Loss in weight feeders are used for the gravimetric dosage of bulk solids (powders, pellets, flakes,..) or liquids, with flow rate range between 1 and 30.000 kg/h allowing to reach high accuracy.
These feeders are applied for continuous blending or for feeding extruders or other process machinery.
Dosing equipment mainly consist of:
- Buffer hopper (that could be provided with antibridge swift) made of stainless steel
- Dosing device (screw conveyor, vibrating chute, gear pump) with continuously adjustable speed.
- Scale with load cells and signal amplifier
- Control system (PLC) that could drive until 15 feeders simultaneously.
GSBI developed a control system that allow the feeders control by means of PLC available in the market (Allen Bradley) avoiding the requirement of dedicated electronic cards or microprocessors, granting the following advantages:
- Reliability, performance and spare parts are the same of the used commercial PLC.
- It is possible to include the management of loss in weight feeders in the PLC that control the raw material storage and conveying plant.
- Simple communication with supervision systems by means of most common standards.
Operator interface is a PC that allows a clear and friendly monitoring of the plant and a very simple process data management.
Also available in compliance with ATEX Directives - Category 3D.

Ramsey Loss-in-Weight Feeders from Thermo Electron Corporation maintain quality and weighing accuracy, reduce material waste and improve blend consistency for increased profits. They accurately control the flow of powders, pellets, flakes or granules to critical processes. They handle hot, floodable and difficult material and are unaffected by dust and material accumulation. These feeders can increase your profits by maintaining quality and weighing accuracy, reducing material waste, and improving blend consistency.
Product Detail
The accurate feeding of dry bulk material is often critical to maintaining product quality. A feeder that weighs accurately and reliably can reduce material waste, improve blend consistency and increase profits.
Ramsey Loss-In-Weight Continuous or Batch Feeding Systems from Thermo measure the mass flow rate and total mass of various bulk materials, such as powders, pellets, flakes and granules. We incorporate the standard, low capacity and sanitary versions of our volumetric feeders into a complete gravimetric feeding system, providing accuracies of ±0.25% to 1.00% and more reliable process control over typical volumetric feeding systems.
There are many advantages to utilizing loss-in-weight feeders. They can handle hot, floodable and difficult materials; are unaffected by dust and material accumulation; and are well suited for low feed rate applications. The entire feeding system is weighed, so there are no errors caused by belt tensioning or tracking. No transportation lag time exists, ensuring precision second-to-second accuracy. Feed accuracy can always be checked during normal operation without the need for sampling.
The Ramsey Micro-Tech 2104 Loss-In-Weight Feeder Controller is specifically designed for continuous or batch loss-in-weight or gain-in-weight applications. It's easy to operate and calibrate with the aid of large easy-to-read displays; straightforward, tactile-touch keyboards; and software that prompts you through proper set-up and operational procedures. A single Ramsey Micro-Tech 2104 is capable of operating two independent loss-in-weight systems, which ultimately contributes to cost savings. A UL-approved version is also available.

Measuring valves are the essence of dualine lubrication systems. They are munted close to the lubrication points and hydraulically operated by pressure from the first and then the second of the two supply lines. On each pressurisation cycles, they indirectly discharge fixed volume of lubricant to the bearing etc.
|
|
Two ranges of line mounting adjustable metering units for use with a dualine system, which discharge a fixed volume of lubricant to half the lubrication points on pressurisation of one line and to the remaining points on pressurisation of the second line.
Benefits:
* Each measuring valve can have from one to four independent operating sections.
* Two normal discharge connections for each operating section reduce the overall cost of the system.
* Any section of the valve can be modified to one discharge, allowing a double sized discharge or an odd number of outlets on the valve.
* Wide stepless adjustment bands for each size of valve allow optimum lubrication delivery to every bearing.
* Positive hydraulic operation with visible indicator of operation.

Parker’s RB9 Multi-Function Flare Valves are used as service valves in mini-split heat pumps. The valves isolate sections of a system for servicing and provide a means for charging refrigerant into a unit. The valve also holds a restrictor and screen to meter refrigerant and filter debris, increasing system efficiency.
* Inclusion of a restrictor into the valve provides precise refrigerant metering to increase efficiency.
* Noise and vibration through the unit are reduced by inclusion of the restrictor into the valve.
* Inclusion of a screen into the valve filters dirt and debris prior to entering the restrictor, maintaining full flow and enhancing performance.
* Captivated stem-design holds the stem within the valve to prevent it from releasing when the cap is removed or the unit is serviced, reducing the potential for injury.
* Combined functionality of valve, restrictor, and screen reduces component inventory (shut-off valve, field-access gage port, expansion device, filter screen or strainer, line-set connector, check valve, by-pass circuit, & capillary tubes) leading to a reduction in overall installed cost.
* Combined functionality of valve, restrictor, and screen also reduces space requirements within a unit and eliminates braze joints to reduce potential leaks paths.

Micro feeders Fine dosing SPA are probably the first on the market to reach such levels of excellence in term of accuracy, short dosing time and flexibility.
The ingredient is dosed in a small swiveling bowl fitted on an accurate load cell. Sensitive parts as motor reducer and scale are installed in a protective casing.
The integrated batch controller optimizes coarse and fine feeding with automatic tolerance control.
Fine dosing concept allows a ratio between coarse/ fine feeding over 30. This figure is a key point to reach fast dosing process and accuracy.
In automatic version, at the end of dosing stage the bowl rotate 360°. The ingredient is then emptied to the application point.

“HIGH-PRESSURE DOSING MACHINES”
The use of high-pressure technology offers many and significant advantages:
· chlorinated solvents are no longer required
· improvement in working conditions
· safeguarding and protection of the global environment
· more efficient production processes
· foams with higher quality and better physical and mechanical properties
· significant raw material saving.
“LOW-PRESSURE DOSING MACHINES”
Cannon low-pressure machines can solve the production problems of the small and medium-size business, being very well conceived and at the same time having advanced technical and technological content.
Their use has certainly been shrunk by the advent of more modern techniques and equipment, however the specific nature of some applications (low outputs, small production volumes) requires features, that only the low-pressure foaming process can offer.
For those reasons and also thanks to the development of alternative and more ecological washing systems based on chloride-free solvents, the low pressure technology it is still nowadays the most suitable, competitive and some times, the only possible solution.
Cannon basically offer a complete range of machines, which can be used in a wide range of different foaming processes:
· general purpose low pressure units
· micro shots and low output units
· high output units
· specialties - specific application niches do not only require to meter and mix polyurethane formulations, to meet these particular needs Cannon engineered dedicated mixing heads, dosing equipment and processes able to pour other type of mixture with different physical properties such as silicone, elastomers and epoxy resins.
