QMS 403 C Aëolos® - Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer
The QMS 403 Aëolos® quadrupole mass spectrometer is a new compact mass spectrometer with a heated capillary inlet system for routine analysis of gases and, in particular, volatile decomposition products of thermal analysis. This system has been optimized for coupling to differential scanning calorimeters, dilatometers and thermogravimetric analyzers.
The high temperature of the gas transfer system and the absence of pressure reduction orifices practically eliminate condensation of decomposition products during thermal analysis experiments. This achieves a high detection sensitivity and facilitates quantitative detection of all identified gas components.
Via the inlet system with the fused silica capillary, other gas sources can be investigated with the QMS 403 C Aëolos® independent of thermal analysis; for that purpose, the QMS is operated with the self-contained software.
The concept of the NETZSCH thermal analysis instruments has been laid out from the start for coupling with gas analysis systems like the QMS 403 C Aëolos® or an FTIR system with a gas cell, through consistent optimization of the gas paths with complete heating from the furnace to the gas detector. This eliminates gas loss through condensation at cold spots and only very low carrier gas flows are sufficient for complete transfer. |

Metal alloy verification is crucial to the success of many businesses, regardless of application - QA/QC, scrap sorting, PMI, failure analysis.
In late 1998, NITON LLC revolutionized the alloy analysis industry with the introduction of its XL-800 Series Alloy Analyzer - the first ever high-performance handheld x-ray fluorescence (XRF) device for alloy composition and grade verification. Since that time, NITON products have become the standard for material analysis in applications ranging from scrap metal sorting to petrochemical positive material identification (PMI), to in-house QA/QC of alloy components in manufacturing. |

The TEST-MASTER PRO is a robust, mobile spectrometer for precise analysis of metallic samples.
This decisive newly developed product is optimised for sorting demands common in depot/storage facilities of steel producing and metalworking plants. In arc-mode, measuring times of less than 2 seconds are possible allowing a complete analysis of large batches in a short time.
A high frequency power source operating in argon allows the exact analysis of nearly all metals (including cast iron) on the one hand and on the other hand, rapid sorting (including carbon determination) is completed within 4 seconds. To cool the instrument heat is transferred, without any air flow, using a heat exchanger, to dissipate heat produced during normal operation. This WAS innovation, ensures that the TEST-MASTER PRO stays operative in the most challenging of environments. (i.e. automated testing systems). |
|
| The SPECTRO iSORT performs a 'fingerprinting' procedure to independently recognize the sample material. The optimal instrument settings for the material are then automatically used for the analysis without manual operator intervention. |

X-MET5000 Metal recycling tool
Oxford Instruments has launced the new, robust X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF) analyzer - the X MET5000, for accurate and reliable identification of metal alloys.
This design experience combined with Oxford Instruments' patented PentaFET® detector technology guarantees fast analysis and lower detection limits for all elements of interest.
The current high prices of commodities metal, in particular Nickel, make the accurate determination of alloy composition critical in the financial success of modern recycling operations. The X-MET5000 quickly and accurately measures Nickel even in concentrations below 1%. The same instrument can be loaded with both a metals analysis program and plastic analysis program making it ideal for the growing scope of recycling industry. An analytical program for precious metals analysis is also available.
The X-MET5000's major strength is the Light Element Treatment (LET) mode, enabling fast and accurate analysis of the matrix elements even when the sample contains light elements like Aluminum and Silicon. This is not possible when using Fundamental Parameters (FP) on an analyzer that does not detect the light elements.
This rugged and reliable tool is IP54 (NEMA 3) approved for superior dust and splash protection. The X-MET5000 is perfect for the harsh conditions of a scrap yard. The battery's operating time is one working day and enables extended productivity in the yard.
An optional bench-top stand enables hands-free operation for multi-tasking without the loss in confidence in measurement results. |

The NITON XLt 794, manufactured by Thermo Fisher Scientific, offers a highly reliable and accurate non-destructive method for monitoring the levels of toxic metals present in plastics with little to no sample preparation. High quality analytical results can be obtained in a matter of just seconds in PE, PVC, or other polymer types. Additionally, because portable XRF is a nondestructive energy-dispersive technique, simultaneous analysis of a range of elements may be performed on a sample with just one test. Samples are left unaffected so critical parts may be effectively screened as one step in a QC testing protocol.
|
|
The Thermo Scientific NITON XL3t handheld (x-ray fluorescence) XRF analyzer combines the most powerful x-ray tubes ever used in a portable XRF instrument with advanced electronics and materials technology.
