The machine consists essentially of:
* two pneumatic magazines with mechanical pick-up facility
* two closing heads, two continuous duty feed toothed units, two outfeed conveyors.
* The fully automatic cover cutting unit consists of:
- reel-holder with controlled pre-unwinding
- cutting die for shaping the covers
- a shearing unit for separating the cut cover;
The covers are sorted by pick-and-place systems, i.e. while the cover is on the left die, the cover is picked up for locating on the right die.
The machine is fully automatic, with constantly accelerating cams, ensuring highly efficient operation and long life.
The product exit point can be warmed to maintain food temperature during packaging.
3 versions are available:
A) double lane machine with seamed covers
B) double lane machine with heat-sealed covers
C) double lane machine with plastic trays and covers all the above versions are available with a single TA40 lane

The Alida robotics off-line unit automatically applies plastic lids on flowrapped wet-wipe packages.
This unit is equipped with a visual control system to assure the correct position of the lid to a tolerance of +/- 2 millimeters aligned with the label, that must have some printed reference for accuracy.
The use of the visual control system to detect positioning and orientation, on both label and lid on every cycle, makes the system very efficient by allowing packs to be processed even if not perfectly aligned. Products are fed into the lid applicator lengthwise in single file. The unit is ideally positioned along the discharge conveyor of a flowrapping machine.

ULMA Packaging and its commitment with innovation and the technological development, has developed a high production automatic lid packaging machine for trays. Easy to use and high reliability, it can be adapted to work with a wide range of lids which can be knocked out automatically. Its ergonomic design makes easier lid loading and quick format changing.
Lid packaging is composed by three different areas:
- Tray loading and centering
- Lid denester
- Lid placing
Tray feeding is made by a belt composed by rollers which work in different speeds. Vertical and horizontal cylinders help centering trays in order to place the lid automatically.
Lid denester has an ergonomic design, allowing tray pile loading in an approximately 1.500 mm height. Lid format changing is made quick and in an easy way obtaining a format change approximately in 2 minutes.
Lid placing is made by a spinning mechanism composed by two arms which unstack and place lids at the same time, allowing to obtain 100 tray/min. production speed.

The capping station is composed of a column where the cap distributor, the chute with the releasing head and the capping heads are installed.
The screw capping machines are manufactured in two versions:
PPV for pre-threaded plastic screw caps with a positive Pick&Place system. The capping station is equipped with closing heads having a magnetic friction to adjust the closing force and are hermetically sealed to prevent water or stream ingress.
VA for aluminium screw caps with direct pick system. The capping station is equipped with closing heads in stainless steel, complete with rolls that seal the cap to the container (ROP or ROPP).
In the event of no container, the head doesn't release the cap.
The caps distributor automatically and continuously feeds the chute and it is equipped with a no cap sensor.
In case the machine has to treat PET/PE/HDPE bottles, the filler can be equipped with a neck holding system.

Semiautomatic taping machine which seals with adhesive tape the upper and lower parts of fixed-format boxes with manual adjustment.
GEM350/360 is especially suitable for sealing tall, narrow boxes as four belts, two upper and two lower ,horizontal and parallel to the work surface, are used for conveying.
GEM 350/360 can also be used for irregularly shaped boxes. The use of a single motor for driving the four conveyor belts simultaneously is totally innovative and patented, allowing smooth and even feeding of the boxes.
The speed of the upper and lower belts is in fact the same in mechanical terms. The upper taping unit has a patented system which, by regulating a spring, enables the subsequent weight on the box to be preset and therefore any differences in height of the boxes to be absorbed. Adjustment by means of handwheels is easy and fast, enabling use by non-specialist operatives.

The T 200 is a compact, fully-equipped traysealer with a stainless steel structure. During development, priority was given to output, performance, hygienic design and the simplest possible operation. The semi-automatic machine is designed for everyday production.
However, it is just as suitable for small businesses or laboratories.
The packaging operation is started automatically by pushing the tray drawer in manually. Depending on the packaging program, the trays are sealed in atmosphere or following evacuation and gas flushing (option). The excess lidding film is cut around the perimeter of the tray by a cutting unit.

A machine for heat sealing various food products in modified atmosphere (MAP). The model SMART 400 or 500 is capable of sealing a wide range of trays and film, to conform to the requirements of the product.
The process starts by placing trays with the product in them into the cavities of the machine.
The cycle is completely automatic and is carried out by activating the 2 start buttons simultaneously which will cause the following sequence of operations:
- Insertion and closure of the tray cavities.
- Vacuum if required (optional).
- Gas flush if required (optional).
- Sealing of the film to the tray.
- Form cutting of the film.
- Trays return to starting position.
- Film advances for next cycle.
During the return of the cavities to the starting position the trays are lifted to facilitate the removal and reloading of the cavities.
