Standard shaft technology. To avoid the traditional dichotomy between key- smooth shaft applications, Phase Motion Control releases the new standard shaft in which a key seat is filled with an insert (photo below) and the whole set is ground to shaft tolerance. The shaft is therefore round and ready for clamping with conical hubs (recommended). If a key is required (and the corresponding reduced servo performance is accepted) the insert can be removed and a standard key inserted. All shafts are balanced with the insert so that simple rotating parts (e.g. pulleys, gears) need not to be balanced.
Safety brake: All motors except UL 071040 have an internal cavity where the PM safety brake can be mounted. The brakes are all rare earth permanent magnet type. This new high power density brake operates without brake pads. As a consequence, the problem of pollution of the motor cavity when the brake is operated incorrectly is avoided.
Additional inertia: an extra flywheel can be introduced in the brake cavity to compensate for poor mechanical linkages between the motor and the load.
Single piece extruded frame, smooth, with O-rings on all couplings and IP 65 protection to allow flushing and sterilization in food and chemical applications
Standard circular connectors, turnable 270 degrees, standard high flexibility cables available;
Oversized front bearings improves bearing life by 70%; 28 mm shaft available on request
Peak speed 4000 rpm on standard type

These 400W and 750 W MAC motors are AC servo motor and controller combined in a single unit, offering previously unseen low pricing for the OEM market. In the MAC motor, the servo motor, hall sensors, encoder and control circuitry have been especially designed by JVL to provide a self-contained, integrated unit in which the driver and controller are mounted behind the motor in a sealed housing.
Numerous Advantages
There are many benefits achieved from having the intelligence at the device level:
- Reduced material costs Because the drive and controller are in the motor most cabling to a control panel is eliminated
- Reduced labor costs. With cabling eliminated, assembly time is greatly reduced
- Better quality & reliability. Fewer connections, less wiring
- Ease of serviceability. Because all electronics are self contained you simply change out the motor
- Better noise immunity, less noise transmission. I/O is integral eliminating noise induced from external wiring issues. Switching noise from the drive due to commutation is contained in the motor
- Reduced setup time. 4th order digital filter requires only one tuning parameter for load or reflected inertia
- OEM cost savings. Modular approach means you only pay for the functionality required

QUICKSHAFT® Linear DC-Servomotor series LM 1247
NEW TECHNOLOGY
Up to 9,4 N impact
Boasting a slimline design of 12.5 x 47 mm and a weight of only 56 grams, at full power this drive provides an impact force of 9.4 N. For the standard product the travel is 20 mm; optionally travel up to 80 mm is also available. The Linear DC-Servomotor comprises an electromechanical part, a metal housing made from a non-magnetic alloy, a coil and an analogue Hall sensor. A precision sliding metal rod equipped with a permanent magnet completes the linear motor, and together they make a dynamic, high-performance drive in a modern design.
The activation of these new QUICKSHAFT Linear motors is provided via the optimally matched motion controllers of the MCLM 3003/06 series, which are also available with a CAN interface. The free FAULHABER version 3 "Motion Manager" software provides rapid and easy control of the linear motor. In numerous applications this newly developed drive has proved itself to be the best-in-class solution for highly demanding linear movement and positioning tasks.

A DDL motor is basically a rotary motor that is laid out flat and directly coupled to the driven load. With this configuration, all mechanical transmissions, such as ball/lead screws, rack and pinions, belts/pulleys, and gearboxes are eliminated. This in turn eliminates backlash and other problems associated with these mechanical transmissions. DDL designs deliver exceptional high performance, extremely high stiffness, very high dynamic speeds and accelerations, high positional accuracy, higher throughput, compact mechanical assembly, smooth, error-free motion, zero maintenance, and quiet operation.

Linear Sigma Series
Range: 50W - 7.5kW
New speed records are achieved at margins as slim as 1/100 of a second. A finely tuned machine such as a competition bobsled can reach its peak speeds only when the driver's steering, weight shifting and other critical motion tasks are optimized during the trials.
Yaskawa Electric continuously challenges the performance barrier with the Linear Sigma Direct Drive Servomotor products to improve the speeds and accuracies of your machines. Backed by the company's rich technological expertise in the advanced rotary servo drive products, the Linear Sigma Direct Drive Servomotors will take your machine performance to the next level into the new Millennium. The Yaskawa Linear Sigma Direct Drive Servomotors are in use to improve the reliability, speed and accuracy performance in semiconductor / LCD panel production machinery, SMD placement systems as well as virtually all types of general automation applications.
