The Model HC or HCD clutches are designed to be used in either an end of shaft or through shaft mounting configuration. Their compact size makes these units ideal for incorporating within a gear housing. Multiple speed transmissions use a variety of these units to effect fixed mesh speed changes, or they may be used as a stand alone device for disconnect service.
All units incorporate provisions for forced oil cooling allowing high energy engagements to be made without causing themal distress within the disc pack. Cooling oil is introduced from an external supply through axial holes provided in the shaft.
Marine main propulsion forward/reverse or disconnect service, winch disconnects, conveyor or mill soft-starts, and multi-speed transmissions are but a few of the applications for the model HC/HCD oil immersed clutches. |

| ICP manufacture a range of paper / sintered friction and steel intermediate plates. The product range covers most industrial and off highway applications and is produced to high quality standards. Excellent availability and delivery including low volumes for special applications. |
|
This product group includes all plate type friction components for clutches and brakes which possess driving teeth or lugs on their outer or inner diameters. Both plate and counterplate must be considered together, in general one plate with friction material works together with a counterplate of steel or cast iron.
The plates are the important functional element in every clutch and brake, and have been developed in many different ways since the early days of clutches and brakes. Ortlinghaus has played an important role in the total development of friction clutches, one example of its contributions being the patented, well known, sprung steel plate, known world-wide under the trademark 'Sinus'. The use for the first time of sintered plates in clutches, was also an important development. In the course of this development every relevant technological step forward - whether in frictional material, mechanical or heat treatment process -has been applied directly to the manufacture of the plates. As a result Ortlinghaus plates today contain the results of nearly one hundred years of research and development and represent a highly specialised component.
Supported by the experience gained over this long period of time, Ortlinghaus is today, able to provide a very comprehensive range of clutch and brake plates in a multitude of different dimensions, friction combinations and surface patterns. The number of standard plates listed in our catalogue is large and most of these are available ex stock, satisfying most of our customer requirement from this well proven range. Our customers benefit from quick availability angood price arrived at from volume production. Should it not be possible to solve a particular design problem with these plates, as listed in our catalogue, we are always ready to manufacture plates to meet specific customer wishes. In this area too our experience is extensive, every requirement can be satisfied with the aid of the most modern manufacturing techniques forms of oil channels.

Disc brakes are used on conveyors for four main reasons:
An emergency stop.
For normal stopping and parking.
Where one conveyor feeds another and there is risk of over spill.
Wherever there exists a risk of personal injury particularly under ground. |

The name for Wichita's ModEvo tension control brake is derived from 'modular' and 'evolutionary', terms that describe it perfectly. Modular - because braking systems to suit diverse tensioning applications can be assembled from a minimal number of modules common to the entire ModEvo range. Evolutionary - because continuous development of new materials, improved design and manufacturing techniques have enabled Wichita to develop ModEvo to match all customers' tension needs at affordable cost
The advantages of the new ModEvo brake lie in the versatility of the modular system, ensuring that the requirements of a wide range of printing and converting unwind tension applications can be met from just a handful of parts common to the ModEvo range. This in turn brings cost benefits, as users can choose just the options they require and add to or upgrade these as their needs change, while carrying a minimum of spare parts.

Simple to be intalled and compact; the Airing radial units are engaged by an air tube and can be used as drum brakes (in stopping and holding applications) or clutches (to connect two shafts directly or through a pulley).
Maximum torque from 40 to 4 000 Nm.
The high thickness friction pad and the reliable air tube ensure high performances and low maintenance cost. |
|
The DC and DCV constricting drum clutches and brakes are found all throughout industry in general power transmission duties.
Constructed using an integral rim and tube actuator, the DC has low inertia and high misalignment capacity, offering a simple solution to less arduous clutch and brake requirements.
A full range of options is available: Dual flanges for back to back mounting giving double torque capacity. Multiple air inlets for increased response speed. Split construction to avoid removal of the shafts on in-line drives. And wether you require just the friction shoe or mounting pins, or a complete actuator and rim assembly, all are backed by the Wichita name for service and reliability

| Hysteresis Brake Dynamometers (HD series) are versatile and ideal for testing in the low to middle power range (max. 14 kW intermittent duty). Hysteresis Brakes do not require speed to create torque, and therefore can provide a full motor ramp from free-run to locked rotor. Brake cooling is provided by convection (no external source) or by air (compressed air or dedicated blower) depending on the model. Hysteresis Dynamometers have both continuous and intermittent power ratings where the dynamometer is capable of dissipating more power for shorter periods of time. All Hysteresis Dynamometers have accuracy ratings of ±0.25% to ±0.5% full scale, depending on size and system configuration. Also available are special designs for high-speed motor testing. |

The electrodynamic brake type BR 380... allows for wear and tear free braking of three phase and AC asynchonous motors which is achieved by feeding a direct current onto the motor coil.
Upon expiration of the braking time, the braking operation is ended after machine has come to a standstill.
Switching the motor off will introduce the fully automatic braking cycle.

| The magnetic DC shoe brakes are spring set and electrically released. The brake is set when 230 VDC power is removed from the brakes coil(s). The type TM brakes electrical mechanism consists of one or two DC magnets. As power is introduced to the coils it creates an electro-magnetic field that brings the coils together to release the brake. Cutting power to the coils allows the spring to extend back to its normal state and sets the brake. Shunt or series coils are available and rated for continuous or intermittent duty ratings. We also offer single point adjustment on brakes 8 inches in wheel diameter or larger. This speeds up the brake installation and shoe lining wear adjustment by a single point adjusting feature. Brake wheel diameters of 41/2" to 30" are available, and are AISE rated. Rectifiers are available for AC operation. |

Explosion proof single disc Brakes - EEx Line
The EEX LINE is comprised of spring-applied single-disc brakes with explosion protection for use in potentially explosion hazards locations. The flame proofed spring applied brake is suitable for use in
underground mines where there is a danger of firedamp. Explosion proofed spring-applied brakes are characterised by the fact that all components which may ignite explosive mixtures are placed in an enclosure designed to withstand the specified test pressure and to prevent any mixtures outside the enclosure from being affected by the explosion. The brakes are corrosion protected. The hand release
feature fitted to the brake allows the braking effect to be neutralised manually.
