StarShape
The new StarShape series from Rofin/Baasel Lasertech provides a large number of different lasers for micro-material processing. All StarShape series applications have one thing in common: the precise, local, selective ablation of areas of the surface of a component or tool by vaporization or vaporization-induced displacement of the molten mass.
The lasers in the series can be used to structure surfaces, drill through-going or blind holes, or remove selected layers of substrates precisely to the micrometer. The materials that can be processed range from metals through ceramics and diamonds to plastics.
To cover most of ablating micro-material processing, the StarShape series includes both Nd:YAG lasers in cw or Q-switched versions, and CO2 lasers. The available wavelengths thus range from green to within the infra-red end of the spectrum. Interaction times from the few nanoseconds of end-pumped solid state lasers up to the continuous-wave range, offer suitable laser solutions for all of the above-mentioned applications. |

The CFR200 was designed to meet the needs of industrial, scientific and medical applications such as LIDAR, PIV and remote measurement. The system, based on BSLT's experience in military defense lasers, was designed for easy use in even the harshest environments.
Whether you are looking for a laser to operate in "real-world" applications, or simply looking to free up room on your lab table, the CFR200 may be your answer.
Both the CFR200 and the CFR400 come equipped with a compact case that includes an air/water cooler and electronics. The CFR400 has the same dimensions as the CFR200, but delivers twice as much energy. |

Lasers for Particle Image Velocimetry
Continuum has designed lasers specifically for PIV (Particle Image Velocimetry) studies. By adapting proven Minilite, Surelite, Inlite and Powerlite technology, Continuum makes systems to simplify the task of flow visualization |
|
A suite of dual cavity lasers designed specifically for PIV applications. Compact and rugged for indstry and research alike.
The construction of the Nano series of PIV laser systems is extremely robust. They have been developed as industrial tools that can be handled without worry of misalignment or damage. The PIV head is formed by an aluminium gauge-plate onto which two standard Nano-series heads are mounted. The output beams are combined by dielectric polarisers and then frequency doubled, and if desired can be frequency tripled, quadrupled or quintupled.
Many of the Nano PIV systems are powered by a single power supply unit, making the overall package both powerful and portable. There are two twin power supplies available, the LPU450-PIV and the LPU550-PIV, the latter allowing outputs of 200mJ at 532nm at 15Hz from each laser.
The laser system is controlled via a remote controller. All trigger and synchronisation signals are TTL compatible, and each laser is controllable entirely independently.
All Nano laser heads have a verified electronic intra-cavity safety shutter as standard, which ensures that the lasers cannot be started with the shutter open - an important safety feature. |

The 405nm laser modules are designed for applications such as biomedical instrumentation, imaging, spectroscopy, fluorescence sensing, microscopy and many other emerging technologies.
The compact and efficient 405nm laser modules produce either an elliptical output beam of 4 x 1.5mm with output power of 4mW, or a 2mm circular output beam with output power of 0.9mW. The glass AR coated optical lens may be adjusted to produce either a collimated beam or focused spot. The standard lens may be replaced by other optical systems such as line generators.
The laser is extremely stable and reliable and offers the added advantage of TTL modulation input which will accept signals from DC up to 1 kHz minimum. TTL modulation can be used to enable, inhibit or modulate the laser.
Operating voltage is from 8V to 12V DC at an operating current of 90mA, or 100mA. Beam divergence is <0.6mrad for the circular output beam and <0.6 x 0.3mrad for the elliptical output beam. Operating temperature range is -10°C to +50°C.
The modules are cylindrical with an optional 25mm mounting flange and consist of an aluminium housing, laser diode, drive circuit and collimating lens. Mechanical dimensions are a compact 12 mm diameter x 43mm length. Electrical connections are made via external flying leads. |

At the heart of each Continuum laser system is a very high efficiency pump chamber to couple the flashlamp light into the Nd:YAG rod. Through the use of a diffuse reflector concept, Continuum is able to produce high gain with low heat buildup in the overall system. The result is superior beam quality and excellent passive beam pointing stability without the use of the costly active locking technology used by other companies. Continuum offers five laser platforms based on this technology:
- Powerlite: High power Nd:YAG laser systems
- Surelite: High performance Nd:YAG laser systems
- Inlite: Industrial Nd:YAG laser systems
- Minilite: Compact Nd:YAG laser systems
- Leopard: Picosecond Nd:YAG laser systems |
