RW Series Rotary Actuator
The RW Series Rotary Actuator design utilizes two independent piston cylinders, each piston has a crank arm attached to a crankshaft. As the piston strokes in its bore, the crankshaft rotates, pressurizing the opposite bore reverses rotation. This unique design has many features and benefits over conventional rotary actuators.

The Tork-Mate 890 series actuators feature pinion travel stops that allow a full /-10° of valve travel adjustment. As an option, extended stroke adjustment screws can be added for inexpensive throttling applications.
Special piston seals provide greatly extended life compared to standard O-ring actuators. All other bearings, seals and components have been engineered to provide superior and extended service lives. |

MRS Cylinders
* The Bimba MRS® Magnetic Reed Switch Air Cylinders are specifically designed to operate Bimba position sensing switches to actuate programmable controllers, relays, solenoids, timers, or any other electrically operated equipment.
* MRS cylinders have an additional groove in the piston to accommodate a magnet. They differ from the Moption because they combine features of the "Z" line with Original Line construction. Type 303 stainless steel rods are standard.
* Options at no additional charge include Magnalube G, no thread, and switch track for standard reed switches.

For customers desiring electrical output of piston position, most Airpel models are offered with an optional switch-activating magnet on the piston, as well as one or more optional aluminum tracks attached to the cylinder. The tracks are specially designed for easy, secure mounting of the Sick, Inc. position sensors which we offer separately. We stock popular models of these extremely reliable GMR sensors along with matching accessory extension cables.
The Airpel incorporates a unique construction to become an instrument-quality air cylinder. It uses a precision fit graphite piston which slides freely – without lubrication – inside a Pyrex® glass cylinder. This makes it ideal for forces from a very few grams to 30 lbs. or more. In fact, Airpel is particularly well-suited to applications requiring smooth motion at ultra-low pressures – and to moving lightweight objects or delicate loads at slow or high speeds. But this air cylinder is no weakling. It can be used to provide brute forces, too – operating under extreme temperatures, at very high speeds and cycle rates, with no degradation in performance. It also runs cleaner than typical air cylinders because it contains no oil. What’s more, it has no rubber or plastic seals to abrade, wear out, or harden with time. And because all exposed surfaces (except pivot model bushings) are stainless steel and nickel, Airpel is extremely clean and corrosion resistant. |

Rod Lock Cylinders
* The Bimba Original Line Rod Lock Cylinder is a normally clamped unit that holds the piston rod in position when air pressure is not present. It is ideal for preventing drift at machine shut-down.
* The rod lock air cylinder has dowel pins that ride in the cam groove. When air pressure is present, piston actuates and dowel pins follow cam to open position, allowing piston rod to travel freely through clamp. In the absence of pressure, the spring actuates the piston and dowels follow to closed position, activating the rod clamp.
* The Rod Lock is not a safety device. It cannot be used for intermediate stopping; the cylinder is designed to prevent drift from a stationary position.
* Load weight must not exceed the stated holding force for the cylinder.
* Bore sizes are 3/4", 1-1/16", 1-1/2 ", and 2". |
