Infrared thermography is an effective approach to non-contact measuring of temperature distribution for a range of applications. To use this approach also in industrial process control, InfraTec offers INDU-SCAN as a modular test system based on thermographic cameras for a variety of performance ranges for stationary applications.
The thermographic camera is installed in the immediate proximity of the process to be monitored. To withstand unfavourable environmental conditions, the camera unit can be protected with a housing and an air purge unit. To cover large monitoring requirements, the camera can be mounted on a pan/tilt head. Using digital data output is an excellent pre-requisite for flawless and long-term stable processing of all pixel temperature values of the image. The image can be synchronised with the process rate. Over a connection line with varying length, if required a glass fibre transfer line, the data is passed on to the evaluation unit based on an industrial PC with a colour display.

Nor-Cal offers an extensive selection of commonly used quartz crystal feedthroughs, sensors and multi-channel monitors, cables, quartz crystals, accessories and replacement parts for use in semiconductor, optical and industrial thermal deposition processes. Custom feedthroughs are available with a variety of flanges in all sizes.
Our coating instrumentation products support one of the more popular methods of thin film measurement and rate control _ the crystal monitor, which utilizes the piezoelectric properties of a quartz crystal.
The electrical characteristics of the crystal, which is held in place by the sensor, change during deposition. Single sensors are generally used for short deposition runs, whereas, dual sensors allow for longer runs. Dual sensors require an airline to operate a pneumatic shutter which covers one crystal at a time. The sensor is either welded to the feedthrough or attached with connectors. Most sensors are available with cooling lines.
The application determines the correct choice of sensor. The sensor determines compatible feedthroughs and cabling. The chamber determines the appropriate feedthrough and flange. For application temps up to 150C, electrical connection between the sensor and feedthrough is accomplished with a vacuum coaxial cable. A bakeable, one piece sensor/feedthrough replaces the standard in-vac cable with a stainless steel high-temp coaxial line for high temperature applications up to 300C.

Today, more than 3000 LMI/Selcom laser triangulation sensors are used throughout the tire manufacturing process worldwide. Sensors monitor thickness, profile and ply overlap, to name just a few applications. In-process sensing provides immediate feedback at critical stages in the production process. In this manner, faults may be found immediately and corrective action quickly applied.
Providing reliable data from surfaces with rapidly changing colour and surface properties, LMI systems integrate high frequency response 2D and 3D profiles from surfaces, monitoring items such as radial run-out, side wall profiles and tread extrusion contours.
Our Rubber & Tire applications division works closely with System Integrators & Original Equipment Machine Suppliers and Tire Manufacturers to deliver the most effective solutions for their particular sensor vision needs.

The shearography tire test systems from Steinbichler Optotechnik have been developed for the non-destructive testing of new tires in R&D and quality control, as well as for the inspection of tire carcasses in the retreading industry. The technical basis of the systems is the TV shearography system.
During the test cycle, a low pressure (e.g., 50 mbar pressure difference) is generated in the vacuum chamber, thereby inducing deformations which are caused by the expansion of air pockets occuring in faulty areas in a tire carcass. With the TV shearography technique - a holographic measurement method which reliably detects material deformations in the range of microns - faulty areas can be localized clearly and reproducably.
The Intact systems by Steinbichler Optotechnik have successfully proven their functionality in the worldwide car-, truck-, and aircraft industries, as well as in the Formula 1 racing tire business.

Minisonic ISD detects the changes of products in a pipeline by measuring the speed of sound. The speed of sound is a precise specification of the product and has a correlation to density or concentration.
Minisonic ISD is also a detector of the passage of pigs and spheres in a pipeline by the analysis of the acoustic signal.
The measurement of the speed of sound depends on the temperature and pressure conditions, so it is necessary to use a numeric corrector to obtain the real measurements.
The Minisonic ISD is available in a standard or explosion proof model.
