Maxflow combines filtration without filter aids - or, if they are required, with considerably reduced quantities of filter aids - and briquetting in a single unit. The main fields of application for Maxflow are particle filtration, the retrieval of recyclable materials and the purification of aqueous solutions.
Maxflow is available in three variants:
- The plug&play solution is a fast and effective solution to a great number of typical process requirements.
- Adaption of the individual components, for example by adding another filter disc to the unit.
- Implementation of a complete system, which can be custom adjusted to meet both known or as yet unencountered customer requirements.
GKD-CompactFiltration's Maxflow concept is a tried and tested serial product with the flexibility needed to be integrated into any customer-specific process. It has proven its efficiency in terms of meeting established standards and as a made-to-measure individual solution. Thanks to worldwide standardized parts and the global presence of GKD through six production facilities, the Maxflow system can be deployed anywhere in the world with equal efficiency. Comprehensive solutions competence, covering all stages from initial layout and dimensioning through to commissioning of the equipment and later expansion or modification to adapt it to changing production conditions, qualifies GKD-CompactFiltration as an efficient systems supplier and reliable technology partner in all stages of the process.

We manufacture Filter Presses of different capacities, types and from different materials to suit customer needs. The Filter plates are generally made from Virgin Polypropylene, SS, Phosphor Bronze or CI and their size vary from 355 x 355 mm square to 1500 x 1500 mm square. The Presses are generally made as sliding type for small & medium capacities while large plates are hung from overhead I-beam. Plate closing load is applied by Capstan screw arrangement for small presses operating at low pressures while bigger machines are fitted with Hydraulic system for this purpose. We can offer a wide variety of Filter Press to choose for the specific application.

Filter Press Cloths
Filter presses were introduced at the turn of the century and have been around for many years. A filter press contains a series of plates with a filtering surface on both sides. The plates are covered with a press cloth. Many of these plates are pushed together to form chambers with sufficient filtration area for the application. A slurry is forced into the chamber. The press cloth allows the filtrate to pass through, dewatering the filter cake which forms on the press cloth. The cake is discharged by pulling the plates apart. The cycle then repeats itself. Filter presses are among the most versatile of all liquid/solid separation unit operations. They adapt easily to variations in feed concentrations, particle size and other physical properties, delivering very dry cake and high solids capture with low chemical conditioning costs.
Press Types:
- Plate and frame
- Recessed chamber
- Membrane chamber
Typical Applications:
- Silicas / Silicates
- Pigment and dyes
- Chemical processing

Chamber Filter Presses
Chamber filter presses utilize an advanced frame filter press design. The frames are actually integrated into the two adjacent plates. Whereas the sealing area on the periphery of the plate has a parallel surface, the face of the plate inside the sealing edge is recessed, forming a chamber for the filter cake formation. Typically, the suspension is fed through a channel arranged in the center of the plates and the filter cloth is stretched over the surface of the plates. Studs or corrugations on the plate surface enable the filtrate to be discharged. Options include a cloth sealed against the infeed channel by screws, or a cloth covering both sides of the plate. It is funneled through the inlet channel where a flexible hose-like connection forms the seal. The filtrate is picked up by the studded or ribbed area and discharged via outlet and collecting channels in the corners of the plates.

The MonoScour filter is a heavy duty, high rate gravity filter designed for treating high turbidity loads and difficult particulates such as those typically encountered following chemical treatment with polymers and coagulants. It is particularly useful following clarifiers, lime softeners, in wastewater applications, cooling tower side stream filtration and all other gravity filter applications where high filtering rates are required.
The MonoScour filter is fully automatic and incorporates a self-contained backwash compartment that eliminates the need for backwash pumps and tanks. It also includes a vigorous air scour step to efficiently clean the filter media while minimizing the volume of backwash water consumed.
The Monovalve gravity filter is the predecessor to our Monoscour Filter product line.

Polytech’s gravity bed filters, which offer automatic operation and use low cost bulk roll filter media, are well suited to applications with moderate contaminant levels. Contaminated liquid flows through non-woven synthetic filter fabric supported by the conveyor belt. As filtered contaminants restrict the liquid flow, the liquid level rises and actuates a float switch which starts the conveyor. Unlike so-called “deep bed filters” which utilize a submerged edge seal to prevent contaminated coolant from leaking directly into the filtered coolant tank, the filter paper contains the entire pool of liquid and filter paper is transported beneath the liquid. You get reliable filtration without seal maintenance. Gravity filters are available as filter chassis only or fully outfitted with tank, pump and electrical controls.

Gravity filtration
Head pressure of incoming coolant forces particulates over weirs or through a continuously moving media barrier. Clean coolant is then sent back to process.

The AutoMag filtration system can be utilised on any machine tool to remove ferrous and para-magnetic particles that cannot be removed by conventional cartridge and membrane media.
The main benefits of using Automag compared to cartridge type filters are:
Low running costs
No maintenance costs
No downtime associated with changing filter media
No loss of fluid due to replacing sodden cartridges
No back pressure, even when the magnetic cores are totally saturated with contamination
No mess!
Because Automag attracts even sub-micron sized particles extending the useful life of the fluid.
Incorporating high intensity rare earth magnetic material, pole concentrators and proven magnetic circuit geometry, the rods generate controlled, deep reaching magnetic flux fields which produce a staggering 9,000 Gauss. These flux fields attract and retain any magnetic particles that are suspended in the fluid.
