Contact welding units „Nowadays, excellent contacts make the difference!“
To make sure that this also applies to your manufacture processes, we at Bihler have done our best to perfect the various contact welding procedures on our patented welding devices. Here, wire and profile strip welding deserve particular attention and are ideally catered for by our contact welding units D0, D1, D2 and D3. They primarily consist of a material feed mechanism, a material non-return gripper, a blanking station and the electrode-equipped welding head itself. The accelerating miniaturization of components coupled with economic factors relating to the use of precious metals inevitably means that switching contacts themselves have to be miniaturized. Bihler has specifically developed an innovative concept for micro-contacts which is used in the D0 K contact welding unit. The smallest device in the Bihler contact welding range is particularly suitable for processing profiled micro-contacts which place high demands on the quality of the contact surface after the welding operation. Thus, for example, gold-coated micro-contacts can be produced without damage to the surfaces.

B 5000
Flexible welding system for complex applications
The technically excellent welding system B 5000 with up-to-date power electronics allows variable welding frequencies from 1000 Hz to 5000 Hz in steps of 500 Hz. The appropriate frequency depends on the prevailing application. Higher frequencies e.g. in case of micro contact welding, guarantee a more sensitive and thus optimum adaption of the welding time to the welding process. The system consists of a control cabinet with integrated computer with operation and visualization and an intelligent inverter control with calculator modul. The welding transformator disposes of an integrated measuring box and an improved rectifier configuration executed for optimum cooling. The measured process parameters are transmitted from the transformator to the intelligent inverter control via fibre optic cables. With only two versions capacities of up to 130 kVA resp. up to 300 kVA can be realized. For every welding point NC drives can be integrated and parameterized in order to motorically control the Bihler welding grippers. The newly developped cooling units meet the higher requirements of this welding system.

The RSX100 is a flexible, PC-based system that extends the basic functionality of traditional stand alone resistance weld equipment by integrating it with a gantry robot and rotary indexer. Now manufacturers can repeatability weld multiple parts during the same cycle, significantly increasing their throughput and cutting their labor costs. The RSX100 also has an integrated resurfacing tool to refinish and clean the electrodes at predefined intervals.
The RSX100 uses an easy to learn and operate Windows XP interface that stores weld schedules, weld data, and all product data so you have complete traceability for your customer. All data is stored to a MS SQL Server database for report generation and statistical analysis.

The new RSX50 automated resistance spot weld platform is an ideal solution for companies trying to increase throughput without having to buy more dedicated resistance weld stations.
The patent pending weld head allows one to quickly switch between parallel gap and opposed electrode welding. The rotary dial plate enables an operator to load and unload parts while the gantry robot safely welds parts behind the light curtain - significantly increasing your RSW productivity.
The PC controlled machine runs techMatrix's WeldWorks™ Software Suite on the familiar Windows XP operating system. Engineers can easily manage weld recipes across multiple products, save and analyze critical RSW data and keep their process in control using integrated six sigma quality tools.

StarShape
The new StarShape series from Rofin/Baasel Lasertech provides a large number of different lasers for micro-material processing. All StarShape series applications have one thing in common: the precise, local, selective ablation of areas of the surface of a component or tool by vaporization or vaporization-induced displacement of the molten mass.
The lasers in the series can be used to structure surfaces, drill through-going or blind holes, or remove selected layers of substrates precisely to the micrometer. The materials that can be processed range from metals through ceramics and diamonds to plastics.
To cover most of ablating micro-material processing, the StarShape series includes both Nd:YAG lasers in cw or Q-switched versions, and CO2 lasers. The available wavelengths thus range from green to within the infra-red end of the spectrum. Interaction times from the few nanoseconds of end-pumped solid state lasers up to the continuous-wave range, offer suitable laser solutions for all of the above-mentioned applications.
