Simple to be intalled and compact; the Airing radial units are engaged by an air tube and can be used as drum brakes (in stopping and holding applications) or clutches (to connect two shafts directly or through a pulley).
Maximum torque from 40 to 4 000 Nm.
The high thickness friction pad and the reliable air tube ensure high performances and low maintenance cost. |

The DC and DCV constricting drum clutches and brakes are found all throughout industry in general power transmission duties.
Constructed using an integral rim and tube actuator, the DC has low inertia and high misalignment capacity, offering a simple solution to less arduous clutch and brake requirements.
A full range of options is available: Dual flanges for back to back mounting giving double torque capacity. Multiple air inlets for increased response speed. Split construction to avoid removal of the shafts on in-line drives. And wether you require just the friction shoe or mounting pins, or a complete actuator and rim assembly, all are backed by the Wichita name for service and reliability

| Eddy Current clutches give torque as a function of RPM. The faster you turn the rotor, the more torque. This means by increasing or decreasing the RPM, you can get infinite torque adjustment. Typically, we rate the clutch with a gain factor (k), which is gram millimeters/rpm or Newton meters/rpm and we design the clutch to have an operating "slip rpm" between 1 and 300 rpm. |

| electromagnetic energise to engage pole face clutches - Half the wear | High torque security | Low noise | Short switching times / high switching frequencies | Correct function until end of wear | Large permissible shaft diameters due to large internal diameters of the magnetic coil bodies |

The most popular range of MEROBEL's EMP Brakes, offering tailored solutions for every needs from its 10 sizes and up to 5 different version (acceptable power dissipation level) for each size.
- EMP technology (ElectroMagnetic Particle)
- Torque proportional to the electric current, independent of the slipping speed
- 5 different versions (power dissipation) available
MEROBEL's EMP clutches are built from the addition of slip ring and brushes to the EMP brakes.
This range of devices is offering two different power dissipation levels for each size (without or with cooling fins)

| The electromagnetic Powder Coupling combines the resilience of a fluid coupling with the locked-in stability of a friction clutch. Torque is transmitted by a specially alloyed dry ferromagnetic powder, the apparent viscosity of which may be changed by modulation of the field coil current . The couplings can sustain continuous slip (within their empirically estabilished heat ratings) at a precise and stable torque value, which is determined by excitation level. |

The Wichtia Air-Tube Disc Clutch combines all the best features of the disc type clutch with all the advantages of the direct air engagement. The simplest and most trouble-free method of applying air pressure is through direct axial pressure application by compressed air in a special composition full-circle tube.
Wichita Clutches engage smoothly without noise, shock or impact and release completely in a fraction of a second. Extremely fast action is possible because of the small volume of air required. |

Like the Hysteresis Brake, the Magtrol Hysteresis Clutch develops torque strictly through a magnetic air-gap, ensuring an absolutely smooth transmission of torque from the drive unit to the driven element. Designed to be powered without the use of brushes or slip rings, and being a pure hysteresis device, there is never any fear of contamination due to wear particles or leaky seals. This makes Magtrol Hysteresis Clutches and Brakes ideal for use in food processing and clean room environments.

For every application determine the TORQUE, MAXIMUM RPM, and for brakes, the BENDING MOMENT.
Then you can choose the correct shaft or coupling, and various accessories.
All important internal clearances are ground to tolerances of less than .025mm (.001 in). Magnet Assemblies (purple) surround our hysteresis disc (gold). When like poles face each other, they produce maximum magnetic saturation, forcing lines of flux to travel circumferentially through the hysteresis disc. This produces Maximum torque.
When opposite poles face each other, they produce minimum saturation of the hysteresis disc. The lines of flux travel right through the hysteresis disc. Combinations of adjustment angles between these two extremes gives infinite adjustability. Because there are no contacting surfaces, the setting can be maintained indefinitely. |

Intermittent Drive Unit (IDU)
The Hilliard Corporation’s IDUs are packaged mechanical assemblies that produce precise intermittent motion – on demand – from a constantly rotating input.
IDUs feature a self-contained lubrication system, making them ideal for dusty, dirty, steamed or washed-down applications. The heart of these units is a Hilliard single revolution clutch. They are designed to provide up to 40 million cycles, with no accumulation of error in the stopping position.
When combined with an acceleration-deceleration unit (ADU), our IDUs provide smooth acceleration and deceleration through 360º - on demand.
Intermittent Drive Assembly (IDA)
Hilliard’s new IDA provides automatic control of intermittent motion from a constantly rotating power source.
This easy-to-install, self-contained package includes a solenoid-operated, single revolution clutch with anti-rollback and anti-overrun features. The rugged and proven, round-roller/cam-flat, single revolution clutch provides positive engagement at any point of revolution of the driving sleeve without slip, lag, or cumulative error.
Designed to replace and to provide greater life than wrap-spring assemblies, the Hilliard IDA is built to last through millions of cycles.

| The newcomer in the Ortlinghaus line of products for press drives is our hydraulically actuated form - fit linear motion lock, featuring electronic monitoring. This WORLD NOVELTY is used to lock the press ram regardless of it`s current position and can be integrated into the clutch itself. The activation of the linear motion lock can be implemented into the press control or can be activated by the machine operator from his panel. This easy to operate lock presents a maximum amount of safety for manual work within the area of the ram of presses and is regarded as a vital component for modern on the job safety. |
