sf non return valves close the through flow in one direction (the return) and allow an almost unrestricted flow in the other direction (the flow). As long as the flow pressure is greater than the return pressure, the valve remains open (providing there is sufficient pressure acting against the spring). If the return pressure exceeds the flow pressure, the valve is pressed against the seat, thus closing the flow.

Complete range of check valves available to suit any application;
* Effective minimal maintenance free solutions
* Preventing reverse flow in pipelines
* Compact design

The compact wafer-style design and round unobstructed port of the Tyco Prince Wafer-Check Valve tackle many tough applications throughout industry. Offering elastomer and polymer seating materials, it is heavily used in chemical, petrochemical, water/waste water, mining, HVAC systems, power, pulp and paper, refrigeration, agriculture, oil production and most other industrial applications. Available 2" through 48", Prince wafer check valves significantly minimize the required piping support, assuring low installation and maintenance costs when compared to traditional full-bodied check valves. Adaptable with outside lever and weights, internal or external springs, the Prince Wafer Check can solve many specific application problems.

Check valves allow the flow of refrigerant in one direction only by automatically closing when fluid attempts to flow in the opposite direction. The check valves are used generally used to protect compressors, pumps but also other apparatus from damage by liquid refrigerant.
Several constructions of check valves are available. Revalco chooses for a spring loaded valve construction of which, when opened, the valve body is completely outside the main stream.
Advantages:
- Cage construction NB 100-150 (4"-6") prevents hammering or whistling as a result of too large/small valve
- Standard supplied as a PN40 design. (on request PN52).
- High Kv values resulting in low pressure drops.
- Modular buid up stop-, regulating-, check- and stop check valves makes possible chang-over in existing installation.

Soft-Seat Copper Check Valves:
Parker's Soft-Seat Copper Check Valves are used in refrigeration and air conditioning systems to maintain flow in only one direction. Internal components seat or "check," preventing flow back through the valve. These products are often used in conjunction with dryers or strainers to ensure unidirectional flow, with compressors to prevent liquid refrigerant from flooding back to the inlet, or in system lines to redirect flow to another circuit.
Application:
• Refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
Features and Benefits:
• Soft-seat valve features a Neoprene™ o-ring that seals to a metal seat for low refrigerant leakage (10cc/min. compared to traditional check valves with 750 cc/min.).
• Brass piston seat and steel piston provide corrosion resistance and durability.
• Sweat connections in a variety of sizes provide for easy installation and simplified brazing.

The Y90 DONADON rupture disc is a compression (or reverse) disc peripherally scored.
The Y90 represents the high technology in the sector: the camber of the convex disc is not modified by the operating pressure except on reaching reverse pressure. Therefore this device works with ratios of up to 90% between operating and rupture pressure and withstands thousands of cycles without jeopardising its reliability.
At the moment of reversion the disc bursts in a few thousands of a second rupturing along the scored line without fragments
Y90 disc has lower sensitivity to variations in temperature than conventional discs and therefore is very useful in applications with large temperature variations.
It is especially suitable for use with gas and liquids, and for protecting pressure relief valves
The wide choice of materials and the thickness used make the Y90 disc very resistant to corrosion. Greater protection can be obtained with a PTFE lining, which can be applied to the process side of the disc.
Vacuum support is normally not required
Available in special execution certified Ex II 2GD according to European Directive 94/9/CE (ATEX)

Donadon SCD is a compression (or reverse) disc with micro-scored calibrated section. Special feature of SCD is scoring in 6 sectors instead of 4 as usual in all competitors’ discs.
Opening in 6 petals allows a better opening reducing the risk of petal detachment even at high bursting pressure.
It is used with gas and liquids also in cycling and pulsating conditions without reduction of safety margins.
SCR disc reacts to excessive pressure in a few milliseconds without fragmentation.
It is especially suited for protection of pressure relief valves.
SCR disc may operate at 90% of the bursting pressure and has a very good resistance to corrosion due to the thickness of the material employed. Corrosion resistance may be additionally improved by PTFE lining.
Vacuum support is normally not required.
Available in special execution certified Ex II 2GD according to European Directive 94/9/CE (ATEX).

The Selas automatic firecheck, or flame arrestor, is basically a check valve which is closed by actuation of a thermal release. Components include a shut-off valve, check valve, corrugated fire screen, and a thermal latch. In normal operations, the combustible fuel/air mixture passes freely through these components. If flashback occurs,the sudden increase in back pressure will cause the check valve to close and momentarily interrupt the forward flow of the fuel/air mixture. The reduced flow and the internal configuration of the firecheck allow the backward-traveling flame to stop at the fire screen. The tiny holes and chilling capacity of the fire screen hold the flame on the screen until the thermal element is heated and releases the latch to close the shut-off valve. This valve-closure stops fuel/air flow and prevents the flashback from proceeding past the firecheck. The shut-off valve remains closed until manually reset.

WITT safety devices are used to protect single cylinders, outlet points or pipelines against gas back feeding and flashback and meet various National and International Standards e.g. EN730. Appropriate checks are made by the certification authorities - BAM, TÜV and Underwriters Laboratories etc. Pressure control systems, points of use and complete energy supply systems (MECS) incorporate these devices.
