ACE Controls now offers a series of products, titled the LOCKED SERIES, specifically designed to lower machine process costs and increase service life as well as operational safety.
The installation of ACE LOCKED SERIES safety clamping products decreases the forces occuring when problems such as, power failure, programming error, erroneous switching or other problems occur.
All elements of the ACE Controls emergency stops are independent of the power supply and are not dependent on any part of the machinery that they protect and thus act as an independent brake system for the respective drives.

Such guard locking devices are for instance key-operated mechanical interlocks, also called trapped-key systems. They are based on the easy-to-understand premise that a key cannot be in two places at the same time - it can for instance be inserted in a switch OR be used for opening a guard. Another safety-relevant feature is that a key can only become free in a safe condition, when there are no hazards - a switch is turned off, a guard interlock is closed and locked.

The NX range permits a module selection which includes at the same time mechanical interlocking systems so that it turns into one single element.
The NX range is a versatile and modular system for machinery guarding applications. The NX range is composed of mechanical bolt locks with modules like herses for padlock or electrical contact of security, and accessories from different latches type.
The principle of key release and locking is directly integrated in the interlocking system.
The NX range is completely evolving and can be tailored for any application due to its modular configuration. NX is also easily adapted to changing circumstances. As regulations or procedures change, modules can be removed and new features can be simply added to the unit. This range is totally suitable with security norms in force which always are becoming stronger.
The different components of the NX range are completely built in stainless steel so that they can give a perfect resistance to harsh environments. Fields of application are diverse: concrete, chemistry, energy, electric, etc…
In order to respond to the requirements of the industry branch, Serv Trayvou has developed the NX-range whose system is modular and very heavy duty.
Through this range STI proves all its expertise and technical know-how which place the company as a specialist in safety devices for hazardous machines.

samos® – Safety modules
A classical safety switching device does not provide enough functions, but a programmable safety control is just too much? Our modular system samos® closes this gap. Even one single samos® module provides numerous application options and replaces multiple individual switching devices. While the safety task grows, samos® is able to grow, too – the compact modules are connected following the modular principle and are easily mounted to a standard mounting rail.
It is even easy to parameterize the modules: you will not need any complex software; just set the desired safety function directly on the device using a screwdriver - and read them from their, too. A clear and simple solution. With samos® you can monitor up to 30 safety sensors and integrate them through various gateways into common control systems such as fieldbus systems or Industrial Ethernet.
An investment in samos® pays off with only a few safety circuits. Even though the requirements increase, you will still be able to count on the safety system, because samos® is modular and flexible.

Siemens Automation und Drives presents the SIMATIC Mobile Panel 277F IWLAN the first wireless operator interface with integrated safety functionality.
When configuring the device, the user is supported by the WinCC flexible 2007 engineering software to define "effective ranges" in which the machine can be controlled by the operator.
A transponder limits the effective ranges in which the device can be identified locally. This ensures fail-safe operator control and clear assignment of the appropriate operating screens and operator authorizations anywhere in the plant.
The transponder can also be used to define zones in which certain functions are configured, such as automatic on-screen display or operator authorizations for particular persons when they enter the zone

BNS range magnetic safety sensors serve to monitor the position of sliding, hinged and removable safety guards. Sensors without integral evaluation can only be used for safety duties to DIN VDE 0660-209 in combination with a safety guard monitor of the AES / AZR range for protection up to Control Category 4 to EN 954-1, see chapter 10.2.
The use of magnetic safety sensors is of particular advantage in cases where extremely dirty conditions can occur or high hygienic standards need to be maintained. This is provided by the simplicity of cleaning the units.
A further advantage is the facility for concealed mounting under non-magnetic materials. Working surfaces and storage areas can be arranged without the need for dust-collecting edges or other functionally required cut-outs or projections.
BNS range magnetic safety sensors can also be used in cases where a precise approach is not possible and greater tolerances are required.
