NOZIP® is a homogenous NanO ZInc Powder, consisting of spherical (loosely) agglomerated particles of about 100 nm (0,1 µm). This is 25 times smaller than the size of the smallest commercial available zinc powder. After sonication in an organic solvent, NOZIP® is desagglomerated in its primary nanoparticles of about 35 nm.
This high purity submicron size zinc powder has been developed for the chemical industry. Its high specific surface area and metallic content lead to an excellent reactivity, beneficial in chemical reactions (organic and organometallic synthesis) based on zinc powder. Its reactivity is far beyond the one of current commercial zinc powders. |

Sandvik Materials Technology produces billets for flanges, bars, wire rod, strip and similar products. We offer billets in most stainless steel grades and product forms. With our high quality, we satisfy the customers' demands as to the final product. Round-cornered square billets and round billets are produced in a wide size range. Slabs are supplied for strip, rolling.
Square billets are offered in unground, spotground or fully ground condition. Round billets are normally supplied in the peeled condition.
An important field of application for forging billets is the production of flanges, which are often used as a supplementary product in tube installations. |

Allvac® CP, or Commercially Pure, titanium grades (UNS-R50250, R50400, R50550, & R50700) are used where high ductility combined with
excellent corrosion resistance, moderate strength, and good weldability are desired. The four grade numbers (30, 40, 55, and 70) refer to the
approximate minimum yield strengths for each grade. The different grades are characterized by differences in oxygen levels.
These four titanium grades are produced by vacuum arc remelting. Typical product forms are billet, rolled bar, rod, and drawn wire products for
applications such as airframe skin and structural components, cryogenic vessels, heat exchangers, chemical processing equipment, and medical and
surgical device applications. |

Continuous galvanising
In this continuous galvanising process, sheet steel is coated with a thin zinc layer by drawing the steel continuously through a bath with a liquid zinc alloy. For this process specially produced zinc alloys with aluminium are generally used, called CGG zinc alloys, with the aluminium content typically varying from 0.1% to 1%. Some processes also use zinc alloys with a higher aluminium content ( such as "Galfan") or a mix of aluminium and lead.
Nyrstar produces zinc/aluminium alloys according to specifications that are developed in close consultation with our customer. These alloys are all produced from Special High Grade zinc (SHG) and are available in jumbos in the range of 1000 kg to 4000 kg and slabs of 25 kg.
The melting and casting process at Nyrstar is developed to produce homogeneous alloys that are cast in jumbos that are free from shrinkage cavities and zinc oxides. This guarantees our customer a product that is suitable for the optimal performance of the galvanising process. |
