Balston Filter/Industrial silencers are remarkably efficient sound mufflers, far more efficient than the felts, pleated paper, sintered plastic and sintered metal products commonly used in other exhaust silencers. A sound attenuation efficiency test comparing a 9955-12-DX, 1/2" Filter/Silencer with a sintered polyethylene silencer is described below. This silencing efficiency test simulates the action of an air professional cylinder discharging rapidly to atmosphere. A length of 1/2" line between two supplier of ball valves is pressurised with air to a controlled pressure. The upstream cock is closed and then the downstream valve is opened rapidly to discharge the fixed volume of air under pressure to atmosphere. Noise levels were measured at a 0.75 metre distance, firstly with no silencer on the end of the line, secondly with the Balston Filter/Silencer and lastly with competitive silencer. |

Silvent's new series of safety industrial silencers offers extremely effective noise reduction, compact size and a unique and patented warning system. The silencer's warning indicator gives early warning that backpressure in the system is too high. Maintenance personnel can both see and hear (by an elevated sound level) that it is time to replace the silencer before costly and unnecessary operation disturbance occurs. Since the warning indicator extends when it is pressed out, it is also possible to use electronic monitoring to stop the machine for silencer replacement. The use of dosing pumps involves pulsations. The rule is: the longer the line, the larger the pressure peaks. These may impair the operation, in some cases even the pump and / or the line network may be destroyed.
The PDS inline pulsation dampeners from Lutz-Jesco is a simple and also effective way to reduce pressure fluctuations to a harmless level. Due to a choice of different materials it is possible to ensure chemical resistance even in the case of very aggressive media. As the unit is integrated directly into the line the industrial diaphragm storage is flushed continuously, and extra costs because of difficult installation work are avoided.
When mounted close to the pump, optimum results can be achieved. The PDS can be installed on the discharge as well as on the suction side. On the suction side, it often makes reliable metering only possible due to the improved flow conditions. Thus cavitation is also avoided, for example.
The PDS is needed whenever pulsating flow is undesirable or rigid piping and long suction and discharge lines are used. Its maximum stroke volume is 1,200 ml/stroke.

Using the energy carrier system a defined working area of 3 to 18 metres can be continuously supplied with energy (compressed air and/or electricity). The energy is supplied by means of the air tubing inserted in the energy chain and/or a power cable.
Data lines can also be integrated. The energy is supplied through fixed tapping stations.
For energy carrier systems rails without tapping cocks or connection plates are normally used.
They can be coupled with work stations, tool holders and tool carriages.

Rail system
The Bestapower rail as core unit in the system serves simultaneously as a pneumatics line, as a running rail for carriages and stations as well as a profile for the energy carrier system and peripheral equipment such as lighting.
Rails are available as straight and as bent elements. Rail segments are up to 6 metres long. Couplings, end pieces and fastening elements complete the rail system. |
