Active Carbon
Carbon Bed Filters are of vertical fabricated construction generally mounted on skirts.
In operation, the process fluid enters the filter above the bed, through the inlet nozzle and via radial distribution lateral, designed to ensure an even flow distribution over the top surface of the carbon.
The contaminated medium passes through the granular activated carbon bed, where the impurities are attracted to the very high surface area of the Carbon.
The carbon bed is supported on a graded 'Silex' base consisting of a course and fine layer of which will fully support large volumes of carbon.

The CYCLESORB Service is a mobile adsorption service combining adsorber and transport vessel for the treatment of liquid streams.
The Cyclesorb ® are pre-loaded with carbon and delivered to a site. The unit is operated until saturation of the activated carbon. A second unit is then delivered at the same time that the exhausted unit is picked to minimise transport.
Once the unit is returned to a Chemviron Carbon facility it is discharged of spent carbon, cleaned, checked and refilled with virgin or reactivated carbon.
The CYCLESORB ® units come complete with piping, valves and connections suitable for immediate connection to the stream to be treated. The frame for the unit allows it to be placed on a suitable flat and hard surface.
The liquid is pumped through the units in a down flow direction. The outlet should be monitored periodically to check the activated carbon is achieving the treatment objective by regularly taking samples.
The benefits of this service include:
Simple installation and operation - The units are designed for connection with flexible hosing and come with the activated carbon installed. No carbon handling is required as the unit is simply exchanged.
Rapid installation - CYCLESORBS are normally available from inventory, ready for immediate startup and operation.
Low capital expense - CYCLESORBS are supplied on a service basis requiring no capital expenditure.
Partnership - Chemviron Carbon supply both the system and reactivation service and therefore have a vested interest to ensure the system fully meets the requirements.

The Electric H2O Closed Loop Filtration System (CL Filter) is a high-pressure media filter, constructed from epoxy-lined carbon steel and designed to remove suspended solids down to 10, 5 and 0.5 microns from closed loop heating and cooling systems. The system is designed to maximize filtration flow and minimize backwash time and volume. As the filtered particulates accumulate on the media bed, the pressure differential across the bed increases. When a pre-determined set point is reached, the self-cleaning automatic citywater backwash cycle is initiated, after which filtration is resumed. The NEMA 4X control panel also incorporates a manual and timed override automatic backwash. Dual electric
actuators and four two-way bronze ball valves prevent any closed loop system water loss during backwash
|
|
|
The automatic backwash filter BOXER A/AD offers the maximum comfort. The backwash process is released by timer-control. The backwash interval can be set between 7 and 90 days. However, the backwash process may also be released manually. The ergonomically shaped one-hand turning handle as well as the special backwash valve facilitate the release of the backwash even in case of high water pressure. Furthermore, the valve is designed in a way that it closes automatically.

Automatic Backwashing Filtration System
Self-cleaning filters represent the ideal situation and provide the most productive and labor free solution. Rosedale Products' ABW is unique because our patented technology backwashes with the lowest volume of liquid. This is achieved by using normal shop air (propane or nitrogen can also be used) to create the shear velocity needed to effectively clean the filter with only the clean liquid inside each housing.
Flexible and Versatile
Flow rates from less than a hundred to several thousand GPM can be easily accommodated. Also, to meet footprint or space requirements, we can configure the systems on one side of the headers for long narrow aisles or up against walls or place the housings on both sides of the headers for shorter, but broader areas. Combustible/Explosive areas can take advantage of our state-of-the-art Air Logic control systems which are totally pneumatic and inherently safe. Micron ratings from 5 micron and larger are available in a variety of filter media including standard bags and wedgewire. Continuous flow is maintained by taking only one station at a time off-line for cleaning - the rest of the housings continue filtering.

Filter System
The innovative Eaton (Ronningen-Petter) AFR-Series
high-flow filtration of water-like liquids, at
meter footprint. A single AFR-Series equals the
performance of an in-line filter in only one-fifth the
floor space.
AFR-Series minimizes the number of moving parts for

The GHT 4x4 is the total traction filter press with high productivity. The filter plates, which are hung from the upper beam, are moved automatically by a rapid shifting device equipped with a carousel system which reduces the filter press opening and closing sequence to the minimum. Four hydraulic cylinders placed on the plate pack corners ensure perfect operation and limited structural stress, even in the most unfavourable working conditions. Different from the traditional push-type systems, the “total traction” system does not transmit any stress to the upper beam, which is only subjected to weight of plates supported from it. In fact, the forces applied by the closing device are subjecting the tie beams to tension, which avoids stress on the frame and consequently, the risk of structural deformation. Effectively guarded moving parts and the use of state-of-the-art electronic interlock systems mean that the GHT 4x4 conforms to the highest operator health and safety regulations. Routine maintenance operations are simple, thanks to easy access to the filter plates, both for inspection and for filter cloth replacement.

Simplex Bag Filters PVC / CPVC
Simplex Bag Filters PPL / PVDF
Duplex Bag Filters
Filter Bags
Accept Most Standard Filter Bags:
For application versatility these all plastic housings will accept most standard 7" diameter filter bags. The single length vessel uses Size 01 bags, 7" x 16", while the double length vessel uses Size 02 bags, 7" x 32". This permits the vessel to be used with thousands of different types of filter bags to exactly match the applications requirements. With a Hayward PVC or CPVC bag filter you are not limited to just a few "non-standard" size filter bags.
Advanced Design:
This all plastic housing is designed to stand up to the most demanding industrial and commercial applications around. Rugged, thick wall construction ensures years of trouble free service and the housing is rated at a full 150 PSI. The built-in true union piping and drain connections makes installation and operation quick and easy. With this feature the filter housing can be removed from the piping system without having to break down the piping system. Just unscrew the assembly nut and remove the connecting pipe. The integral mounting base also makes for an easy installation and eliminates the need for extra cost support legs. The housing has two bottom outlet connections so that either can be used as a drain connection. This makes possible both in-line or loop piping installations. The one-piece, corrosion resistant plastic body has an extremely smooth interior surface that is very easy to clean. The housing comes standard with a plastic cover vent valve.
Easy Bag Change:
The hand-removable, no tools required, spin-off cover makes filter bag changing quick and easy. There are no swing bolts to deal with as on a metal filter housing. Just a few turns of the built in 15" cover handle opens and closes the housing with little effort.
Corrosion is Never a Problem:
A metal filter housing will ultimately rust or corrode and contaminate the process media. This can never happen with a Hayward PVC or CPVC all plastic bag filter housing, it will never rust, corrode or contaminate the process media and the housings light weight makes installation easy.
|
|
Each filter houses bag type elements mounted onto a division plate and held positively in position by means of snap rings.
The elements are manufactured from man-made cotton fibre and offer high dirt holding capacity combined with a low maintenance costs and quick change out of filter bags, making this a cost effective means of filtration.
The filter bags are fully supported in robust stainless steel support housings, and will meet the levels of efficiency corresponding to your requirements.

Bag filters have many uses in coolant filtration. They are often used as a pre-filter to remove large solid contaminants that might cause pump problems. They are well suited applications with modest solids loading. Chips and swarf that are porous can fill the bag, providing very efficient filter media use. Bags are a good pick on applications that require the contaminants to be packed in drums for disposal, as the bags collapse and pack easily.
Bag filters have a relatively small surface area, about 4 – 5 sq. ft. in the largest standard housings. Therefore, we do not recommend them where the solids form a thin impervious layer, blinding off coolant flow.
|
|
|
Bypass-free filtration and optimized capacity utilization. The cleaned solids remain in the filter bag and can be disposed of with it.
|
|
The bag filter is an advanced filter system with a basket strainer. An unfiltered liquid enters the housing above the bag or basket and passes down through them. Solids are contained inside the bag or basket, where they are easily and completely removed when the unit is serviced.
The bag filter's characteristics are high-precision, high-efficient and stability and it is designed and constructed in compliance with three major filtration principles: superb filtration , surface filtration and adsorption filtration.
