Branson has two new Laser IRAM assembly systems - Models 200 and 300.
The IRAM 200 is a modular system that can be configured in multiple ways. The base machine includes a laser safe enclosure, PLC controls and operator interface, an integrated chiller for laser cooling, and one laser bank which generates 125 Watts of power at 808 nm or 100 Watts at 980 nm. Options include a smart actuator with force transducer and linear encoder for weld-by-distance functionality, wide beam scanning system with servo slide for welding large surface areas, and up to two additional laser banks providing for a total power of 375 Watts at 808 nm or 300 Watts at 980 nm.
The IRAM 300 operates at 600 Watts at 980 nm and features global intensity control, individual laser diode control, extensive data logging and system monitoring, light enclosure with pneumatic door and safety interlocks, water flow controls, switches, and temperature monitoring, laser active indicator, safety light curtain, and an interior work light.

ANTHROPOMORPHIC ROBOT LASER WELDING SYSTEM
It requires the use of a laser delivered by fibre optics or of a diode laser operating directly assembled on the arm. This system is specific for 3D welding and for large areas, with typical self-teaching programming options which easily process large-size components of complex geometry. It offers the advantage of a wide workspace at a low cost and to be flexible and easily reconfigured for various profiles. The laser power available is 3 kW, on a work radius up to 1.8 m.
GALVANOMETRIC LASER WELDING SYSTEM
The system is specific for flat weld configurations. The software allows a direct import of a weld profile in the form of CAD file and, if the weld geometry can be optically accessed, there are no limits on the profile complexity. A typical working area is 250 mm x 250 mm. The adoption of a dynamic Z scanner allows 3D welding. Optimum power of the laser source (diode or Nd: YAG) is in the range of 100 W, in order to achieve a sufficient productivity.
GALVANOMETRIC LASER WELDING SYSTEM FOR THIN FILM
The use of CO 2 laser sources of power up to 500 W allows joining of polymeric films with scanning linear speeds of laser beam up to 500 m/min. This latest solution is particularly suitable for the packaging sector. |

Dukane's new 40 kHz, 600 watt pistol grip hand probe is an ergonomically-friendly pistol grip made of soft rubber for a comfortable feel. The compact size of this light weight tool, weighing just under .46 Kg (1 lb.,) makes it ideally suited for assemblies that are difficult to reach or too large to be assembled by a press system.
The new hand probe utilizes Dukane’s exclusive patented solid mount technology using no 0-rings for minimal deflection. Use of rugged strain reliefs, switches and industrial connectors ensures reliable operation. The unit is also compatible with all Dukane power supplies and comes with an 8 foot shielded cable. Standard wrenches can be used for ease of tool changing. Another feature of Dukane’s new hand probe is a hook for counter balance mounting or hanging for operator ease of use.

Both SW200 series welders feature a precision servo-driven spin welding system with accurate control to within 1 degree. A free-standing operator interface allows for the following adjustments: revolutions per minute (RPM), revolutions per cycle (RPC), and hold time (HT). The controller also monitors RPMs, RPCs, and motor torque for quality control reporting. The SW200-G additionally incorporates an integral reduction gear which makes it capable of welding larger circular parts. | Dukane’s Dual ServoWeld Spin Welder is designed for welding circular parts that have a tight tolerance requirement for both the orientation between the parts being welded and the overall final welded assembly height. The new design builds on the solid foundation of Dukane’s existing single servo-spin welder, by replacing the pneumatic Z-axis drive with a second servomotor. The unit’s control system provides the ability to hold orientation tolerances of +/- 0.1 degree of rotation and Z-axis tolerances of 10 microns. In addition, the control system coordinates the performance of both servomotors thereby providing the user with a new welding technology Dukane calls Melt-Match.
