Cartridge Filter Powder Booth System
Nordsons range of cartridge filter spray booths are designed for automatic or manual powder coating applications with approximately three colours or less.
For single colour or 'spray to waste' applications a fixed recovery module (type NCB) system is used. The module is directly connected to the spray booth canopy, and has an integral direct drive fan to provide powder extraction in the booth.
For applications with more than one colour, a system with a mobile removable cartridge filter module is used (type NQCB), to allow modules dedicated to different colours to be simply attached to the system.
Innovative, integrated fan and final filter design dramatically reduces the overall booth footprint and height for greater flexibility in booth location and roll-on/ roll-off applications.

Powder painting represents the optimum solution for various industrial components and is increasingly used thanks to the total absence of emission of solvents, the total recovery of the overspray and the easiness of automatic application.
The typical system is made up of a pre-treatment tunnel, a drying oven, a mono-colour or colour change booth, polymerization oven, overhead conveyor; alternatively for large-sized components, treatment cells with step advance are used.

Now you can stop the waste and take control of your powder coating operation with Nordsons iControl integrated control system, featuring closed loop digital flow control, automatic gun triggering and reciprocator control.
Traditional open loop controls lack repeatability and don't compensate for incoming air pressure changes at the powder pump. With closed loop flow control, like iControl, changes in compressed air input are measured and converted in to digital signals, then sent to a proportional valve.
This valve then compensates for varying pressure by changing the airflow to the pump accordingly - resulting in repeatable powder output from the gun and uniform film build on the part beng sprayed.
The technology provides digital control of all application parameters and gun movers through a single, user-friendly operator interface.

Cold Dipping method (Piece in Vertical Axis, in Static Position and Not Preheated) gives the piece a medium-low absorption level in terms of quantity of Resin, mainly on the Copper winding, while on the Core Lamination (Intra-Lamination effect) it seems not to have big advantages. Cold Dipping Technology is Worldwide largely used and is suggested to Impregnate all those electrical products where working stresses are very low or those components for which other methods can not be used (for instance: Transformers, Coils, Bobbins). The resin's solid content after dripping is very low.

Hot Dipping method (Piece in Vertical Axis, in Static Position and Preheated), likewise for the Hot Roll Dip Method, gives the piece a medium absorption level in terms of quantity of Resin, not only on the Copper winding but also on the Core Lamination.
Hot Dipping Technology combines two main aspects to reach the Best Results:
Dipping Phase in Tank at controlled immersion Speed and Hot pieces, so the penetration of Resin will be complete on all Piece's Sections.
Heating Technology in High-Performance Air Ovens, this causes a faster Gelling phase of the resin than traditional Ovens with the consequent achieving of a more restrained Dropping.

This method (Piece in Horizontal Axis and in rotation state) gives to the electrical components an high absorption of the resin : on the Winding in Copper and the Core Lamination that is the heart of the piece . The Technical advantages coming from this method consist mainly in:
- Regular and Uniform Resin distribution on the whole winding and this guarantees a better piece balancing , first of all for rotating components (Armatures , Rotors , Polar Wheels , so on).
- Resin is excellently retained on the windings , therefore a greater quantity of Resin will remain on surfaces, by giving higher mechanical and thermal properties .

This method (Piece in Horizontal Axis and in rotation state) gives to the components (Stator or Rotor) an Excellent and Regular Resin Saturation in the Winding Slots, besides the resin applied on the two winding's heads. Technical Advantages using this Impregnation method consist mainly in:
By using Correct and Constant Process Parameters, 100% of right quantity of Resin will be applied on the Piece, so that Unnecessary waste of this expensive element will be avoided.
Application of the Resin in the right specific Zones, so that resin deposits in Technological Areas only and any cleaning after-work for removal operations will be necessary.
A Best and Uniform distribution of the Resin in the different Sections of the winding is guaranteed by the Rotation of the Piece, so ensuring constant and homogeneous results in the different Pieces' Sections.

Solvent-based liquid spray painting systems

Sterile spray guns and counterpart of series DBG-CSP have double shutoff feature and are suited for one-hand operation. Their design prevents liquids from spilling and air from entering the line system when the connection is separated or made.
The GMP compliant design of the guns' interior enables all requirements linked with inline sterilization to be satisfied. Since the fluids are washing around all inner components product deposits are reliably removed. All components in contact with product have hand- and electropolished surfaces with peak-to-valley height of 0.8 mm. The inner contour without dead spaces creates optimum flow conditions so that maximum throughput can be achieved at low pressure drops. The spray guns can be easily plugged into the system even if pressure acts on both ends.

Pressure feed containers are used to allow the coating material to be prepared, thinned and conditioned, constantly agitated (if required) and then supplied in bulk to consistently maintain the correct spraying viscosity and pressure. Both low viscosity paints and high viscosity or abrasive materials can be applied swiftly and without problems with SATA paint pressure tanks. Work becomes especially profitable if the pressure tank size can be adapted to the original material container; reducing cleaning to a minimum as the original material container is simply inserted into the paint pressure tank.
