Raytek presents the Marathon MM 3M, a new IR-pyrometer to measure low-to-medium temperatures (100 to 600°C) with more accuracy regardless of changing emissivity. This innovative sensor was specifically designed to meet temperature measurement challenges in the metals processing industry. It utilizes shorter infrared wavelengths (2.3 µm) in order to minimize errors due to the uncertainty of emissivity. The new thermometer is not as sensitive to changes in emissivity on the target material as long wavelength sensors, and as such, provides more accurate readings across varying targets, at varying temperatures. The Marathon MM 3M features an IP 65 sealed user interface and precision variable focus optics. The precision variable focus optics allows the sensor to be accurately focused with just a touch of a button, while the sealed user interface guarantees the integrity of the electronics. The Marathon MM3M pyrometer provides all of the advantages of this advanced sensor platform, including enhanced continuous remote temperature monitoring, ease of installation and sighting, video surveillance and documentation, remote PC interface, flexible configuration, and field calibration software.

MM series
Raytek announces the addition of a motorised, remotely-controlled variable target focus capability to its Marathon MM Series. This new feature provides OEMs and production engineers the flexibility of needing only one sensor type for multiple sensor applications. This ready-to-use solution greatly reduces the requirement for replacement sensors stock, resulting in considerable cost savings. Users can easily adjust the focus of measurement targets, either on the rear of the instrument, or from a PC where adjustments can be seen real-time on video. The sensor is sealed according to IP 65 standards. All of the sensors provide integrated through-the-lens sighting, plus either laser or video sighting for correct aiming. The MM Series also provides real-time video monitoring, image capture and storage capabilities. This unique optional feature enables engineers to continuously observe and record temperature variations in their process. The MM Series platform covers a temperature range of - 40 to 3000°C and consists of 5 sensor models. All sensors feature identical hardware and include Raytek DataTemp Multidrop software to enable easy and consistent installation and remote configuration of multiple networked sensors. A complete range of accessories is available for MM sensors. |
