Operating Features
The Wichtia Air-Tube Disc Clutch combines all the best features of the disc type clutch with all the advantages of the direct air engagement. The simplest and most trouble-free method of applying air pressure is through direct axial pressure application by compressed air in a special composition full-circle tube.
Wichita Clutches engage smoothly without noise, shock or impact and release completely in a fraction of a second. Extremely fast action is possible because of the small volume of air required.
Clutches may be slipped moderately to control the acceleration rate.

Design Features
- In-Line power applications.
- Smooth controlled engagement.
- Unaffected by centrifugal force.
All Wichita Marine Clutch units are
custom built to satisfy marine
classification society requirements.
The Wichita Standard Ventilated Clutch
is usually used in combination with
recognised flexible couplings to provide
reliable in-line power
transmission. The simple air-tube
design, with minimum air volume and
high engagement and disengagement
speeds, is unaffected by centrifugal
force and has no self-energisation like
drum clutch designs.
Ideally suited for high inertia loads such
as main propulsion drives where
smooth controlled starts are needed.

Ogura’s multiple disk clutches and brakes come in both a dry or “wet” type. The wet (in oil) type can run approximately 3 times faster than that dry type. This is because the oil helps dissipate heat generated at higher RPMs, but you may find it surprising that the wet type can also produce higher operating torque, both statically and dynamically.
Ogura products are manufactured in Europe, North and South America and Asia. Manufacturing plants are ISO9001, 14001 and TS16949 compliant. Clutches and brakes are RoHS compliant.
UK, European and Scandinavian customers please contact Michel Hehnen at mhehnen@ogura-clutch.com. All other inquiries should go to Jim Andes at jandes@ogura-clutch.com.

The Model HC or HCD clutches are designed to be used in either an end of shaft or through shaft mounting configuration. Their compact size makes these units ideal for incorporating within a gear housing. Multiple speed transmissions use a variety of these units to effect fixed mesh speed changes, or they may be used as a stand alone device for disconnect service.
All units incorporate provisions for forced oil cooling allowing high energy engagements to be made without causing themal distress within the disc pack. Cooling oil is introduced from an external supply through axial holes provided in the shaft.
Marine main propulsion forward/reverse or disconnect service, winch disconnects, conveyor or mill soft-starts, and multi-speed transmissions are but a few of the applications for the model HC/HCD oil immersed clutches.

The Safegard series of overload clutches were developed to provide overload protection of high torque values with a compact unit. Directly interchangeable with other units in the market, this series offers low cost precision with minimal maintenance for a long reliable service life.
Safegard clutches are in two basic series, the Standard series, for optimum speed and torque, and the Mini series, for lower cost option on slower speed drives. Both series are also available as shaft couplings.
Four options of operation are available.
1. The basic Safegard CSF design, using ball driving system for high speed, non synchronous applications.
2. The Synchron CSY design, with roller drive for lower speed synchronous applications.
3. The Safe Lift CSL, also with roller drive, but remaining in constant drive, only indicating overload by axial movement onto the limit switch.
4. The Safebreak CSZ design where the unit is held on totally free running condition after overload and requires manual re-engaging

Magna Torque (MT) for Backstopping and Indexing
Hilliard’s line of overrunning clutches is economically priced and ideally suited for backstopping and gearbox applications. Custom designs and rapid prototyping are available.
Roller Ramp (MTR) for Clutch Couplings, Dual-Drive & Turning Gear
There is almost no wear during freewheeling operations in the Hilliard roller-ramp designed clutch because rollers are free to rotate between the outer member and the inner cam. Typical applications for this clutch are blowers, pumps, fans, conveyors and forming rolls.
Enclosed Overrunning Clutches
Hilliard’s enclosed overrunning clutch incorporates superior MTR design in a totally enclosed package. Designed for power transmission operations, this clutch is totally contained in a stationary housing for constant protection from hostile environments or washouts.
High-Speed Overrunning Clutches
The Hilliard high-speed overrunning clutch provides positive engagement and high torque on demand. Featuring a unique roller-ramp design, the clutch when engaged transmits power via the precision-machined cam and roller assembly connected to the input shaft. Typical applications include hydraulic, electric, and pneumatic turbine starters; turbine drives, and turbine auxiliary drives.

RACO's spring brake actuator systems work completely electromechanically so that it can be used in all rail vehicles, cableway railways and escalators, etc. Their main feature is safe and jerk-free braking. The spring brake actuator system always ensures that the vehicle is braked even if the electrical equipment fails or if there is a power failure.
The explosion-proof design is also used for braking pit locomotives in underground mining.
Benefits:
small dimensions and lightweight
easy to install and connect
soft and jerk-free braking
does not ice up or freeze at low temperatures
no problems with leaky lines
no noise pollution
no media disposal and especially enviroment-friendly
low operating and service costs

Tooth clutches with and without slipring
for wet- and dry-running
11/12 Series 0012/0812 and 0013/0813
Non-slip, compact clutches with teeth for the
transmission of high torques in small spaces.
This type of clutch is the correct choice when static
engagement only, is required. Engaging at low
speeds can also be carried out subject to particular
electrical measures being taken. There is no
residual torque when the clutch is disengaged.
Power feed: In the case of 0012 via slipring and
brushes. In the case of 0013 via cables and
rectangular connectors.
