The aftercoolers will reduce the temperature of air from a compressor supplier down to within 8 degrees C of the cooling water temperature. They should be mounted in a vertical position, with a moisture separator inserted in the air-line immediately after the air outlet from the cooler. To avoid undue strain on the aftercooler long lengths of unsupported pipes should be avoided.

Our brazed plate heat exchangers are manufactured in 5 sizes in model series 12, 18, 25, 57 and 100. In model series 25 and 57, three plate types "H", "M" and "L" are available, whereas model series 100 uses "M" plates exclusively. In model series 18, "L" plates are additionally available.
For brazing, every other plate is rotated by 180 degrees in the plane to produce to separate flow channels in which the products involved in heat transfer flow in opposite directions. The plate contours generate a highly turbulent flow allowing very efficient heat transfer even with low volumetric flows. Heat transfer depends on the angle of the V-shaped profiling of the individual plate types. The flow gaps produced in this way generate different degrees of turbulences which determines the heat transmission. Three different V-shaped profilings are available, referred to as "H", "M" and "L".

The Copes-Vulcan VO-76 is especially well suited for high pressure and temperature service (e.g. ANSI 1500 and above). It is particularly adaptable where custom professional fitting to new or existing piping is a problem. The VO-76 provides alternatives where limited space or changes in header diameter are factors.
Features:
- The VO II offers extremely fine control and exceptional turndown that is limited only by the rangeability of the coolant control valve itself. Typically the unit can achieve a rangeability of 100:1 when matched with a Copes-Vulcan control cock fitted with Cascade trim design.
- Due to excellent mixing of vapor and coolant, control is possible throughout the entire operating range to within 5 °F (2.5 °C) of the set point, which can be as close as 10 °F (5 °C) above saturation.
- The coolant pressure, which is required at the inlet to the VO II need only be 5 PSI (0.35 bar) above the pressure of the vapor being desuperheated.
Since virtually all the desuperheating occurs within the body itself, usually no pipe liners or long downstream straight pipe runs are necessary.

Schutte & Koerting, designer and manufacturer of equipment for the process and power industries since 1876, introduces a new Surface Absorption Desuperheater. The newly designed desuperheater provides a near infinite turndown ratio, making it ideal for applications with widely varying load conditions. This ability to assure saturated steam under fluctuating loads will extend the operating life of downstream components and provide increased productivity with higher yields.
Because of its unique design, this desuperheater is about 30 percent less expensive than traditional cast units. It has ratings to 1500 psi and no thermal sleeve is required. The unit is an excellent choice for any application with space limitations, where minimal water carryover is required, or where efficient operation is necessary under widely varying load conditions. The new Surface Absorption Desuperheater is backed by Schutte & Koerting’s 120 years of experience.

The header tank heat exchanger incorporates a quiet zone header tank with a special deaeration feature and a pressurised filler cap.
