The BHS-Belt Filter can be used for separating sedimenting and abrasive solids from suspensions with little wear. The various filtrates are separated exactly and without intermixing. If required, the filter cake can undergo further treatment in the form of multiple reverseflow washing, suction drying or pressing.

General description
HOFFMANN belt filters operate on the gravity filtration principle. Depending on the level of filtering required, filter paper with differing degrees of porosity are used.
These filters cleanse emulsions and low-viscosity oils used in machining of steel, castings, aluminum and other nonferrous metals. We recommend using stainless steel models when handling aggressive fluids, such as wastewater and chemicals.

|
Dual Belt Filters
These are sludge dewatering devices that apply mechanical pressure to a chemically conditioned slurry, which is sandwiched between two tensioned belts, by passing those belts through a serpentine of decreasing diameter rolls. The machine can actually be divided into three zones: gravity zone, where free draining water is drained by gravity through a porous belt; wedge zone, where the solids are prepared for pressure application; and pressure zone, where medium, then high pressure is applied to the conditioned solids.
Typically, a belt filter press receives a slurry ranging from 1 - 4 % feed solids and produces a final product of 12 - 35 % cake solids. Performance depends on the nature of the solids being processed.
Typical Applications:
- Food processing wastes
- Pulp & Paper wastes
- Chemical sludges
- Pharmaceutical wastes
- Industrial waste processing sludges
- Petrochemical wastes

Maxflow combines filtration without filter aids - or, if they are required, with considerably reduced quantities of filter aids - and briquetting in a single unit. The main fields of application for Maxflow are particle filtration, the retrieval of recyclable materials and the purification of aqueous solutions.
Maxflow is available in three variants:
- The plug&play solution is a fast and effective solution to a great number of typical process requirements.
- Adaption of the individual components, for example by adding another filter disc to the unit.
- Implementation of a complete system, which can be custom adjusted to meet both known or as yet unencountered customer requirements.
GKD-CompactFiltration's Maxflow concept is a tried and tested serial product with the flexibility needed to be integrated into any customer-specific process. It has proven its efficiency in terms of meeting established standards and as a made-to-measure individual solution. Thanks to worldwide standardized parts and the global presence of GKD through six production facilities, the Maxflow system can be deployed anywhere in the world with equal efficiency. Comprehensive solutions competence, covering all stages from initial layout and dimensioning through to commissioning of the equipment and later expansion or modification to adapt it to changing production conditions, qualifies GKD-CompactFiltration as an efficient systems supplier and reliable technology partner in all stages of the process.

The BHS-Autopress can be used for separating moderate to poor fil-tering suspensions efficiently. Media that need to be treated in closed machines for reasons of sterility, toxicity and workplace hygiene are se-parated safely and reliably.
If required, you may also treat the cake by washing, extraction, pressing blow-out and drying. Low cake thick-ness, complete filtration without heel volume and an ex-ceptionally low level of residual moisture in the pre-dried cake ensure extremely high throughput rates.
The highly efficient cake washing process occurring in the BHS-Auto-press produces an absolutely pure product without inter-mixing. The encapsulated version (for pharmaceutical products and in GMP design) can also be used for filtering toxic or volatile media.
The BHS Autopress is made up of the following principal compo-nents:
# horizontal stack of filter plates
# movable filtration housing
# scraper

|
|
The BHS-Pressure Plate Filter is a pressure filter that operates on an intermittent basis and is used primarily for separating solids/ liquids in average to poor filtering suspensions with relatively low solids content, for adsorptive filtration processes (adsorption through filter cake) as well as for clarifying filtration.
|
|
The BHS-Rotary Pressure Filter is a continuously operating filter of pressure-tight design. This makes it ideal for processing volatile and hazardous products as well as for sterile processes.
Extensive subsequent treatment processes are possible, such as cake washing in one to five stages with or against the direction of flow, solids/liquid extraction, steaming, blow-out, intermediate suction, subsequent hot drying and many others. The BHS-Rotary Pressure Filter works on the principle of cake filtration and is designed for the following operating parameters:
# Pressure differences up to 6 bar
# Cake thickness up to 185 mm
# Operating temperatures up to 160C
# Filtration capacity range 200 to 50 000 l/mh
# Solids content from 0,5 % by weight
# Main grain size distribution 5 to 200 m

BHS-Candle Filters work intermittently using filter elements arranged vertically in a pressure vessel.
BHS-Candle Filters are used as deep-bed or precoat filters for clarifying liquids with a low solids content. Although the BHS-Candle Filter is used ideally for batch filtration it can also be employed for continuous cycles.
The suspension is filled into the pressure vessel and constantly replenished up by pump. The filter cake builds on the outside of the filter candles, the filtrate being discharged from the inside of the candle through immersed and register pipes. The filter cake can be dried after filtration. A blast of compressed air finally lifts and discharges the cake.

Becofil Candle Demisters
'Becofil' Candle Demisters, commonly referred to as Candle Filters - are intended primarily for the removal of very fine mist particles of less than 2 microns. A combination of impingement for removing greater than 1-2 microns and diffusion for finer particles where Brownian motion becomes increasingly predominant.
Each filter is composed of millions of fibres, and although the efficiency of each individual fiber is low, the cumulative effect is very high. Low approach velocities are necessary in order not to mask the diffusion velocities associated with Brownian movement. Candle filters are installed vertically and gases pass horizontally through the filter wall, the trapped particles coalescing and draining through the filter bed.
The continuing development of 'Becofil' Candle Demisters coupled with the experience gained from hundreds of applications worldwide, enables Begg Cousland to offer a range of filters to conform to the varying requirements of industry in terms of capacity, pressure loss and mist removal efficiency.
'Becofil' Candle Demisters will help to eliminate visible stack plumes, meet todays more stringent air pollution regulations and recover more lost products from processes. It will also help to remove pollutants, which may cause corrosion further downstream resulting in costly premature replacement of equipment and maintenance down time.
|
|
Candle filters utilize groups of columnar filter elements sealed within a pressure vessel to produce a cake with dry solids contents as high as 80% and filtrate of extremely high clarity. Filtration is completely contained, making candle filters an ideal choice for processing solvents, concentrated acids and other toxic products.
Typical Applications:
- Pulp and paper (recausticizating)
- Alumina (specialty hydrates)
- Precious metal catalysts
- Filtrate and concentrate polishing

An Important Advance in Cartridge Filtration:
Now you can have all the benefits of cartridge filtration for industrial and commercial applications - while getting complete corrosion resistance. Hayward's one-piece, seamless, plastic-body cartridge filters will never rust or corrode, nor will they contaminate the process fluid.
Thousands of Applications:
Hayward's Series 4200 all-plastic cartridge filters have been designed to work in the most demanding of applications - whether for high purity water or aggressive chemical filtration. These heavy-wall-housing filters will withstand operating pressures of up to 150 PSI with no problem. Series 4200 filters will work in corrosive atmospheres and harsh environments, places where a metal housing would have to be painted or epoxy-coated just to survive. All this, plus light weight and easy installation, make the Hayward Series 4200 cartridge filter right for your application.
The Right Configuration for Your Application:
Series 4200 cartridge filter housings are offered in three sizes - making it easier to choose the exact filter for your application requirements. And you can choose between two types of Hayward cartridges. Hayward HC cellulose cartridges are perfect for all types of water filtration up to 165F. Their special design packs 47 sq ft of filter media into a 16" tall cartridge. Hayward PF polypropylene cartridges are silicone-free and feature graded density construction for superior particle retention.
Duplex Models:
Choose a Hayward Series 4200 duplex cartridge filter for those applications where the pipeline flow cannot be shut down to change out filter cartridges. Duplex filters allow the pipeline flow to be diverted to one of the two filter housings. This permits the off-line housing to be serviced without flow shutdown.

Rotary style sieving units can offer many benefits over their flat bed vibratory counterparts. They can deliver significantly higher capacities within the same footprint and can often be installed as an integral part of the product transportation process.
There are two main categories of rotary sieves:
Liquis Solid Separation
The Liquid Solid Separator is Russell Finex's advanced version of traditional liquid separators. This multi purpose machine has the ability to deal with soft and fibrous oversized solids and is adaptable to virtually any process.
The centrifugal action of the impeller provides the liquid separator with the ability to achieve high capacity separation on fine meshes down to 30 microns. This system can easily match capacities of 60" diameter vibratory screens and is ideal for applications that require high capacity filtration where investment of a centrifuge is not viable.
Dry Powder Separation
The Turbo Sieve is a non-vibratory screening machine. A paddle assembly rotates at high speed inside a stationary cylindrical screen, causing the material to be passed through the static screen by centrifugal action.
Any oversize particles stay within the screen and are moved along the screen basket by paddle blades towards the oversize outlet located at the end of the screen basket.
