The needs of mining are unique.
So You need brakes that will hold up under the worst environments, and you need brakes that won't shut down your operation.
You need service, and you need reliability. Ausco understands what a brake has to endure inside a mine. We universally recommend sealed, multi-disc wet brakes.
This product cannot be trammed through, is easy to install and represents the best brake in the market for this application. We have also had great success in applying wet brake technology to mining personnel carriers, scalers, and other difficult applications. |
|
Our disc brakes are designed to operate in the most arduous conditions, typically in the steel industry where the operating environment is extreme, and the container industry where reliable operation all year round is expected.
Twiflex brakes are often specified for the main hoist, acting as service brakes mounted on the input shaft and as emergency brakes mounted on the output shaft or directly on the main drum

| The hydraulic shoe brakes are spring released and hydraulically set for controlled stopping. Applications such as indoor and outdoor bridge cranes are just some of the examples. These proven high performance brake systems are tough, reliable and provide trouble free service. Brake wheel sizes ranging from 6 inches to 18 inches are available. Brakes are available either with standard hydraulic setting, setting with parking feature or with air powered hydraulic operation. The powered systems may be direct or remote controlled. Air remote control, hydraulic remote control, and electric remote control allow the customer the flexibility to satisfy most requirements. |
|
Powerful, compact and versatile; max. braking force from 20 000 to 100 000 N.
The new Coremo proposal generated by continuous research and development to meet Customers requirements also in the fields of energy, seaport and marine, lifting systems and conveyors, mining and oil.
Failsafe version (spring applied) also available. |

The Wichtia Air-Tube Disc Clutch combines all the best features of the disc type clutch with all the advantages of the direct air engagement. The simplest and most trouble-free method of applying air pressure is through direct axial pressure application by compressed air in a special composition full-circle tube.
Wichita Clutches engage smoothly without noise, shock or impact and release completely in a fraction of a second. Extremely fast action is possible because of the small volume of air required. |

| With safety becoming an increasingly important factor in the design and manufacture of equipment, it has become necessary to add a brake to many critical machine functions. In response to that concern, White Drive Products offers the BK10 Series brake. All internal components, including roller bearings, brake disks, springs and seals were chosen for maximum durability. To further extend the life of the unit and reduce noise, all internal components run in an oil bath. Two brake release ports are also provided to simplify plumbing and bleeding of the brake release circuit during installation. All of these features combine to make the BK10 Series brake the top choice for any static brake application requiring 10,000 lb-in of holding torque. |
|
| Pure Hysteresis Brakes produce torque strictly through a magnetic air gap without the use of magnetic particles or friction components. This method of braking provides far superior operating characteristics (smoother torque, longer life, superior repeatability, high degree of controllability, and less maintenance and down time) which make them the preferred choice for precise tension control during the processing of nearly any material, web or strand. |
|
Magnetic Technologies Ltd. offers a complete line of hysteresis brakes for tensioning and torque limiting.
• Torque range from 0.1 inch ounce to 140+ inch pounds.
• Hysteresis brakes have no break-away torque, no wearing parts, and use no electricity. |

| Hydraulic or pneumatic safety brake - High performance density | Backlash-free force transmission | Applicable in both directions | Brake release without moving the axes |
|
Design principle of the pneumatically and electromagnetically systems
The linear brake systems consist of the brake module, which is connected to the drive group (carriage, table) that moves, and a steel band, which is held at its ends under tension in special brackets.
This band is aligned parallel to the direction of movement of the drive. The wide sides of the band form the frictional surfaces against which the friction linings of the brake module act.
The force, with which the friction linings are pressed against the band to generate a frictional connection between band and brake module, is spring applied and pneumatically / electromagneticallly released. A number of brake modules can be arranged one behind the other to act on one band. The standard brackets holding the band are designed for a maximum force of 3.000 N per band. The brackets are mounted on the base plate of the linear drive or on the machine frame and serve at the same time for the aligning and pretensioning of the band.

All Wichita Marine Clutch units are
custom built to satisfy marine
classification society requirements.
The Wichita Standard Ventilated Clutch
is usually used in combination with

transmission. The simple air-tube
design, with minimum air volume and
high engagement and disengagement
speeds, is unaffected by centrifugal
force and has no self-energisation like
drum clutch designs.
Ideally suited for high inertia loads such
as main propulsion drives where
smooth controlled starts are needed.

Ausco has raised the standard for mechanical calipers with its new EZTorque ball ramp caliper design. This brake produces the highest torque of any caliper in its class. This means more holding power with less user input force. In addition, Ausco makes a wide variety of other mechanical caliper brakes for both service and parking applications.
