted plate products have gaskets which enables you to change the plates easily.

MINIBOX
The MINIBOX is perfectly suited for direct mounting at the root valve. This partial enclosure has been designed specifically to protect the transmitter head and the electronics from overheating from the process medium. Freeze protection can be assured by using a directly mounted MINITHERM electric heater or MINISTEAM heater.
FLEXIPASS
The rubber sealing discs are made of chemically resistant closed cell soft foam EPDM-L that guarantee the seal between the transmitter head and impulse lines. The Flexipass discs can be easily field drilled or cut.
Gauge enclosure
The Minibox can be used as an ideal enclosure for gauges or small purge meters when used vertically.

NT Series
In developing the new NT Series, GEA PHE Systems successfully managed to combine its own many years of experience with market requirements. Now a new plate generation is available which sets new standards in terms of economic efficiency due to low investment, operating and maintenance costs. The optimised plate design requires less heat transfer surface for achieving same capacity and thus reduces investment cost considerably. New installation and gasket technologies make maintenance easier and ensure a perfect fit of the gasket and plate pack. A variety of lengths and profile variants allow design to be matched exactly to the specified operating point in any application.
OptiWave-design
Optimised wave configuration results in ideal flow across the entire plate width and thus ensures the highest heat transfer rates.
PosLoc-assembly
With the new NT Series GEA PHE Systems has introduced a self-centring plate system. This provides a stable, perfectly aligned plate pack, with gaskets positioned precisely and remaining functional for a longer time.
EcoLoc-gasket system
Our new, non-adhesive EcoLoc gaskets guarantee fast, uncomplicated replacement of gaskets.

The special hygiene requirements and stringent usage and environmental conditions applicable in the foodstuffs industry place greater demands on the design of and materials selected for a plate heat exchanger. The apparatus should be suitable for the company's own product but also resistant to the same extent to the various cleaning media used. The heat exchangers are often installed in damp environments and must not rust even if the room in which they are used is cleaned using fluids. They must also have a similar high-quality finish to the other machines in the room in which they are installed. Special, rapid release connections are selected as the connection variants (e.g. so-called "dairy pipe screw joints") so that all plate apparatuses can be used flexibly within their output limits. The special needs of the foodstuff in question are also taken into consideration when choosing the heat exchanger plate types and gaskets, since the fluids should of course pass the plate heat exchanger without taste, smell or colour being affected.
One decisive benefit of the ThermoLine's F series is its flexibility. Depending on application, all available plate sizes, types and materials can also be fitted in the F series apparatuses. The option of using laser welded modules greatly increases the possible usages of ThermoLine apparatuses in foodstuff applications. National and international requirements of foodstuff apparatus engineering are taken into account in the selection of plates and gaskets.

Because conventionally sealed plate heat exchangers quickly
reach their limits with critical media, GEA PHE Systems provides the answer - the new Laser-Welded Cassettes (LWC) plate heat
exchanger. Agressive media types can now flow safely. The LWC range is based on the NT plate technology and benefits from the very latest computational design and manufacturing techniques.
LWC plate heat exchangers work on the principle of 100% separate flow paths. The critical medium moves through a hermetically welded flow path, transferring heat to the less critical medium in its own, conventional sealed
path. Without this strict separation, many industrial applications simply would not be possible.
Your advantages at a glance
- Excellent compatibility with critical media
- Low investment - high heat transfer
- Long service life through use of new materials and technologies
- Advanced technology for reliable operation
- Easy installation - easy access for cleaning
- Outstanding cost / benefit performance

Schmidt Semi-Welded Plate Heat Exchangers
API Heat Transfer Semi-Welded plates feature plates that are welded using advanced laser welding techniques. Two plates are welded together and are fitted with a Viton® O-Ring and/or Teflon® gasket liner. The resulting plate pack has every other plate fully serviceable, while maintaining integrity of the welded plate pair.
This is especially suitable for critical fluids and gases, such as ammonia or caustic process chemicals where fluid loss is not acceptable. In the case of ammonia refrigeration, the reduced volume results in significant savings.

Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger
Bowman Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers: are intended for heating or cooling process fluids, they are for example suitable for closed circuit cooling of electrical equipment using demineralised water and for cooling water soluble oil solutions in quenching tanks.
The shell side usually contains the process fluid and the tube side water from the town mains or a cooling tower, or an ethylene glycol solution from a chiller unit. In certain circumstances this flow arrangement can be reversed, but please consult us first.

Our Shell and Tube Heat Exchangers are designed to transfer heat efficiently and effectively while reducing fuel consumption. A Heat Exchanger can be combined with any of our other systems or as a retrofit. In addition, Epcon has several designs that combine burnerless ovens with Thermal Oxidizers.
The price of the fuel necessary to run a Thermal Oxidizer can be exorbitant. In order to lower operating costs, a heat exchanger can be used. Heat Exchangers are used for transferring heat from one fluid (such as air) at higher temperature to another fluid at a lower temperature, thus making use of heat which would otherwise be expelled. In the various systems manufactured at Epcon, heat exchangers are used for the following purposes:
1. Pre-Heating the process gas as it enters the thermal oxidizer (also called Primary heat exchange). The heat is transferred from the hot gas leaving the combustion process to the cold air entering it. The two basic methods are Regenerative and Recuperative.
2. Using the gas for Secondary heating systems, such as process heating of the manufacturing facilities and heating boilers.
