Mechanical, thermal and chemical wire stripping processes cause damage to underlying wire that can affect electrical component performance and cause unacceptable conductor failures for aerospace, defense, medical, automotive, and other industrial companies using mission critical electronics. Manufacturers of these devices need to be aware that laser wire stripping technology is available that will guarantee the elimination of these problems. Applying CO2 laser light (10.6 microns wavelength) vaporizes wire insulation while being incapable of affecting the conductive wires. This wavelength of laser light is absorbed by the wire insulation and completely reflected by metal wire conductors. This technology eliminates the need for replacement blades and hazardous chemicals. Using lasers to strip wire yields the highest quality insulation and adhesive removal while delivering the absolute best quality and most precise wire stripping available.
Lasers can remove wire insulation from a wide variety of wire types including single core, multiple leads, twisted pairs, multi-cable, coaxial cable, and many others. Wires with diameters as low as 0.001 inches can be safely stripped. Tolerances for the laser can be held as tight as 0.001 inches. Single strand wires can be stripped in less than 1 second.
Virtually all wire insulation types can be removed using this laser technology. Wires are easily slit using this same CO2 laser. Straight, T-strip, Window slits, as well as, Spiral strips can be programmed to a controlled depth.

Applying three different types of mechanism, the machine can strip exterior covering and interior covering of wire in accordance with the shape and size of scrap wire or defective wire.
For more detail, the machine is equipped with two parts being put together to make the stripping process to be effective: thickness selective stripping part and thickness adjustable stripping part. The thickness selective stripping part can cut and strip the interior covering of wire by selecting the thickness of interior wiring inserted into wire with the upper pressure roller of exterior covering cutting part repeatedly opening and closing. The thickness adjustable stripping part can strip the interior wiring by adjusting the cut depth according to the thickness of interior wiring.

PowerStrip 9500 automatic cutting and stripping machine for processing wires up to 12 mm (0.47'') in diameter with pull-off lenghts up to 200 mm (7.87'') on the right wire end (leading end) and 100 mm (3.94'') on the left end (trailing end).
Various models of the PowerStrip 9500 are available - from automatic processing of coaxial cables / shielded cables with rotary incision unit, to special Kevlar cutting head or integrated saw (e.g. for succoform or POF cables). Schleuniger UniStrip machines have been proven thousands of times to process wires, cables and a wide variety of special cables. They all operate with extremely fast cycle times and feature a universal blade system that eliminates time consuming change-overs.
Depending on the model, UniStrip machines process wires and cables from 3.2 mm (0.12'') outer diameter up to 9 mm (0.35''). For flat cable processing with the fully programmable UniStrip 2600 or UniStrip 2700 the maximum material width is 11 mm (0.43''), respectively 63 mm (2.48'').

In essence, the FM 70 RE extrudes or pushes a near-net tube through a contoured set of dies or clamps, generating one or two shallow bends - typically with a maximum degree of bend of approximately 40 to 45 degrees.

All models of Comac double pinch style profile bending machine can be equipped with electronic automatic control systems to improve accuracy and consistency of jobs and enhance the rate of automation.
These controls are simple 2-axis programmable positioning devices, or CNC controls.
Programmable positioning devices are useful to join straight parts to bent parts and to perform multiple-passes jobs in a more consistent sequence of operations.
CNC controls are required to accomplish multi-radius curves to be produced in medium-large batches with high consistency and excellent quality of transitions between the different radii, even with difficult materials such as thin-wall tubes.
This can be achieved by controlling simultaneously three axes, i.e. the profile feeding and the positions of the bending rolls.
Among the hundreds of parts produced with CNC-controlled rolls, some samples are: greenhouses, handrails of cruise boats, conveyor rails, variable-pitch pipe coils for boilers, pancake coils, commercial signs, etc.
