Controlled descents
For both work at height and rescue, access from above is preferred becaus e it allows one to take advantage of the force of gravity. Descenders are designed to regulate friction and control descent on a fixed rope. They also allow one to be positioned at certain points on the rope to perform work operations. With some descenders it also possible to belay a leader progressing using rock climbing techniques.
Petzl offers two types of descenders:
self-braking descenders,
standard descenders..
The Petzl difference
1- Swinging side plate with safety clip
Reduces the risk of dropping the device. Practical for quick installation of the rope. Efficient means of passing intermediate anchors.
2- Multi-functional handle (I'D)
Allows the rope to be released to begin the descent. Anti-panic function: if the user pulls too hard on the handle, the cam will lock on the rope. Locking position is used to lock off the user at any point on the rope without tying off.
3- Anti-error safety catch (I'D)
Reduces the risk of an accident due to incorrect installation of the device on the rope.

The essential link in any safety system
Connectors vary according to their shape, size and locking system. The size of the gate opening determines what they can be clipped to.
Aluminum carabiners are made of an alloy ensuring an excellent strength to weight ratio. Since they are lightweight and will not interfere with progression, they can be used on harnesses, at the end of a lanyard or to construct temporary anchors.
The heavier steel connectors are most often used in anchor systems. Quick links can be left in place for extended periods of time.
The Petzl difference
1- 2- Manual or automatic locking
Petzl offers two types of locking systems:
- manual, which requires the user to lock the gate closed,
- automatic, which automatically locks the gate closed.
The automatic locking system is recommended for carabiners that are used frequently.
The manual system is recommended for dirty environments (mud, ice).
3- Keylock System
All aluminum Petzl carabiners use the Keylock system. The body / gate interface does not have a hook that could snag on anchors, ropes, harnesses, etc.
4- Different shapes for different uses
Symmetrical, small or large pear-shaped or D-shaped, each form corresponds to a specific use: to connect a device to a harness, attach a pulley or to use at the end of a lanyard, etc.
|
|
The Net Barrier System offers a flexible edge protection solution to all manner of roof construction and, when combined with the internal safety netting, provides a confident cocoon within which the roofer can operate in complete safety.
It not only protects the roofers from falls, but also offers a high degree of material containment and protection for those working below.

Ascending ropes and hauling systems
Rope clamps are principally used for two purposes: ascending ropes and hauling systems.
Petzl offers two types of devices:
frame-loaded rope clamps,
cam-loaded rope clamps.
For ascending ropes, frame-loaded rope clamps are the most commonly used. They are easy and quick to use, facilitating the passage of intermediate anchors and the transition from rope climbing with a clamp to descending. The cam-loaded rope clamps are recommended for hauling systems and creating adjustable lanyards. Installing them is slower due to the fact that the rope is captured in the device. However because of this, they can be almost permanently attached to the rope. Both types of rope clamps are for use on single ropes.
The Petzl difference
1- One-handed installation at any point on the rope
The spring-loaded catch allows the frame-loaded rope clamps to be installed and taken off at any point on the rope.
2- 3- 4- Ergonomically designed for different uses
The frame-loaded rope clamps have been ergonomically designed for different uses:
- molded handle on the ASCENSION for an comfortable grip,
- the attachment hole on the CROLL is oriented so the device lies flat against the chest,
- the PANTIN's compact rope clamp will not get in the way.

Our SLIDING ANTI-FALL DEVICES on line of rigid anchorage, under the norm IN 353-1 for the individual protection against height falls, satisfy the dispositions corresponding to directive 89/686 the EEC.
Systems to facilitate the vertical access of safe form in work places where the protection against falls of the workers is due to guarantee, such as: Aeolian towers, chimneys, towers of telecommunications, covers, tracks of tread, traveling cranes, access to wells, etc.
All our equipment is certificates by notified organisms.
Our range includes:
System FABA A12: Stairs with integrated security system or anti-fall rail in the heat of the moment to mount to existing stairs in galvanized steel or stainless steel. The system offers to the worker a optimum protection and a great freedom of movement, the hands are available and they do not have to be used to take hold itself to the stairs, reason why the power is made possible to take with himself the material and tool, and in addition, in case of fall the system on the other allows to the rescue person without needing using other additional systems and disconnecting the arresting gear.
System EASYCLIMBER: Stainless steel cable quality AISI-316L with absorber of reajustable energy in case of fall and that less than reduces the load on the structure to 6Kn. The system allows its use by 4 people although consecutive falls take place, being able to realize the rescue using the same like anti-fall protection. These qualities cause that the system has an economic maintenance in relation to other systems that in case of fall this are unutilised

The Latchways ManSafe for Ladders system provides outstanding personal safety for individuals working on any type of fixed industrial ladder. Applications include chimneys, towers, cranes and silos.
Such is the simplicity of the design concept that ManSafe for Ladders can be installed to follow the contours of the structure to which it is attached and so maximise its safety value in a working environment.
Equally, the proven effectiveness of the system's LadderLatch unit with its unique Latchways starwheel component provides workers with the security of being constantly attached to the system while also having both hands free to go about their duties. If a worker should fall from the system, the LadderLatch unit immediately locks onto the system cable and arrests the fall.
In the event of a fall, a worker attached to a ManSafe for Ladders system is far less likely to be injured during the fall arrest process compared to a fall from a traditional hoop system. Whereas hoop systems prevent a worker falling backwards off a ladder, the hoops themselves present a significant threat if the worker should fall down a ladder.
